The Temptations group you have there on Goldisc, is known today, primarily for their 1960 recording of, "Barbara", which was big in the New York City area. There was another "Temptations" group recording a year or two earlier than the "Barbara" group, as well as, another group calling themselves, The Four Temptations. None of the groups are related to the 60's Motown group that came along later.

Really nice 45 finds Mike! I have the Danny Piel & Apollos 45 but without the sleeve. It's a pretty good 60's teen R&R record (both sides). Also have the Paul Champlain & Emeralds 45 - "Nicotine" is by far the best side! I also just found a copy of that Rolling Stones odd label variation 45 - I think it is a re-ish but still very cool. Let me know if you ever make it up my way in Harrisburg, Penna - I have MANY boxes of 45s for sale that I've hoarded through the years - and there are huge car shows down the pike in Carlisle!
Thanks. I have a bunch of family in Pennsylvania. My mother is from Philadelphia. A cousin still owns a farm near Pottsville that my great grandparents bought in 1919.
hi mike, you always impress me with the variety of these obscure 45s you pick up! really nice and interesting records and it's always fun to learn about these from your knowledge of them. i have that tony castle on east west and the deane hawley on dore, nice pop and rock 45s . i have a handful of deane hawley 45s on dore which is one of my favorite labels from the 50s and 60s. love seeing what you get because most of these 45s i have never seen or heard about before, thanks again for sharing these, cool, cool stuff! take care, rob
Could that Danny Piel and the Apollos 45 have anything to do with a toy called the jingle jump that was our around the same time? It looks like the cavemen on the cover are wearing them on their feet.
