Rare hybrid solar eclipse darkens skies in Australia and parts of Southeast Asia 

Saw it from Jakarta, Indonesia. It was partial but still, very fascinating. People were cheering and clapping, we were so excited. We also saw live streaming from Biak, Papua as well where they got a total eclipse. Even though it was only a live streaming, it was surreal to see how dark it was in the middle of the day, and then slowly became bright again after it reached its peak. An amazing experience.

The power of nature is always great, we deserve to make this planet better.

I'm from the Philippines and I'm so glad to witness this eclipse. My friends and I were super excited when we saw the Sun looking like a crescent because of the moon passing by.

I saw my first solar eclipse in the 90s. People on the news said that it was very rare, like a once in a hundred years opportunity. Since then I've seen 2 more solar eclipses, 2 lunar eclipse and 1 super moon. Guess these natural phenomena aren't all that rare. Or it might be the end times soon. 😅

Watching this eclipse made me feel more humble to exist in this life time and universe 🥰

It's weird and awesome to feel the temp drop when there is a solar eclipse in hot areas of the world.

I also saw the eclipse from Indonesia. It was a partial eclipse but I really enjoyed it. It's also my first time to witness such an event first hand.

Im able to fully observed and photographed it thought only partial, because i live in java. What nice is that this eclipse happened on joint holiday in Indonesia, so i can fully enjoy it. The last year (partial) eclipse happened during the work day 😅

I remember seeing one years ago. It was one of the most fascinating wonders that I have ever experienced. I remember dancing to "Singing in the Rain" in the darkness and suddenly, I saw the most marvellous shadow in front of me as if I was a ballerina. When I turned around, I saw the brightest moon I've ever seen. How I cherish this moment for the rest of my life. How lucky I am. Praise the Lord 🙏 ❤

I saw a partial eclipse back on August 23rd give or take 1 or 2 years ago.

Witnessed one of these with some friends while I was in college, totally surreal feeling!

I hate to say this. Just at that solar time I look outside my window and notice something strange in the sky. The sky is very clear blue. But the sunlight seems off, which remind me off partial solar eclipse. I brush it off thinking it a cloud outside my view partially blocking sun light and back to my laptop. And at night there are news about solar eclipse and it turns out my area has partial eclipse. That feeling !@#&*(@&!#*(, how could I missed this. I could literally just walk outside and snap couple of pics. The last partial eclipse more than 10 years ago, I had all my pinhole camera ready days before. Still have the pics.

Sadly i did not get to see the solar eclipse in my country, i live in singapore.

You can not appreciate one of the most spectacular celestial event like the total solar eclipse by watching videos. Your physical presence at the path of totality is a must. You will be blown away by thr experience if you are a first timer. I watched two annular (2012 in Nevada, 2019 Ooty, India) and a total one in 2017 in St. Louis).

Knew about it yesterday but from my view, the sky wasn’t getting any dark and it was cloudy! That was my only chance to see a solar eclipse for the first time ever!

What to do before the solar eclipse: - Prepare a “Solar eclipse glass” - Look at the internet for the location of “best spot” - Bring snacks as you wait for the eclipse Also… - Don’t forget to put a dirt block at your door before leaving, The monsters will break in! - Prepare a decent weapon with high dps - Wear at least an armor with 40 Defense point - Enhance your weapon, “Menacing” is preferable

Solar eclipse happen 1 day before the new month in Islam (Syawal). (The solar eclipse r not indicator of new month, it just meant for coincidence situation)

I witnessed and missed this solar eclipse wasn't able to seen it fully only saw the sky darken a couple of times, and thought it was just the clouds blocking the sun

Saw a total solar eclipse in the Philippines when I was in college in the Philippines and it went completely dark for a few minutes. Chickens thought it was night time and began to roost. Old rural folks thought it was the end of the world.

We had a similar eclipse in Uganda about 10 years ago, and we were told it only happens every 200years... It seems like we were lied to 🙄🙄🙄

I remember the one from 2013 I was outside and it didn’t last a long time but it was cool

Eclipses are fascinating. I saw the partial solar eclipse here in the Philippines and I took photos and videos. The roosters are crowing non-stop 🙂.

I could’ve witnessed this but I think me and my family unknowingly went into the supermarket at the exact time and missed it 😂

I took a photo of it, it was a partial eclipse, it took a while for the clouds to clear, when it was, my camera's contrast couldn't go low enough. And all I got was a blob of light.

There weren't 20 thousand visitors in Exmouth. Actually there were about 2 thousand (which is still a crowd in a small place like Exmouth. And only a tiny part of Australia - the cape on which Exmouth sits - saw a total eclipse.

We can see the solar eclipse clearly in our city but I deadass forgot about it and wondered why the whole day it looked like it was going to rain (like going to rain heavily but with ashy tone) but never rained 💀💀

It is authentically recorded that On the day prophet Muhammad’s (s.a.w.) son Ibrahim died there was a solar eclipse. The Arabs began saying that the sun eclipsed because of the death of the prophets son. During the eclipse he called for and lead the people for a prayer in congratulation and by the time they were finished the eclipse had passed. He then gave a sermon after praising and glorifying Allah he said, "The sun and the moon are two signs of the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse on the death or life of anyone. So when you see the eclipse, remember Allah, pray and give charity…..” You’d think that if he was lying about his prophethood he’d jump at the opportunity and claim that the eclipse was his doing or claim “that even the heavens are mourning with me” etc but he didn’t because he wasn’t lying about his prophethood.

Every solar eclipse I've ever experienced has been under the clouds. I guess it's the price of no water shortage.

last year october, i believe 25th or 27th i observed a partial solar eclipse from an island in the indian ocean. i knew the time so kept checking the sky for the moon since 3:30 pm. at around 4:40 the sun eclipsed. all the while i DID NOT see the moon in the sky. if the moon is suppose to move infront of the sun, you'd see it travelling at the sun long before the eclipse. so what is eclipsing the sun if it's not the moon? for those interested, start with the book "when the sun darks".

Too bad I can't see it in Bhutan, because I was staying at a clear place getting sweat until I realized it didn't happen on Bhutan😢
