Regardless of the print insinuations that Marilyn had brought on Gable's heart attack by her delays during the filming of The Misfits, Kay Gable made an extra effort to make sure Marilyn would be a part of her and Clark's son's baptism. Kay Gable had also written Marilyn while Monroe had been hospitalized at Payne Whitney and Columbia Presbyterian for depression. It was supposedly Marilyn's reaction to Gable's death that had convinced her psychiatrist, Dr. Kris, to have her stay at Payne Whitney.
