If they kill it It's essentially 4 mana gain 8 Armor and 6 corpses. Except better then that. Because excess damage doesn't hit you. And if they don't kill it. You get extra max health and the process repeats.

Maybe, but the opponent loses nothing when trading into it and 4 mana gain 5 corpses isn't that stellar when Crop Rotation is 3 mana gain 4 and deal your damage how you want instead of how the enemy does. I hope I'm wrong, but I've played nothing but greedy blood DK for the last few expansions since I'm too lazy to deck build, and I feel like most games where HP mattered, it was because the game was going so fast that skipping turn 4 for this would be a no-go / worse than some 1/1 rushers.

@@Nagassh giving maw and paw handbuff, reborn, and/or sinister soulcage could make it rediculous and snowball out of control if not dealt with fast. Soulcage/deathgrowl/unholyfrenzy/reborn can all amplify a cost reduced reska to steal an overwhelming board with azerite rat to get a second opportunity to do any or all of that twice. i see some fun interactions potentially happening there

Basically the card gives you 5 corpses. Even if they kill it, you still gained 5 corpses which is pretty nuts. The 5 health is just a bonus

You have to build a very specific deck around it and to get equal value to just building a blood deck and using double vampiric blood

The frost rune spell that destroys your undead and resummons them might finally see serious play due to her, especially with the 2 mana 2/1 that resummons itself whenever you excavate

@@vukkicos5688 you can spread the resummons itself when you excavate deathrattle too which might be broken on primus, gnome muncher, Sindragosa, the new legendary and other cards I forgot.

I mean maybe, but Denathrius was an actual wincon that generally ended the game on the spot, not just a randomized mind-control (which _can_ be game-winning, but is a whole lot less certain). Also, iirc - I may certainly be wrong - Denathrius mainly shone in Druid, which: A) Could ramp up to him really quickly; B) Could power him up super easily with Scales of Onyxia (which was in and of itself busted). And the comparison with Yogg is off, in my opinion: Yogg is more versatile as it can serve as both board clear and value generation, and not just an MC effect, said MC effect is targeted and thus way better, and his condition is, I think, generally easier to fulfill (although to be completely fair, experimentation is needed to know whether that last claim is actually true or not). Not to mention that, like Denathrius, he's Neutral, so usable by more decks. I don't think the new Legendary is necessarily bad, but I don't know that those comparisons are accurate.

With it requiring minions to die, it looks a lot more like new sylvanas to me. And just like with sylvanas its only going to be very good in highlander decks and against minion based decks (which not every deck is anymore). Its also important to note that its 1 frost and 1 unholy, which that alone instantly makes it nigh unplayable.

​@@kane6571Rainbow DK was underpowered since Day 1. Blood and Frost were borderline broken and Unholy was mainly strong cause of Marrowgar and Grave Strength

The amount of cards we've gotten that can be used in pure frost has been fairly negligible. I would have thought this expansion would have focused on frost as the last two were blood and unholy focused respectively. This just feels shit. Frostwyrms fury and marrow manipulator are gonna be rotating soon so pure frost literally won't exist if they don't rotate those into dk's baseline cards.

is it that marrowgar is too strong, or is it that muti-runing is just not good enough? I think its the latter.

You could argue the same for the other Runes too. Multi-runing just isn't strong enough to make up for loosing the triple rune cards. The only ones that I could see being considered "good" are: 2 Blood + 1 Unholy (Control Deck) 2 Unholy + 1 Frost (Plague Deck)

@@filipvadas7602 kinda yes, but I think the payoff for triple frost is ok in power level, even though frostwyrm's fury being a very frustating card, and the same for blood. You only don't see much of them mixed because the archtype doesn't really exist/isn't exactly fully fleshed out(this expansion seems that they'll be doing that), because the idea when combining runes would be to go for a different gameplan, wich in case of frost is burn/combo, and blood is control, and there's no midrange in between. But unholy you can see a middle path, even you gave a example that mixes it with both runes, showing it has a pontential for multi-runing with unholy, but because unholy is more of swarm gameplan, it endup being way better to go for triple unholy because Marrowgar is such a strong payoff...

Azerite Rat can only be gotten by excavation so not sure it really counts. And you can only run both of the other two in rainbow DK
