"For anybody who changes his principles depending on whom he's dealing with, that not a.man who can lead a Nation" Nelson Mandela Honestly you did paralyzed the man tho😂
It is not a mistake; it is an ideology based on a history of capitalist domination, colonialism, genocide, sense of superiority, etc. that have been inculcated in the minds of Westerners since childhood and school. How is that a mistake? History is not a mistake; it is what states and people do in a particular social and political economic context to advance their ideological and material interests, mainly the interests of the rulers and the ruling classes. Modern European states, for example, were formed by wars and destruction. Mandela fell into the trap of Western liberal thinking and global capitalist trappings. Thus he could not lay the ground for a just and free South Africa after apartheid. Today SA is the most unequal society on earth.
agreed but it's more like the interests of American politicians & ruling class aren't the interests of the American people let alone the rest of the world

It's because Nelson Mandela is speaking up against white supremacy apartheid oppression. Why don't the US and British political leaders acknowledge Nelson Mandela's condemnation towards Israel's apartheid regime? It's because they're racist white supremacist themselves, trying to cover up the truth about Israel and its lawless apartheid regime 😅
The Palestinian struggle lead me to this interview. He talks his mind without need to bend his words to please others. Hope Africa unites as one and be one of world respected power in years to come
When I watched this for the first time and there was a few seconds of silence between Koeppel and Mandela, I literally went to check the volume on my tablet to make sure the volume was up before Mandela spoke.😂😂😂

No one has the right to dominate over any other human. That’s not the way of love. That’s not the way of respect. That’s not the way of God. Nelson Mandela .. thank you so much for living out your calling & fulfilling your purpose. 🙏🏽👑🕊️
What wasn't shown here in this clip was Mr Mandela also said that Israel's treatment of the Palestinian people was very much like the Apartheid in South Africa and he was strong not to support that, nor be weighed down by fear of offending Jewish leaders who supported him and his cause. He stood strong on that point because he understood what the Palestinian people were going through. No man can be afraid of being called antisemitic just because he calls Israel an Apartheid state.

Unbiased response from Nelson Mandela. A great person and a great leader. The world is in a mess right now due to lack of leaders like Mr. Nelson Mandela.

We as South Africans stands with Palestine, they deserve justice just like any human beings on this earth. No country is better than the other regardless of their status or favoritism
Pro-Palestinians like to leave out that he also mentions Israel has a right to exist 🤷♂️... Nelson Mandela was a genuinely smart man, he wouldn't be suckered into blindly following the narrative of one side. Mandela was against the OPPRESSION of the people of Palestine, not against themilitary victory of the Israeli forces against several Arab nations. People keep acting like Palestine would've been magically born out of the Arab invasion, I have my doubts. I would've probably resembled the Scramble of Africa more than anything, which I can't imagine Mandela was a big fan of.

Pure gold! Mandela peeped Ted Koeppel's true motives which most likely was from a personal standpoint anyway. Left him SPEECHLESS and, from my recollection, that was a very rare occurrence with Ted which makes that moment even more special.💯💯💯
Immediately after that Mandela gave him a truce handshake to assure him that he meant n harm, Nelson Mandela was a true definition of a gentleman, very classy individual.
*"One of the mistakes which some political analysts make it to think that their enemies should be our enemies.... (emphasis added) Our attitude toward any country is determined by the attitude of that country to our struggle.... That is the position."* -Nelson Mandela
As a Muslim this opened my eyes. What an amazing man Mandela was. Today his message of wholeheartedly rejecting apartheid rings true still. The Palestinian people need us, as do areas within Africa such as Sudan and Congo.
Alhumdulilah. And in this clip you will see that Surah Kafirun has proven itself. The Jewish ppl have a problem with Mandela for associating with ppl that they disagree with. And one by one, they try to drive the point home to convince Mandela that what he believes in is not only wrong but "immoral" from their perspective. Hence Surah Kafirun says: Say, O Prophet, " Oh you disbelievers, I do not worship what you worship Nor do you worship what I worship I will never worship what you worship Nor will you worship what I worship You have you way, and I have my way. Surah Baqarah Never will the Jews and the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the only guidance. If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you will have no friend for you against Allah, nor a helper. This does not only pertain to religion but any subject that interests them. And we know that Allah manifests any and all things in due time. And this applies to yesterday, today, forever and always.
The coldest line of the whole interview-notwithstanding that the entire interview was 🔥fire - was when Mandela said, “I don’t know if I paralyzed you!” Damn, that was Cold 🥶!! Love it! Mandela was speaking truth to power during the whole interview ❤
So let me get this right. They expected that after 27 years of imprisonment they thought that they were going to oppress him by forcing him to agree with their oppressive conduct.

