Take a black sharpie and color the pan. I do this on all my green pans also and it does help for seeing the fine gold.

This was bonkers. Such good gold out of that crack! Means it's always good to at the very least always have a little camping frypan or pot with a rounded 90 degree edge so you can pan off in it if you need to!

In the UK, the gold I know about would be Welsh gold, (they make wedding rings from it, very expensive ones) and there was some found in northern Ireland. I live in the black country, once famous for fire clay, lime stone and iron ore. doubt there's much gold, or streams nowadays

Dont go out and buy something like the minelab pro kit for $100.. Start with a $10 camping store pan and sniffers.. might even be able to buy a garden sieve from bunnings for $8 and small spade for $15 with your takings so far... might even have change for a cheap $1 bucket from krazy klarks Thats already the beginnings of a micro miner kit

can $38 not buy the cheapest pan & shovel out there? Branding doesn't matter, moving material to upgrade further does. You could also make a free snuffer bottle by finding another Dare bottle and a straw, poke it through the lid and a snuffer is made for free
