These incredible vintage photos capture a rare glimpse into the lives of veterans from the Napoleonic Wars. In 1858, a group of men, all in their 70s and 80s, gathered in Paris to commemorate the anniversary of Napoleon's death. And thanks to these photographs, we can see them wearing their original uniforms and insignia.
The men in these photos were part of the Grande Armée and the Guard, two of the most renowned military forces of the time. Despite their age, they proudly donned their uniforms, complete with epaulettes, medals, sashes, and plumes. It's remarkable to see how well-preserved these uniforms are, considering they were originally worn decades earlier.