There were no Palestinians in Israel 200 years ago; Arabs began to appear in Israel after Zionist Jews began to settle there. Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol - 1848. From a letter to Zhukovsky (02/28/1850), in which Gogol describes his impressions of his pilgrimage to Palestine: Noting that in ancient times it was “possibly” a flourishing country, Gogol writes: “but now, when it is rare, rare to see five or six olive trees along the entire slope of the mountain, the color of their land is as grayish and dusty as the most the rocks of the mountains, when only a thin layer of moss and patchy patches of grass turn green in the middle of this naked, uneven field of stones, and after some five or six hours of travel you come across an Arab’s hut somewhere stuck to the mountain, more like a clay pot, a stove , an animal burrow than a human dwelling - how can you recognize the land of milk and honey in such a place? Imagine, in the midst of such desolation, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and all the eastern cities, looking like randomly stacked piles of stones and bricks; imagine the Jordan, skinny in the middle of the naked mountainous surroundings, here and there overshadowed by small willow bushes; imagine in the midst of such desolation at the feet of Jerusalem the valley of Jehoshaphat with several stones and grottoes, as if the tombs of the kings of Judah.” “Really, I don’t know what I can tell you about Palestine that would lead you to beneficial thoughts and encourage you to take up your pen and your poem with inspiration.” Mark Twain - 1867. "Simps Abroad" Palestine can rightfully be considered a queen among lands whose very appearance causes despondency. Its mountains are barren and ugly, their colors are dull. The valleys are unsightly deserts with stunted vegetation, which emanates melancholy and squalor. The Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee sleepily numb among the deserted mountains and plains, where there is nothing to rest the eye on - there is nothing bright or striking here, there are no gentle landscapes dormant in a purple haze or dotted with the shadows of clouds floating in the sky. All cutting outlines, all lines are clear; there is no perspective here - in the distance everything is just as devoid of charm as up close. A joyless, gloomy and mournful land. However, some of its shreds and shreds must be beautiful in the bloom of spring - all the more beautiful since they are surrounded on all sides by a bare desert, which has no end or edge. I would very much like to see the banks of the Jordan in the spring, and Shechem too, and Ezdrilon, and Aijalon, and the shores of the Sea of Galilee - but even in the spring they would all seem like just toy gardens, planted far from each other in the endless desert. Palestine is a deserted and unsightly land... Palestine no longer belongs to our everyday life; prosaic world. It is given over to poetry and legends - it is a land of dreams

You truly are a lucky person! My mum took me to an exhibition in London about Nelsinho Mandela and the life he led was honestly beautiful. He suffered so much, and yet it changed the lives of so many.
He was great, that's unquestionable but what do you have at your disposal to believe that there will never be a greater president going foward? and How do you define a great president?
Tata. We are still following your example as your children in South Africa. Our stance hasn't changed and we are still in solidarity with our comrades in Palestine.
Mandela said what he want and what he thought not what the Americans wanted him to say. He spent years of his age in prison because he opposed racism and discrimination and he struggled till he won of course the winner was the whole society of Africa but Mandela was the iconic leader of the struggle and for this the whole world still remember him while those leaders who lay down and did as USA wanted are either forgotten or mentioned in the negative way Africa is proud of Mandela

The real lesson here is that once you find ways to excuse savage terrorism in your own country, you can excuse it in other countries too, and receive standing ovations from other would-be terrorists. Having a conscience is very inconvenient to a terrorist and is the first thing they dispense with. This is the reason we now live in a world where free speech is openly vilified and barbarism is celebrated. Marx would be impressed that there are today so many cowards willing to follow his despicable doctrine like obedient little Oompa Loompas.
The great illusion of a great leader, the deceiver who spoke so well yet was responsible for more deaths in SA than any time in history. Just do some research on who financed him and his 'rise' to so-called power. We should not take sides with anyone who promotes war or who murders innocent people. Wake up people, dont be dribbled. All the world is a stage, nobody rises to power without being put there for a purpose. He was no leader, just a pawn.
This kind of moral consistency and fortitude is lacking in today's leaders who are more concerned about being politically correct rather than moral consistency and fortitude. They tell people what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear. Mandela is a great man. That's why he is respected worldwide and his legacy is alive forever.

What does that mean to me? Weren't our Founding Fathers mostly Freemasons? That doesn't put money into my pocket, or take it out. Your claim is simply irrelevant. All I know is that Mr. Mandela was a freedom fighter in the true sense of the word. Put his life on the line, and such was his gravitas that the Afrikaans jailed him for almost three decades, but didn't dare to kill him, because they were afraid of the consequences if they did! His moral power forced that system into the dustbin of world history. Who the heck are you to question his heroism. His opinions on others like the PLO, or Libya's Col. Khadafi are his opinions. Libya hasn't been on good shape since we decided to help him into the next world. Just like we messed up Iraq, Iran, and others through our endless meddling. Comes a time when we should encourage dialogue and negotiations, rather than war, death, and overall chaos. Perhaps if you did more listening than scheming, you might understand this point, as our elder Pres. Mandela pointed out. Love that he left Ted Koppel speechless. A true legend and true boss and statesman. We need more of those these years.
