Thanks for the update vid....nice pick ups.....you have one of the more respectful collections on RU-vid without all of those sports fillers......I hope to do my own PS3 collection vid sometime in the future. I don't frequent GameStop ever., I just hate the way they ruin the cases with those stickers......especially the older cases with the embossed PS logo on top.
Everyone collects a little differently. I only really purchase whatever generation is being currently being phased out at GameStops which is the 7th gen right now and I only buy used. I hate those stickers too but they've gotten better. Those square yellow EB stickers were the worst. No amount of goo gone helps. I can usually get the stickers off at some point but I have boxes of extra cases too from my old game store. I know a lot of ppl really hate GameStop. I myself don't pre order anything their and I don't normally buy new stuff their. All the used 7th gen stuff is really cheap. There are times I walk out with a bag full games that I might've paid $2 a piece for. That and there return policy is really nice. If I find a case or manual in better condition than what I have, I've been known to buy that one and return my old case in place. It's a lot of work to do it that way and most the GameStops in my area just let me have the cases now. You'd be surprised what they let u do if u tell them you'll write a stellar review about them on the receipt they give u. Unless you're buying game lots on eBay, it's hard to get a really nice collection online for cheap. EBay used to be under retail. Now it's become a scalpers paradise and u might snag a game for $5 under the current used rate if you're lucky. Whatever works for the collectors. Flea markets aren't as good as they used to be. Goodwill looks everything up now. I saw a Final Fantasy 7 green label missing disc 3 and they had $50 stickered on it the other day. Garage sales u can come out on top but u might be driving for 50 miles before u see a video game but when u find something, it's usually a pretty good deal. Collecting has become a lot harder than it was 5-10 years ago. Whenever u make your video leave a comment in one of my videos and I'll check it out. It's always interesting to see what others have and what's hard to find near them. I find location can make a huge difference. Well thanks for watching and commenting. Thanks for taking the time to do these uploads. There's a lamentable lack of interest for any game out there which is trying to break the norms of the industry, and i can't even find a full/worthy/credible/readable release schedule for Ps3 titles in 2016; you'd think the console was already dead. Ascension of the Metatron for christmas then, thanks to you Michael.
HA ! I did get El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron for christmas. It was awful. Absolute dumb-down. As thin as you can get. You should probably notify people when you're promoting something which is dumb-down.....

Awesome pick ups :) Top gun is interesting because i didn't know that 505 games still realeses games after 2010. Anyway every yakuza games are rare. Yakuza 2 the most but it is very cheaper in PAL. I must buy yakuza 3. In Europe it have bonus content disc co i must watch out to buy with this.
Great video, and I've been doing the same thing for the past couple of years. I haven't traveled much recently so it's mostly been hitting my local stores, but I've still managed some great finds. Found a complete Sega Superstars Tennis at a GS last week for $3, that's one I don't see very often. Also managed to get a complete Rock Band Country Track Pack for the same price. I hate country music, but I'm now 1 game away (RB Country Track Pack #2) from having every RB game on the PS3 and I already have all of the GH games. It's a great time to collect PS3 games right now because GS still carries them & is marking them down cheaper & cheaper. Dunno how much longer that will last tho.
The 7th gen is different than the previous generations I've collected for. You'll notice when PS3 and 360 games start to phase out. Retail stores with quit taking them as trade in and sometimes u can ask. It will take 6-12 months to completely phase out once that happens tho. Wii is going to be different in my opinion and the first of the 7th gen I phase out. Wii was tailored to the casuals and most casual gamers don't keep their games. Demand for Wii games is pretty sparse. Most of the stuff is shovel ware and GameStop has been running BOGO sales on used Wii games like every other month now. The Wii only has another 12 months, maybe 18 months at most.
LOL my copy of splatter house is in the same state as yours, the only other time I found splatter house was in a pawn shop complete but very scratched and crazy over priced. You should give SH on the PS3 another try if you beat all the levels you unlock SH 1-2-3 from the genesis.

