If I had a nickel for every water themed card in a card game that set the costs of specific cards in both players hands to a symmetrical amount therefore providing both mana cheat and disruption I would have two nickels which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice.
I can only assume it's meant to be some kind of token/taunt support. Trouble is you need to be well above 5 mana to fill the board enough for it to be meaningful.
Meh. It is not even this good... It won't win the game, better play 1000 damaging spells that target only enemy, and then smh grt a Malygos from the hand or any other big spell damage, and just otk the enemy...
Not that random of an exception, the battlecry reads "cast an elemental evocation" not "deal x damage", so technically the battlecry itself isn't dealing damage
@@dariusfafoutakis8021This isn't the case, Shudderblock's text reads "Your next battlecry triggers 3 times, but can't *damage* the enemy hero." So even non-targeted damage won't work. It works with Kalimos because that card casts a spell that then does the damage to the enemy hero, but this new Shaman legendary won't work
The fact that the dragon upgrades on EACH turn, it means it’s a 2 mana Spot the Difference on 4 and a 2 mana Razzle Dazzler, the 7 mana Naga, on 5. Looks kinda strong to me.
eliza is such a good unholy card that isent unholy. double or even tripple unholy would have fit so much more and its sad how hard rainbow is being pushed
ye i believe they changed this during playtesting, making her close to unplayable just due to her runes. only unholy wants this kind of effect, and her having both other runes is just a slap in the face
Bro... you are insane to even joke about that. 2014 had legendaries so laughably bad that AFK looks good by comparison. Bro's comparing tech drawing 1 of each spell school in your deck for 5 mana WITH a 5/5 body to good ol' Nat Pagle. AND the card lets you "cheat" the game's deck restrictions and lets you use Shaman cards from this set. If the Shaman cards are garbage, that's not Buttons' fault lol. Or the 4 mana 4/3 deathrattle, which would have been bonkers strong last year, and frankly still seems decent. All those tokens DK summons, including their Hero Power, gets significantly stronger with each tick of that card's effect. You used to pay 3 mana for Priest's "deal 2 damage" HP, and 6 mana for Justicar Trueheart's "Upgrade your HP" effect. This does that better than both of those cards, AND buffs every single minion DK puts on the board. They aren't the flashiest cards ever, and frankly, I'm a bit disappointed too. But not because the cards are bad. These cards are "good" in a meta where, if you aren't pushing to win the game by turn 7 or 8, you've probably already lost, or hell, would have already won if playing a hardcore control deck instead of running these legendaries. But as Rarran said... I feel that Eliza easily slips into Rainbow DK. Will it be Tier 1? Ha, no. But ungodly awful like some of the 2014 legendaries? Nah, chief.
druids tourist is the best one by a significant margin: you ramp into him -> play 6 mana ramp and armor spells -> in 3 turns you gain 30 and have 3 3/7 on board. and if you draw him later into the game, then you probably already stabilized and winning. the card is just nuts also aranna is pure garbage. it's only playable in fatigue deck and it's best shot is outcast fatigue dh, but you don't have any tools to stabilize or win over tempo with (no 0 mana 5/5s). and griftah is most likely to be the best neutral legendary of the set: 4 mana thaurissan is nuts for any combo deck (naga dh in particular looks to be insane in this set), and even if you wiff on mana cheat you can just chose damage or draw instead
Considering the card effects and performance, it doesn't make sense that Ranger Gilly costs 6 and Mistah Vistah costs 5. At least the two should swap costs so that Gilly costs 5 and Vistah costs 6.
Incindius control priest. Using a control priest shell, you try to get and play as many copies of Incindius as possible. Assuming each one gets killed on the spot and doesn't trigger a second time, and that the end of turn effect only works on eruptions currently in your deck, you get: 10 damage with the first one. 15 more on the second one (assuming you don't draw any eruption). 20 more on the third one (assuming you don't draw any eruption). That's 45 damage sitting in your deck, waiting to happen. And the more Incindius you manage to play, the more stupid this gets. Even if you whiff by drawing it early and thus losing on Creation Protocol, you could Shattered Reflections one back into your deck with some mana cheating. Also that means that the turn you use Shattered Reflections you get two end of turn effects. Also I can't wait to see Mark make OTK decks in wild. (Or even in standard, on an empty deck, with Shudderblock, it's 30 damage at the start of your next turn.
Aranna is NOT demon seed. If oponent has a board, it will soak the damage and if you don't lethal on the turn, you lost because you have no card left. I don't why you're concerned so much about DH who has been at the bottom of the tier list most of the time since festival of legends. The build with patches and pirates looks way more promising and stable.
i dont plan on playing this expansion beyond building a fun meme shaman deck with incindius, patches the pilot, shudderblock, wish upon a star, hagatha, and the evolve spell. the early game will consist of totem spam, hero power centric, to find the spell dmg totem for the incindius eruptions to get multipliers. I will be constantly clearing my own board with control spells like volcanic eruption, or seismic quake, the fire and nature symetrical boardwipes that shaman has, so I shouldnt be accidentally stuffing my own board too much when I use my gaslight gatekeepers to draw ten cards in one turn and activate a ton of "cast on draw" cards.
