Ironic that Fulgrim, as a consequence of his hubris and hatred of the Laer, would end up in a form that greatly resembled the species he had deemed unworthy. I feel like Slaanesh was sending a message there.
I'm still rather skeptical on if that's really Fulgrim. Sure, he claimed that he'd retaken his body from the Greater Daemon that had taken it and locked his soul up in a painting, but I'm not sure I buy that, especially since the Emperor's Children he told that to had tried to exorcise the Daemon possessing his body through pain. Let me repeat that. They tried to exorcise a Daemon of Slaanesh by inflicting pain on its host. Does anyone see the flaw here?
I like how GW does not toss something away entirely. The demiurg were an attempt at space dwarfs in Battlefleet Gothic as a tau mercenary auxiliary. That did not work out entirely, but then they fold them into their next attempt in Votann. They had their giant mining ships you could include as auxiliaries.
@@kharnthebetrayer1575 The demiurg were not outright stated to be squats. GW pondered if they could fill the same role. They were then described as one of many auxiliary/mercenary xenos the tau had contact with. You could put a kroot war-sphere in your fleet as well.

Might as well upload two versions: one with narration music and ine without it
Was retractable the correct word for the jokaero fingers in toes? The idea of retractable fingers and toes has me both wincing and giggling at the same time...
you sound like a bunch of snowflakes. WAh Wah WAh! im a little baby and different scares me! this is a video about rare xenos so im gonna complain that people who arent just like me might also play. wah wah wah. maybe if your dads had told you they love you or if you read any books you wouldn't be so sad
There was an audio quality change when it switched to the Ambulls though. It seems slightly distorted from the previous entry, otherwise it's pretty good.
Yes, no background music please. It interferes with excellent narration. Also a significant % of ppl who listen to longform lore videos do it while going to sleep. Its a big part of the longform market. It doesnt require soft narration, clear voice like this is great. It just requires no background music (or if you must, something slow) and no sudden changes in volume etc if you insert sponsorship stuff, no weird dramatization noises etc.
I've experimented with no music on the videos that followed this one and will probably keep it that way. Im hoping to do much longer videos, so at most, it'll be very low and slow going forward. Great feedback, though, and much appreciated, always looking to improve.
The demiurg were a sort of attempt at space dwarfs in Battlefleet Gothic. They had these giant forge- and mining-ships described as sometimes-mercenaries of the tau.
It’s getting harder and harder to tell AI speech from natural speech. Some parts of the cadence seem a little off. If you are using it, it would be honorable to say so in the description. If not, nice pipes!
I've been playing 40k on and off for decades now, I started all the way back in second edition; I have led strike groups of not less than 4 different Space Marine chapters, infantry formations of the Astra Militarum, blood frenzied Khorne Brezerker bands and 10,000 year old traitor Marines, and have even commanded Necron and Tyranid forces, but i have never even heard of some of these races!
Is it me or do the Jokero seem like they have a similar ability to orks, in that they can create technology from seemingly anything and have it actually be functional? They are what the orks would be if they were actually smart.
Both were engineered by the old ones. Jokaero can make higher tech but are not sentient, while orks are more suited for war but are limited in the complexity of their creations.
I would like to point out that the Lear servived that purging the Emperors Children inflicted on them, they are now known as the Sslyth, and they work for the Dark Eldar.
This is an interesting theory but I dont think it's been confirmed in the lore. Physically, they sound incredibly similar, but the Dark Elves fear Slaanesh above everything, and they'd be taking an incredible risk taking slaaneshi laer to commorragh.
If GW ever made a dedicated Night Lords codex (unlikely but you never know) feel like the Khrave both aesthetically and thematically would make a fun addition. I can see some great books about the Night Lords forming a truly fucked up mutually beneficial alliance with a species that quite literally feeds on fear and suffering.
The more I hear about Jakieo the cooler they seem; at first I was like meh space orangutans...but they can build a ring that hits as hard as a melta gun? Fuckin sick
It would have been cool to see some Zoats make it into one of these podcasts given they had a whole model range at one point, and still pop up here and there in Blackstone and Bloodbowl
Came here to say the exact same thing. Although was going to put "music". Inverted commas definitely required. It's just an irritating repetitive noise in the background. Weird production choice. Bad production choice. 👎
Quite a nice little channel you have here my newest Battle Brother... So far so good... Just a small bit of advice however... LOSE THAT BACKGROUND MUSIC!!! ( OR just make it BARELY INAUDIBLE!). Your subject matter and the Voice level of the AI is just fine... You do not need that music. Also... The Overall Volume seems to wax and wane in some parts, but I'm sure it will get better once you have found your sea legs! Keep fighting THE WITCH THE MUTANT AND THE HERETIC, MAKE THE TRAITORS AGAINST THE IMPERIUM PAY WITH THEIR LIVES AND CRUSH THE XENOS FILTH! " VICTORUS AUT MORTIS"
GW had them in Battlefield Gothic before they decided to attempt the Votann. I think they folded what they had together. Nothing was really being done with the demiurg. They were one of a few auxiliaries in BG.
Yeah i was pretty sure this is the actual lore: Demiurg are mistaken by the imperium to be a separate race. But they are mining parties of the leagues of votann.
Quite an interesting topic... would you be willing to do a video on lesser known deamons or marquees or whatever the hell they are called. Also the Sporocine from the tyrannids is quite vile as well.
Dang, Emperor's Children should has just glassed the planet if the were gonna get corrupted. But why did they get corrupted while other legions fight choas demons directly and stay true?
@@shakon1618 Unlikely, Slaanesh isnt known for playing the long game. Fulgrim raided a Laer temple and took a liking to it. When he raised the issue with Horus, Horus had already been corrupted and told him to go with it
Love the voice! Imagine Necrons allowing their false-gods to goad another race into following suit, funneling a potentially hostile races into living-metal-bodies as unflattering & timeless as their own; categorically falling into the sweep of Necron units, becoming a heterogeneity amidst classes of Necrons; anything with a soul could be swept up in the C'Tan's urges.
Honestly, most of these xenos are just silly. Space Orangutans and Dwarves. Snake Aliens???? The Nerds at Games Workshop could have used some more imagination.
nearly all the main races are based on classic fantasy races so not much "imagination" there either. the obscure xenos races are actually the most creative - ambulls, hrud & stryxis don't look like anything else i can think of, and there are even more strange and original ones this guy hasn't covered yet. you've just cherry-picked 3 of the least imaginitive examples then formed an opinion on all of them based on that, which is, you know, dumb
As long as the youtube lore masters stay loyalists i will be part of 40k, but until GW reveals the femstodes to be a tzeentch trick and then come out with a sisters of battle/silence book, GW will get zero of my dablooms.
@SusCalvin I mean, seems like a mistake made by GW, they are exactly the same as the "Leagues of Votann" (IMO, a stupid name). They look more like what we actually wanted for squats, so why the similarity and disparity