Michael, if you ever come across the game, "Godzilla," it was only released for PS3 and PS4. The PS3 version was only released in PAL regions as "Godzilla King Of Monsters," but won't play on NTSC televisions. The version that will is a Japanese exclusive, only known as "Godzilla." The PS3 game was never released in North America. The PS4 was.
Im not going for a complete set but I have around 250 PS3 games sofar, not sure if you know about it but I have a game called Ra One, it was an Indian exclusive with European ratings on the box. I have a complete PAL GameCube set all 447 games CiB
i am a sony fanboy and was collecting ps3 versions of games and stuck with xbox 360 exclusives.....then i won an xbox one, now im finding myself buying 360 copies of games i own on ps3 because of its backwards compatibility.
whats your total count up to? im up to about 410 with no plan to complete, just to get the uncommons/exclusives/compilations. i need to make some vids as PS3 collector's think alike and agree with a lot of your opinions there are a couple that I haven't seen anybody talk about that will be worth mentioning

Don't know if you have Conan for Ps3 I just found a complete copy at gamestop for 2.99 its pretty hard to find but not expensive. Also Front mission evolved is a pain in the neck to find thankfully I at least have the box in case I run into a disc only and I am currently on the hunt for Splatter house
do you ever do eBay or amazon? you were saying you were going to a lot of gamestops to find splatter house so I was curious why you didn't try to find online great video btw
I do Amazon but I've been burned with eBay too many times. All my pre orders and new stuff comes from Amazon now. They do sell out fast with the limited and collector's editions tho so I buy them where ever available. I like being able to see what I'm buying and I like physical stores when buying used items. It's probably the old school in me. I still buy CD's too. I travel a lot, so going to different GameStops is a way that I get around without it feeling like work all the time. Most the 7th gen games I look for are usually cheaper than the online counterparts. Plus I can return any used item back to any GameStop regardless where I purchased it. If I ever had second thoughts about a game I just return it with no hassle.

I think there's 2 different region 1 games both published by Atlus with a 3rd on the way. Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishment The Testament of Sherlock Holmes. I think are then names. I've seen both but both are $15-$20 a piece right now. I'm looking to buy them a little cheaper $5-$10. I don't see either that often so maybe I should just go ahead and buy them. Those are good picks tho and I've had my eye on them.
+Michael Young wow that's good I mean the price I am a collector in Canada so everything is basically x2 the American price so I usually have to get Japanese games for 30 +tax and that's the least expensive ones so I'm kinda of jealousy I wish I lived in America
shen lou that sucks. I always never understood Canada and their pricing compared to the same products just miles away in the States. Canadians drive to the States during the holidays to buy gifts cheaper, wouldn't it just be easier to make the prices fair in Canada? I know that definitely sucks especially as a collector and I'm sorry it's not different for u. If it's any consolation (which I'm sure it's not) Australia has it the absolute worse for not only prices on games but censorship too. They pay some nose bleed prices on video games and some games get a lot of stuff censored that no other country gets censored. I know I've signed many petitions for my Canadian gamer friends (and my Aussie ones as well) but to no avail. You're probably a smarter, more thrifty and better shopper than most. I'd say having patience is probably the cheapest way to play video games in Canada. Getting games day 1 is exciting and no one wants to play the latest games months or years after they come out and everyone else is talking about them and referencing them but if u can wait even just a month or try to find it used, I think those are pretty universal ways to save money on gaming.

Nope. Actually now is a really good time to speculate on the entire 7th gen. We won't really find out the worth and collecability of these games until they're phased out of retail stores and become much harder to find. It took about 3-4 years after stores quit carrying 6th gen games before they really started to gain some really high prices.

Not every game I show is rare. I like to show every game I pick up over time and give my thoughts on each one. It's usually to give a price point, different editions there might be, why I picked it up as a collector, who it's published or developed by, and if I think it's a fun game. I don't explain everything in that detail but I hit on a couple of those with each game. I'm aware it might be misleading and confusing but that's not my intention. I try to at least tell everyone that not all the games I'm show are rare and their rarity is purely speculation and my opinions in most of my videos. I definitely could be wrong about any of this. Plus I couldn't put in the title "rare, valuable and collectable (Wii, 360, PS3) games" Rare, valuable and collectable games aren't always one and the same but those are the main reasons collectors collect video games. Well besides playing and enjoying games.
