You gotta love Whitney's realness I never heard of a celebrity ever speak like Whitney about idolizing others she did not believe in that and not putting people on a high pedestal like she said because you may be disappointed when you find out your favorite celebrity not what you thought they are that's what I really love about Whitney her honesty and she always was straightforward she did not hold nothing back she had the whole entire package I mean beauty classification and a heart of gold, one of the most angelic sweetest voices of all time its like God Himself touch Whitney with her voice and he blessed her well every single interview of whitney I love it because you really get to know her and not judging her by the media but getting to know the real person that she truly was and she was different from the others she was one in a billion and no one can ever and I mean ever take her place she truly missed and love forever!!!!!!

What she's saying here is common sense . I'm a pro musician myself and never gave a shit to talk to any notorious ppl like Pat Metheny, George Benson, Herbie Hancock etc. Simply because they're MUSICIANS just like you. Fans are afraid they don't have much to tell them and i feel them in a way (apart from the idolizing thing). What would have been interesting to me is having a conversation with her without all the gang around, which obviously couldn't happen. She was a gorgeous next door girl she tried to maintain through her life . If you read between lines she hated all of that fame circus and the reason why she kept saying she's a "normal" person in every single interview, so her statements make sense.

No. She didn't know. "Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all". She never learned to love herself. Whitney had low self esteem. She never realized how wonderful she was. Sad, but true.
@destinee971ify
@destinee971ify 2 года назад
@@churchnelly548 She knew her talent was god given and she knew the affect's she had on the people who supported her but like she said everything comes at a cost. The self destructive behavior was her way of wanting all the fame and fortune to be over subconsciously. She was very aware what she was doing to her voice but somewhere along the way she wanted to escape and alleviate her internal struggles more than she wanted to sing so the drug addiction continued to get worse. Escaping her reality was her number one priority, not her voice or career.

+Terrence Malbrough I disagree with you. Whitney had a lips in her later years because of a lot of dental work. Many of her teeth were replaced. Whitney also had several cosmetic surgury and her voices changed a lot over the years because of ageing and lifestyle choices (smoking). Whitney was the same all to end in 2012. She was a hard working, kind and loving person who did so much good for other people and sang with the greatest female voice in our lifetime. RIP Whitney.

Michele Simms-Burton well she started doing drugs with her brothers in the mid-80s right around the time it met clive. i'm whitneys biggest fan and i feel like he definitely pushed her but he did not start her downward spiral. everything just went downhill publicity and critically when she got with bobby. bobby didn't use any hard drugs except for alcohol and weed until he met whitney. while they both were deeply in love, they were toxic. i love whitney more than anything but those were her choices but her death was just not right. people said she looked better than ever before her death- and on the autopsy (opposite of beliefs) she was alive before she drowned so that means she didn't have a heart attack from her undiagnosed heart disease like her mother and many others believed. i believe her death was staged because she didn't drink often and she didn't like it but there were wine bottles all over making it look like she drank lots. and there was white powder everywhere? that's just not something whitney would do and combine all those drugs meanwhile she sang gospel a couple nights earlier. something with the people around her (including evil pat houston who changed the story many times) knew what happened and killed her.

Kenz I agree , and I won’t stop sharing my opinion on how I think the death of Whitney was weird as hell .. Her speaking voice was just as sweet as her singing voice, though you got no sense of the depth and power she could command when she wanted to. I was always impressed by her proper use of grammer when she interviewed. Now I'm sure she wasn't so militant about it while at home with friends or family, but it goes to show that she was very cognizant of presenting as the educated young woman that she was with just enough intellect & thoughtfulness in her answers. The press probably really enjoyed interviewing her- the ones that knew how to really do their jobs & not fumble around in nerves from being unprepared or star struck. Fantastic interview in my opinion.

