This is a great conversation to have! I've seen people selling plants listed as 'Cream Splash' where there is no cream whatsoever, so why would I pay more for that? It seems that a number of various plants do not have stable variegation and increasing listings that read "possibly reverted"... I'm not paying for that. Many plants, I even prefer the more common version, anyway, such as scindapsus, I prefer the regular old pictus argyraeus form because it's a higher contrast to the leaves.

I am with you 100% LOL! By the way this is the video that made me hit subscribe! The whole Rio Brazil silverstripe thing is ridiculous! Both of the more expensive versions of Brazil are simply Sports marketed at a higher price! Also with you on the Crimson princess/ obovata situation!

Brazil, neon and green, grows faster and doesn't burn in sunlight. I rooted several Rio...takes about 2 months to root and grow 1 new leaf per stem

Loved your advice. I have a golden pothos that was new 40 years ago, I repotted for the first time in years and added a pole. Can't wait to see if it gets fenestration. Agree about micans, I got one this year and added a pole also

I paid 30. for Brandi for a 4 inch pot. We don't have them in the south east in KY. I don't buy two leaf cuttings. Ridiculous! pothos is easier and bigger leaves than philodendron.

I thought the same thing When i first saw a variegated Heart Leaf Philodendron. Why spend $50+ on a plant cutting that looks pretty much the same as a plant that can be sold in a hanging basket for about $15-$20? And the same with this "Aurea" Variegated plants. Like seriously, I'd you want an Aurea Variegated plant, seriously get a golden Pothos and stake it up. Plant collecting is crazy 🤣🤣

I love my plants, but I have not spent more than $30 for a plant with a pot! I have very common plants. I feel like right now everyone wants the " rare" expensive plants right now and are truly overlooking the beauty of the common plants!

Im not missing the variegated monstera🤗. My golden pothos has big leaves now and already makes me happy🥰. Ive grown it from a 4 inch plant. Took me atleast 4-5 years to get big leaves but its worth it👍.My P. Brasil changes form a lot so its good enough for me😁

Those variegated monstera grow slow- risky for root rot. Too much light causes burns on the white parts

Sodiroi is my favorite philodendron. I'd rather have it than brandtianum any day. Brandtianum is so fussy! It does nothing but put out squirrely weird little leaves. I don't love it.
