The original has so much quality that the re-release and reboot haven't. I think the most unforgivable is the suit of Draculaura, omg soo cheap. The material, the sewing, everything scream cheap!! But over that, i think its really sad that only Frankie, Draculaura and Clawdeen was sell alone but to have ghoulia, Cleo or Lagoona we needed bo buy a 6-pack dolls. i would be happy to have a rerelease lagoona doll even if all the passion made in the first release has desapeared but for a 6pack dolls I have to say forget me.
There probably have one nice update on the rerelease dolls. The original have an elastique at the hip joint but since the wave 2(not sure), its a plastic joint. So i guess the rerelease have plastic joint for the hip. What's more durable.
It’s super easy to tell for me: Cleo: her shoes are cheap as well as the top Frankie: earrings are solid blue,shoes are cheap Draculaura:..... girl. EVERYTHING Lagoona: the shoes and hair Ghoulia: for me it was the necklace. Clawdeen: she shoes as well as her leotard
floangel they are losing profit :( makes me sad but it is what it is. maybe another company will pick it up or the creator of monster high will be granted rights to his creations and be able to start up a new product
All the originals are my favorite! I mean the details, the fierce faces, the quality! Whats not to love! And I think the original Cleo's wonk eyes give her a special charm🙈
The quality of Draculaura & Frankies reboot are so bad! kinda surprised me since they're probably the most popular characters for kids. I preferred Cleo's reboot, aside from the shoes. old cleos face is a lil funky. it's a shame the skipped out on the clothing & accessory details. These could have been great.
Why does the reboot dolls like the electrified dolls have articulation Some people are mad that they don’t have it but they do Like some of the reboot dolls have articulation and some don’t?
Wow Karen's was already changing the dolls back then lol the longer skirts, cutter faces, lighter makeup... But tbh I like Draculaura and Lagoona rerelease face better
The only thing I like about the new versions is their faces as they feel more like the show EXCEPT Frankies. I think the big forehead and her somewhat far apart eyes suit her better, but Cleos and Ghoulias are just scary. It’s a shame that retailers and the people in charge of production cared so little about the quality of the dolls. They were true fashion icons in my mind and for them to only care about loosing money is a shame. That’s like making a Victoria secret model wear underwear that was from Walmart, nobody wants to see that.
Yha I can agree, Mattel has also been skipping out on Barbie too. The new fashionistas that have different handicaps and skin colors just don’t have good outfits. Like yay inclusivity but why do they have to look like trash?
I think Ghoulia and Cleo were the best ones, maybe Lagoona too, mostly because they are the hardest original dolls to get. I really liked your video.👌😊
Yes they were the hardest to find most especially that they weren't reissued in 2013 with Frankie, Draculaura, and Clawdeen making them the most re-released out of all 6 of the basic ghouls.
most of re issues were pretty decent (i especially liked that their eyes were closer together) but draculaura and lagoon were a HUGE disappointment, kinda looks like the draculaura rerelease outfit was homemade
They probably make molded on tops so Childern don’t lose all the clothes ( also in dolls made to go underwater kinda have to have molded on tops and in dolls that light up well it also is a bit mandatory)
Ahhhh they massacred my girl Lagoona 😭 I’m sorry but I much preferred her longer, wavy hair with the original hair style. It comes off like a pretty sea princess. I also think the hair is flatter on her original maybe to fit the hood better over her head? Idk it doesn’t bother me though because it’s stunning. Especially her little side bangs. The newer one just cut her hair length in half, got rid of the original hair style, and made it look super poofy and frizzy. It gives off the impression that she’s a lot younger or that Frankie accidentally fell into the water and electrocuted her 😬 The Karen’s strike again, ruining the original designs for everyone. I’d rather them re release these dolls separately and with more detail than altogether in a big pack tbh...
This really hit some nostalgia I remember my sister walking out of Walmart on her birthday with this pack and we opened it in our car and played with them the whole way home. I was like 4 so she was about 9 maybe 8
Honestly I'm glad that they changed some things so when I'm trying to find the originals on ebay I can look for the giveaways to see if it's the original or the reboot haha. Also I agree Cleo is the best reboot.
I surely like more the originals. Also I liked Frankie big forhead, it added to the character and helps for girls insecure of their forheads, I mean, it helped me