Your girl seemed so relaxed in this video. Whitney, aside from being the greatest female voice and most awarded performer with those still unbeatable 7 consecutive #1 hits, was really just the girl next door. She had her strengths and she had her faith along with her weaknesses and demons, like all of us. I wish she had somebody who loves her through everything. No, I am not knocking Bobby and have nothing against him, but I wish she found a man who perhaps wasn't in the industry who would look past her image and see her as sweet and vulnerable Nippy. I wish her story played out differently than what it did but it was all in God's plan. The greatest, most brilliant and beautiful singer to grace our eyes and ears. Today we don't even have 1/2 of her in singers today. THAT WAS RAW NATURAL TALENT AND GOD gave her to us. She said "singing is like speaking". Whitney became so big so fast the BODYGUARD blew her up. NOBODY is prepared for that kind of talent. She was very young told what to do what to sing. ON ANYBODY that can take a toll. She was an addict and anybody who just dabbled in drugs when they were young try getting a endless amount of money, people always in your business. It came to the point that she was famous for the tabloids ..IT WASN'T ABOUT THE MUSIC ANYMORE. People calling her family offering money to talk about her. Her father going on camera and saying shit (that broke her heart). The business can be cruel.DO YOU ALL REALIZE THAT WHEN SHE DID HER FIRST AWARDS SHOW HER AND HER MOTHER WERE BACKSTAGE AND ALOT OF KNOWN CELEBRITIES didn't want to speak to her because that's how showbiz people are .Clickish but she showed them didn't she!!!!!!! Whitney always reminded me of a deer in the headlights in interviews. She seemed jittery at times. And in some footage on red carpets always seemed to be looking over her shoulder, or a bit scared. While others like Madonna, just pitch up and demand the room. (but sadly with only 1% of Whitney's talent). Whitney was more down to earth and shy, and she didn't need to announce herself like other stars did. Her voice spoke for itself.

Fame and fortune always comes at a price, nothing you want in this life is free. The shady side of the industry, the media, the criticism is the price she had to pay for becoming a global superstar and Whitney was right, she had a lot more to pay. This was only the beginning.

It wasn't about being married to Bobby Brown , I realize after watching many interviews with Whitney she felt the lost of her father and didn't care any more not realizing how fast her life became out of control and got away from her . This is what happens when record labels changes you into something they're not. They'll give you an image that they feel is suitable to the masses and one with mass appeal who can easily cross over globally. You become a product that's marketed and sold Not allowing the artists to be themselves. How much longer can they go around being a fake and phoney person who were created. Whitney was a tortured soul being pulled in every direction at the same time. I think she was tired of being this puppet on a string in which Clive Davis was controlling. From her hair to her wardrobe was
@roguenation
@roguenation 7 лет назад
Clive Davis certainly knew all about selling records to the broad masses. If you're part of a record company, I think it's valid to say that you're a manufactured product. You're a product and you're in the business of selling a product.
@saffirechanning7286
@saffirechanning7286 6 лет назад
I still think that Whitney & Michael Jackson should've MARRIED EACH OTHER and started their own music label TOGETHER! Then they could've started selling records for THEMSELVES! They could've also BRANCHED OUT into other areas of entertainment. Whitney was getting into producing movies during her career but she let her marriage to Brown hinder that. Now if she had DUMPED Brown back then and HOOKED UP with Mike, they could've put their resources TOGETHER and TOTALLY DOMINATED as a celebrity TEAM! Yeah, those two ICONS would've been the 'Beyoncé & Jay-Z' of their pop music generation!! Who else agrees with me?!

Hey, you obviously don't know what you're talking about, Denzel has been HAPPILY MARRIED to his wife, Pauletta for MANY YEARS now. It's like I've been saying for DECADES, Whitney was DESTINED to be Michael Jackson, the KING of POP's CONSORT, which I believe she is NOW in RETIREMENT!! Together, those two LEGENDARY songbirds are raising a SHOWBIZ DYNASTY of their own!!

