I’ll never forget when I was just peacefully playing the game and talking with my Pokémon and the space-time distortion appeared right on top of me. Not only was I scared but I was confused as well and died as SOON as the Pokémon started spawning. Good times 👍
What's your characters name? Because other players can find your lost items and when they return to laventon your items will be returned and the player that found them will get a small reward. I may have found yours but idk
I do wish you could target multiple enemies at once, like you could in previous games with Swift, Earthquake, Surf, Rock Slide, etc. It would make the double, and triple battles in this game easier!
Also why cant we have 2 or more pokemon out to battle at a time? Especially when some story/request battles have your single pokemon taking on 2 or 3 at once
Cool thing i noticed with the distortions, if you look on the map at the distortions icon, there's a little circle timer that lets you know how long left till it starts or ends. I like to check on it whenever one spawns so i know how long i have left to get the rare pokemon while in a distortion or how long i have left to get to it before it starts. I thought i was imagining it at first since it's very transparent but it is there.
Wish I knew that, I ended up sitting in the distortion thinking it was broken I left it to look at the small crack in the sky. As soon as started hearing the loud distortion noises and the circle started filling with darkness I finally figured out that it was finally starting,

I experienced my first space-time distortion today and what an experience that was. At first nothing was happening, just lighting and some local pokemon, then it was an ambush and I was totally caught off guard. I was able to catch about 6 or 7 pokemon including leafeon and an alpha lickitung! Man it was intense! But I blacked out and lost a lot of useful materials and my smoke bombs :( I learned to take the bare minimum into these.
My first distortion yielded Sylveon and a linking cable. That Sylveon was dubbed "Freddie the Bass Cannon", the strongest user of Hyper Beam on my team of physical attackers.
Another tip for situations similar to 11:50 is while the Pokémon are turned around or readying an attack and you run behind them, as long as you hit them in the back to initiate battle and catch it unaware the battle will only be with that Pokémon. I’ve never had another Pokémon join a unaware initiated battle myself so you can always 1v1 everything that way
Immediately after one of your previous videos, where you said wanted us to experience it for ourselves, I found one like 15 minutes after. I was both excited by the spawns yet terrified that they were all ganging up on me. RN I only need espeon to complete the eevee line but still, need to fill their pokedex level. Also I found alpha sylveon in one of the distortions

That "Lock-out" glitch happened for me too, where a space-time distortion hasn't spawned for a really REALLY long time after my first one. In my case I didn't know space-time distortions disappeared when you closed the game and so I saw a shiny Eevee in the distortion (it ran away so I reset) and the distortion was gone. I haven't gotten another distortion for hours of gameplay.
Something similar happened to me. After I beat the final boss, I stopped getting distortions entirely. I didn't start getting them again for another week, after I beat the mission for the genie pokemon. Might be coincidence, I'm not sure
Have you guys figured anything out I beat the game and haven’t gotten a distortion for a really long time try to search it up nothing do you have any new info or how to fix it?
Mine came back after I completed Cogita's missions. She mentions distortions. Might be coincidence, but that's what happened for me. She has you gather thundurus, landurus, and tornadus. Afterwards you gotta max their pokedex research level. And then you have to get a 4th pokemon and max them too. Then she's done.
These caught me by surprise when they started appearing. I went inside my first one and all these Pokémon started attacking me lol. All the rare items on the ground make these even better. I’ve caught some fossil Pokémon, eveelutions, sneasel (original) and others from these distortions. Also, I love watching them form and materialize. It is so cool.
I really like the distortions, the idea and the actual implementation of them is really cool and fun. I’ve also found a shiny during my playthrough in one, that being a Magneton. Due to the noise in there I didn’t hear the sparkles and when running away from a horde in there I noticed the Magneton looked a little brown.
Same here love how they put the evolutionary items in the distortions I was able to get a magmortar gallade and scizor all from one distortion event bc of evolutionary items that were there
@DLV Arcade Shiny rates aren’t boosted in distortions as far as I’m aware. Shinies overall seem just more common since I found a shiny Glameow and Hippopotas that weren’t in distortions during my playthrough as well as the Magneton that was.
My first distortion I read the tutorial and went “oooh rare rewards!” So I went over and nothing was happening. Little did I know that in approximately five seconds it would open and spawn two alpha Pokémon, one being an Onix. I barely made it out alive
@@luciabasterra6834 apparently they rarely appear in them and you just gotta check the distortion. Watch the video for more info for the exact locations of each starter.
The distortion areas are definitely exciting 😆. So far i haven't dared to take on the Pokemon yet, but i've been darting around in them trying to pick up as many items as i can😅

These definitely seem to be happening more frequently as I level up my stars, I’m nearly at 8 stars and have unlocked and went through second area but have not started the story there at all. I seem to go catch an alpha, grab a few more, start heading back to finish my expedition and BAM there’s another Distortion rift 😁
Your locked out of a bunch of things by not doing the story. Leaving it late isnt the best of ideas. Certain things wont be accessable including legendarys but much more aswell.
@@johnfrankster3244 You are right, as a matter of fact after putting 40 hours in I decided to restart and do it differently. I decided to run through the story all the way to receiving Basculegion (while catching as few different Pokémon as possible to achieve necessary star rank) and then go back and try to get as many of the Pokémon done from each area as I can in one excursion. I’d like to see how much money and research points can be farmed by catching nearly every Pokémon in an area for the first time and completing the dex entry. I got 80,000 from my first game by turning in over 100 Pokémon at once, and jumped two star ranks from that one report
Also update: Even with my new playthrough with fewer stars just hanging out in one area spawns a lot, frequency seems to vary from “where are the distortions?” up to “holy crap another one?”

