Unplubished and rare vocals from Walt Disney Sleeping Beauty's love medley. Bill Shirley and Mary Costa together singing this prettier version of the song that wasn't published for some reasons. This version is vocally better than the published one, and Mary Costa sustains a powerful C6 at 0:18 in the song.
Mary Costa truly have a great voice and she show us a little bit of what she have. She express naturally love with her gifted voice, and she really did a great job as princess Aurora in the movie.

I've always looked up to Aurora because she was the classiest of all princesses. Sweet and mysterious to her new admirer. I loved her voice too (Mary Costas') because it wasnt 'fake cute' (if you willl) like the others, destenuished but still very feminine. The disney version of briar Rose just oozes class and has inspired me, to say the very least. Im a sixteen year-old who wears lace and pearls... I think im on the right track. Thank you Mary Costa

@@rkwittem do I still wear lace and pearls? I definitely do, even still at 24 y/o. However, now it’s ethical diamonds, I no longer support pearls, and it’s still black lace as I have a goth streak.

I remembered this song. This was played as the Ending Credit theme song from "The making of Sleeping Beauty." Nice version. If they made a broadway version of Sleeping Beauty, this would make an excellent ending theme song.

This is at the end of the old "Making of" featurette from the earlier 2-disk DVD (before Blu-Ray!). Nice to know it was an original, rare and early recording ... not a new one for the DVD.

SamAM16 actually this recording was use for the Credits of " the MAKING of..." Put after the movie in the 1997 vhs versión

Disney shouldn't be embarrassing to any adult. I'm 37, and just watched Cinderella for the first time in 30+ years, and was emotionally struck by the Wagnerian quality of the score. They're deeply influenced by 19th century operas and ballets, and is indeed for all.

Oh my god... Mary Costa was the one who inspired me to start singing. When I was three, I saw Sleeping Beauty for the first time. I said to myself "I will sing like that some day. I HAVE to." I happened to hear this version on the VHS, and to this day it gives me chills to hear her hit that high C6. It makes me wanna keep singing forever. -3

Aminathius Same here! I was 12 when I got interested in opera, and I've had the pleasure of speaking with Mary. She sent me an autograph as a thank you for sending her a birthday present. 10 years later, I'm singing opera professionally and learning all the roles Mary performed during her career! She's a lyric coloratura and I'm a light lyric soprano, so the only difference between our voices is the agility. She wrote to me and spoke these words to me: "Follow your dreams, beautiful princess. God has given you a joyful inner spirit and He will guide you throughout your life's journey."

Jessica Zeller I was 12 when I first heard Once Upon a Dream, and it was always my favorite song to sing. I got into opera music when I was 13 after watching the new Bohemian Rhapsody movie. The scene I loved the most was when Freddie Mercury played Habanera from Carmen on his record player. That was my first favorite opera aria. Then I got into Madama Butterfly, La Traviata, Tosca, And many other great operas. I would love to see Sleeping Beauty as an opera someday. Imagine how amazing that would be!

This audio was actually in the vhs version of the movie,,, once the movie and the credits end it starts playing the behind the scenes with many of the creators of the movie including walt disney himself, once that ends the audio starts to play to conclude the whole vhs tape

No I was not aware of that information. Thank you for sharing. I remember on a special feature of the Sleeping Beauty DVD. Animator had said he "liked the ynamic of casting a Mary and Bill together because it was a fusion of light opera with pop." That's why i said my comment above. When did Mr.Shirley begin his operatic training?

Thank you so much for this! It's simply glorious. Was there an unpublished version of I Wonder as well? If so, can I purchase these songs through mp3 anywere? Heck I'll buy the whole soundtrack again on compact disc if that's the only way i can get this. Such ashame these dazzeling vocalizations are not included in the film.

I got laughed at back when I was living in Camden at the library when I was singing and some kids was laughing and mocking me and one person posted the video on Facebook and wrote 15 mean comments instead of nice comments about me and I was embarrassed and upset about it no one likes my talent I like to sing a lot while listening to music and singing along and dancing too any positive advice for me about my situation please I need a new friend someone who’ll accept me for who I am and not judge me just because I’m different from other people please am I considered a princess like princess Aurora my hair is naturally curly