Lol. You guys are ridiculous. Whitney was a phenomenal voice, no question, but you idiots are out of your mind if you can’t realize that Clive Davis got her absolutely the best material and songwriters available for her at the time because he believed in her talent.
@cordbarnes
@cordbarnes 5 лет назад
Actually Clive did not think she should do the last tour, encouraged her to go to rehab and refused to oversee another record of hers until she took care of her health and stopped smoking. The damage to her voice likely came from many places but two of the main ones were from smoking cigarettes and rock cocaine (I.e. crack) which can destroy the nasal passages, breath support, and erode the vocal cords irreversibly changing the tone of a singing voice. That wasn’t Clive. There was an 8 year period where she did nothing but make movies and record soundtracks which was against Clive’s advice. I love Whitney but from my experience the artists are rather self destructive while those leading their careers try like hell to contain and protect them. If you want to blame anyone for her demise it’s possible to find examples of family members fueling her drug habits and enabling her at certain points. Her whole family was on payroll. If she wasn’t working Clive would’ve still been rich. A few million isn’t that much for someone like Clive honestly I wouldn’t think. If she would’ve stopped working though, her whole family would’ve been out of a job. People are so quick to blame record execs. As for her being some kind of property of Davis’, she and her family requested a key man clause in her contract when she signed to Arista. In essence this meant that Whitney would only work with Clive and that’s it no one else at the label. Clive didn’t want this but the Houston’s made it a stipulation in order to sign. They wanted Clive and Whitney chose to do drugs. Not on Clive.

@@mariahyohannes I believe you are woefully misinformed… I’d be willing to explain the relationship of A&R, labels and the touring apparatus if you’d like. Regardless, don’t take my word for it… Maybe Cissy and Clive are lying too… maybe even Whitney was lying!!! 🤔 Would you like receipts? Direct quotes from all three below. I think they can clear up more than my explanations or resume might 💁🏾‍♂️ Regarding the Houston’s choosing Clive to helm Whitney’s career: “[Whitney’s father] wanted Nippy to sign with Electra because of the money. But I disagreed. ‘It’s not about the money,’ I told John. ‘It’s about the future’… we signed with Clive because I trusted him to know what he was doing…” -Cissy Houston “Even if you know you’re right, you’re better off [listening to the artist.] So if Whitney didn’t want to do something, we didn’t do it.” -Clive Davis “So my mother was saying to me ‘You’re 18 years old. You need guidance.’ Clive was the person who guided me…” “I wouldn’t be with anyone who didn’t respect my opinion. Nobody makes me do anything I don’t want to do. You can’t make me sing something I don’t want to sing. That’s not what makes me and Clive click, because if it was, I’d have left Arista a long time ago.” -Whitney Houston “Whitney would sign with Arista only on the condition that she get a ‘key man’ clause stipulating that she was to work only with me. If I left the company for any reason, she would be free to go as well. I was flattered of course…However, those kinds of arrangements always create problems at a record company... In Whitney’s case, however, I knew that my having worked successfully with artists whom she regarded as family [Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick] was the most compelling reason in favor of her signing with the label… I had been asked several times but I had never granted a key-man clause before. I wanted this artist so badly that I supported breaking precedent and RCA approved the deal…After I left Arista in 2000,… L.A. Reid, who now ran the label believed it was essential to keep Whitney after I left, so she signed a $100 million deal with the label for six more albums.” -Clive Davis She and Clive did not reunite professionally for a project for nearly ten years after she signed with LA Reid. Then they reunited only for the recording of her final album. However, Clive had nothing to do with the the final tour. Regarding her last tour: “I [believed] that she had put drugs behind her but I knew that cigarette smoking was something she couldn’t quit. Knowing how fragile Whitney’s voice was, I wasn’t happy when I heard about her plans for a world tour. She never discussed it with me, because I’m sure she knew what I would say. I’d imagine that money played a big role in her decision, but however much she made, the tour clearly was a mistake…I don’t know if Whitney thought that she could wing it and get by on showmanship…Whitney and I stayed in touch after the tour ended in the middle of 2010 and spoke repeatedly about the prospects for recording again. This time I told her very directly I would not go into the studio with her until she had regained her voice.” - Clive Davis “It was like the PROMOTERS were making up for lost time or something, sending her all over the globe like that…unfortunately some of the other criticism Nippy was getting was justified. Her voice just couldn’t stand up to the rigors of so many performances but because tickets had been sold and promises had been made, Nippy tried to get out there and sing anyway…Just as it wasn’t Bobby Brown’s fault that Nippy did drugs, it wasn’t the fault of the music business that Nippy ended up struggling the way she did during and after that last tour… Nippy was a grown woman, and had always been taught to think for herself. Nippy made her decision.” -Cissy Houston Would you also like a manuscript of the letter that Clive sent attempting to get both Whitney and Bobby off of drugs? I have that as well 😬