Honestly my favorite was Frankie because I like the new face. The original looked kinda derpy and the color was much darker on the original while the newer one was a little more vibrant which I like (don’t come for me)
I like the originals more because I think they have more detail like Cleo with her head band is all diamond color with gold and the other one just has all gold and also I dont like any of the new dolls faces like Frankie draculaura and cleo's they look a little bit messed up and flatter with giant eyes?! Those are not the dolls I know.
Tbh, the quality in the dolls went downhill when the re-issue dolls were released. Something about the original dolls that I admired when I was in second grade in about 2011-2012 was how unique looking the dolls were. With the re issue original ghoul dolls it seems they left out those small details that made the original monster highs so breath taking. And the far apart eyes were such a lovely thing about the originals that I would never have wanted changed. It’s been years since I’ve had the originals and all I can say is I miss Monster High 2010-2013, the power and joy that could be brought back to stores if the original creators met up and decided to recreate all the original dolls and doll lines :(... I want those girls back that taught me that being a freak was fabulous...
Thanks for making this. I recently bought a Frankie second hand that I thought was the original first wave, but turns out she's from the 6 pack. That's okay I think I like the remake better actually, but I think I'll paint the jewelry to match the original
In my opinion Cleo is the only acceptable one. Even if the shoes don't have black platforms they look so pretty in gold. Her face is better than the original one because the original one is looking in different directions not gonna lie!
Tbh I like the old dolls. I love this video and I'm using it to determine if my signature Frankie doll I just orded was the original and not rerelease one.
We need a monster high comeback!! That would turn 2020 ALL the way around! I’m not into dolls anymore but I would LOVE to see monster high come back. I might actually buy some monster high dolls if they come back with the same quality before the re boot
I have never fully inspected the reissues but knew that they were significantly lower quality, but the Draculaura takes the cake for the worst doll of the set! That one hurt me. 😥
The second i saw the boots on the original Clawdeen i almost started crying because i have lost them when i was 7/8 years old and i regret it so much!😭 But i think i will try to remake her boots,i just love them too much

Before watching this all the way I do want to say that I have the release Draculaura and I think she I pretty cool. Also MUCH, MUCH cheaper than the original. I think if it's a better buy, go for it.
i have draculaura the re make all thought its cheap i like how u can rlly do much with it and u dont have to keep it on shelf like the good ones but i like the re makes because there better how u can play with it
I will just recommend to buy these dolls because they’re cheaper : D and if you want original fit just buy the original clothes because it’s pretty cheap :)
I have to say, I love what they did with the new hair for Clawdeen and Lagoona! Other than that, all the outfits are a trainwreck and I miss the vibe and quality of OG monster high :)
The face screening used for Frankie, Draculaura, and Clawdeen are identical to the 2013 reissues. The only difference between them besides the clothing quality was the length of their hair. 2013 reissues had the same exact clothes with the OG 2010 Version too.
OKAY so when I was little and at the toy store (which also doesn’t exist where I live anymore 😢) my FIRST monster high doll was original Frankie..but she was the reboot which i didn’t realize when I got her bc I didn’t know a lot about monster high. So now the original Frankie looks kinda weird to me bc I’m used to the reboot since I played with her more
This reminds me of when I had my own mh dolls. It was about 4-5 years ago and I had a lagauna, draculora, frankie and claudine. I miss them now it was so fun to play with them
@@goodieparade Sadly no, at the time I was moving a lot so they either got thrown away to make space or I just got rid of them for some reason. I wouldn't have if I new that they would've been downgraded to only having bendable legs and cheep hair.
Do you do ever after high? I've been collecting all the originals (and restoring them and buying all of their accessories). All I need is Crystal Winter to complete the signature doll collection

They need to do better if they still sold monster high dolls and looked the same I would still buy them and I’m in high school lol they were just so pretty 🥰
Mattel downgraded just to appeal to a small demographic of rude and scared parents. The dolls didn't make kids self conscious. Literally ONLY the parents disliked them. Kids found them amazing, beautiful and unique yet all the brand cared about was the money. Then again that goes for all things. Still sad to see them do this...
I will say the og dolls are best cause that is where my heart is,plus better details. However a lot of the remakes have better physical details and less of the matte ish colors and more shine to them which is nice. The hair on a few was nice. On the newer ones I don't like them mostly cause of the clothes, not the same detail and or quality of hair.
i think my favorite like face was is definitely draculaura but quality wise i think they did frankie the best outfit wise but i think my faveorite is probably draculaura only bc i love her but quality wise frankie wins
The quality for re-release of the wave 1 dolls are cheap ngl i have pros and cons for theses re-releases Pro: some things you borrow from the re-release dolls if the original wave dolls are missing something Con: the re-release accessories are the same colors even though the original accessories were color differently Pro: the re-releases dolls have some differences that i personally like how re-release cleo's eyes are not apart and not bug-like eyes Con: re-release Draculaura the only thing like about her is her face and pigtails other then that she's nothing compared to the original wave Draculaura Pro: they are cheap but not reboot cheap they have the normal points of movement like pre-reboot dolls