Same here! Though one of my 3 is the free shiny Ponyta, and the other 2 are a Bidoof that I got while trying to get an Eevee to spawn with Austin's method, and a Driftblim that just popped up while I was running around at night! What are yours?
@@WittyPractitioner wait I got these the exact same way. Trying to get an eevee i got bidoof and drifloon. I caught 6 shinies just today though: yanmega, glalie, snorunt, alpha gabite, paras, and budew!! All from one day of shiny hunting. This game is insane. I randomly also found a shiny graveler like yesterday too!

I subscribed a few months ago. I usually don't subscribe channels I'm only really interested in shortly after and before a Pokémon game has been released. I usually get those videos in my recommended anyway and I don't care for the channels in the meantime. However, the amount of work and effort you put into your research has changed my mind. You put so many hours into figuring out the best methods to do things, it's actually crazy. I also appreciate the lengths you go to make sure you're not spoiling anything, as opposed to just saying: "The game's out, gotta accept that there are spoilers now, deal with it." I used to only watch videos on info I'm actually looking for and not on stuff I already know or figured out myself, but in your case I just watch all the videos, because it's just fun. Your hard work and likable personality made e change my mind on the subscription thing. You deserve the sub for all of that. I'm no longer exclusively watching for information on the games, but also for you as a person.
I've had an Alpha Magnezone spawn up on me in the Coastal Highlands (Gingko Landing) in the middle of a distortion field. Serebii also has Magnezone listed in the distortion spawn table.
Im very disappointed no one noticed this. Exactly at 15:58 Austin switched to handheld mode, and the video audio changed to make it seem like its coming from the switch. And when he put it back on the stand, the audio switched back to normal. Such a neat little easter egg!

Magnezone does spawn naturally like you said, but you can also find Magnezone in Coastland Distortions. That's how I was able to catch mine before the third Noble battle.

I ALWAYS have ALL notifications on for Austin. I hate when we’re in between games and there’s no content but I LOVE these heavy doses of it! When I get a Space-Time Distortion, I stock up on good items, rest my Pokémon, and free up space in my pastures. Then I head out. I usually get a pretty good haul.
This helped a lot. I lured an alpha Leafeon with a berry and just as I threw a feather ball at its back a Lickitung ran up behind it getting in the way.

I had no idea that space-time distortions were even a thing in this game, and my very first one..... spawned literally ON TOP of me. For those that haven't experienced THAT, it is..... extremely loud and startling lol
fun fact about this, you'd only need to know where the starters are in this if you're willing to shiny hunt; otherwise, you can go straight to the professor in the post game to claim the other two starters to get your dex going :)
I don't know why but recently I have been paying attention to the way people edit their videos and can I say that I absolutely love it when the music becomes more distant when you undock the Switch and it picks back up when you dock the Switch again. Top notch

One of the best experiences I had in a distortion what’s when this alpha Porygon-Z appeared. It knocked out my entire team twice but thankfully, I was able to revive my Electrode, whittled down its hp and finally caught it. I felt accomplished

I failed a shiny Haunter during one of these, I wasn’t tripping cause I have a lot of those from previous games. But it threw me off and it happened so fast, he spawned and dipped 💀
same here i missed an eevee & i couldnt get into battle with it in time because i was getting hit by kadabras so it just disappeared.. but yeah good thing i at least have a ton in sword from the den exploit. still, i really wanted a shiny one in this game to journey with & evolve
@@PanchX0 Same, I had a shiny Rhydon appear during a distortion, so I saved the game. I failed the catch, loaded the saved game and the distortion was gone.

I've been frantically catching eevees and their evolutions, completely ignoring every other pokemon that spawns (I had no idea some were rare). I saw a Leafeon and lost my mind in my first distortion. Now I have insane good stats on an Espeon and Sylveon due to catching so many Eevees. I have like 30 Eevees.

i was looking into shiny hunting recently, then after following some guides and steps, i suddenly got my first shiny in a mass outbreak and its a geodude. after i got my geodude i followed another mass outbreak and i got shiny hippopotas and i was really surprised the outbreak spawned 2 in a row after i caught the first shiny hippo. and i was carrying my geodude so i named the guy Lucky Nugget XD
I don't know if it was good or bad luck, but I ran into 2 alpha Gengar at the same time. They both just spawned on top of me as I was going for an item on the ground. Talk about a shock.

Saw two, but was only able to interact with one. The first one I saw was on the other side of a river that I could only get to the other side of via a bridge that was on the other end of the map.
Not sure if that was your editing or whatever, but I totally caught and appreciated the way your background music changed when you undocked/redocked your switch.
I followed your advice and waited for the screen to dim, and the distortion didn’t appear. I paused the game to rewatch the vid, and when I unpaused the distortion appeared immediately. I got really lucky.
Every time I check my notification box I hope there’s a video from you out, and lately there always has been, thanks for all the videos you’ve been posting lately.
If anyone is still confused how to spawn distortions there’s a percentage for the distortion to spawn and how much that percentage is increased is determined by how active you are so killing Pokémon catching Pokémon gathering material’s doing anything but the most effective way I found to increase the percentage is the alpha Pokémon just fly around and kill all the alpha Pokémon you’ll get a distortion to spawn in 30 minutes or less almost guaranteed
@@WarlockNoxs did you by chance have a hoard at the same time cause they can sometimes effect the space time distortion to just not spawn but I tested it with hoards and it still worked most of the time if your having issues just make sure there’s not a hoard and reset the location and try again
