I'd love to see another video, and one on whisky. It seems like there's a lot to learn even if you never sell a bottle since you can build a collection to drink from that ages well by making good purchases.

I have always understood this as a bad market to be in seriously. Only really makes sense if you buy wine in cases and your main goal is to drink it. Occasionally when you get lucky the stuff you didn’t like becomes popular. Felix Salmon has trained me on this however, recommend his gold art cars and wine speculation mini podcast on slate money.

Austrian wine is pretty infamous in Germany and Switzerland since the wine scandal from 1985, especially older people would never consider such wine

Yes, the Austrian wine poisoning is a very interesting topic. I love Downtherabbithole's RU-vid documentary on it. The phenomenon is a reminder of how some people and corporations are willing to sacrifice any ethics and decency to make a fractionally higher profit. Also reminds me of how in China the faking of hard liquor and beer happens/happened all over. Not sure if it is as widespread as it was before, but it was really bad. Not surprising I guess since some people in China produce fentanyl and 100x stronger than fentanyl analogues and sell it without a second thought.

We have some Internationally Renowned Wine Producers here in South Africa. The French Huguenots brought Grape seeds from France and farmed them back here in the far off Olde Days (Centuries ago) a few of those original Farms still exist and produce tremendous Wines. Boschendal, Vergelegen and Lourensford are some of the better Vineyards that often have small barrel runs of Wines that achieve good returns after several years. If you impress a woman with $10 to $20 Bordeaux that tastes awesome like a $100 to $200 plus Bordeaux , then she knows you know how to be smart about wines, and that you are a wine expert and a financial genius. That's enough for her.

Great video again sir I agree 100% investing in wine is a learning curve. Only advise i would say to anyone looking to pull the trigger in this market is do your homework enjoy the wine learn about different vintages in different regions. As the climate changes each year so will the quantity of the grape its not as simple as picking a well known château in bordeaux buying an expensive bottle without having that knowledge or interest you're the blind squirrel

Definitely not. You still have regulations, taxes, and other issues.

Hello there, i live in the UK and i holiday in the Champagne region of France every year. I have started a collection of 2012 Millesemes Champagne whish i buy from independant vingerons for £20 (or less). They say that 2012 was the best year since 1947 in the champagne region. I have about 15 bottles of 2012s. I also have a small collection of other years but 2012 will be the best one moving forward, a long term investment???

I forgot to say that there is no import taxes or duty on the champagne, i can take it straight home from the cellar door (as much as i want).

Please check your habit of repeating statements, it adds nothing to the video in my opinion. If someone needs enunciated repeating to understand a concept, they are too stupid to understand your content in the first place and aren't even watching these videos. Just my 2c. Thanks for the content