Im actually getting excited for this expansion, maybe its because its something new, but i think a lot of these legendaries can push new decks into a really stale meta.
what would happen if you pick multiple tourist cards? like for example the first minutes, you as a death knight can pick buttons and then could pick carefree cookie? im asking if that is posible
Hey I'm very new to Heartstone... I tried wild but it was way more competitive... BUT I like the old cards I see in videos like the quests and stuff... any tips for beginners? I can't seem to get XP either for mercenaries game mode.. I win battle but nothing else happens??
Imagine going through a whole 10 year anniversary and not even breaking out a new class or anything. That’s ok, we have Great Value Gadgetzan (with Pirates!) for another 3 months
aFk effectively reads “when you play a minion, give it +2/+2”, because a minion usually doesn’t attack the turn it’s played. Still pretty bad for 5 mana
Rarren seems pretty big on Lynessa but I just don't see her working out. Is Lynessa as the sole payoff for a cheap spell paladin deck really enough to kick handbuff out of the number one spot and stomp down the rest of the competition?
Lynessa has alot of things going for it. The sun screens becomes +2/+4 for 1, glowsticks would be doubled, some other paladin spells are happy to have it. If you use the rouge cards Eudora - has treasures that work with it. snatch and grab - you can discount it to kill 4 minions. Conniving conman - can repeat the rouge cards again. Metal detector - the coins double proc Sea shill can reduce the costs of your paladin cards Oh manager - gets you 4 damage and 4 mana. Petty theft - you get 4 spells that then can copy also.
Im pretty confident incindius will be trash it relys on way to many things, first its 6 mana do nothing, it relys on actually drawing the eruptions(i don't think running the 4 mana tutor is worth it), it relys on the enemy deck being board centric which in recent years is uncommon and if it is the case you actually fill your deck with 5 not great cards. the eruptions do hit face but I'm assuming most decks running 2/10 are going to be slow decks and so the face damage wont matter to much. if you get incindius vs a board based deck and you draw the eruptions and 2 dmg is enough to clear their board/he lives for a turn it would be good but it doesn't seem to common of a situation to warrant running the card.
Wait so, I know this is probably not a thing, but if I put say, the demon hunter cards in shaman cause of the tourist, then put Aranna in your shaman deck…you can’t then put priest cards in your shaman deck because of aranna, right?
I think there isn’t as much hype because most players know that after the expansion settles it’ll still just be seeing Reno and Yogg every game, just with a few different cards added in
@@barcster2003 druid gonna ramp into him, gain 30 armor, play 6 mana ramp, and in three turns you gonna face another gain 30 and a board of 3/7 taunts. imo probably the best class legendary of this set
2:35 you're already wrong she's 5 whole mana, it's not near combo enough and you can't play it tempo cause it will be snapp-killed, I think she is bottom of B tier
incindius seems so incredibly slow, 6 mana chunky boy for potentially dealing 10 dmg to all enemies throughout the game? i mean that’s value but idk how impactful it’s gonna be
incindius feels so well balanced, everybody can imagine how he can be broken, but you kinda need way to shuffle more than 5 times and ways to copy him or have him stick around fro more than 1 turn, because to be really broken you need like 15 times 2 or 10 times 3 damage in the deck^^
He put her in F-TIER?! Rarren this better be for engagement! The fact that there are so many infinite taunt decks with Druid AND Warrior, the fact that you can sandwich AFK into a 2 mana card that fills your board the fact that AFK is actually a 2/7 cuz she buffs herself. I cannot see a world where she is F Tier. But hey I guess I may have my own opinion and so do you. Love the vids
Damage you take from hitting minions is redirected at enemies. So you can literally swing on the biggest thing possible and hope it does alot of havoc to their board/face. Demon Hunter can do this at any time because it's hero power allows it to attack. It's like having the non destroy part of deathroll plus saving you from face damage.
Also a reminder that just like The Demon Seed, all fatigue dmg you take while having aranna on the board will be redirected at enemies. So DH can just play a hyper draw deck and then kill their opponent with the fatigue damage taken.
@@brandondeking how would you defend yourself with that deck? dh doesn't have tempo swings or efficient removals at all. people coping so hard about aranna, but what's gonna happen is half the time you will die before you can draw through your deck, and the other half you gonna face 80 armor druids with full board of minions (which will tank damage from aranna) thanks to vistah
I don't think Aranna is actually all that good. it's a 5-mana combo card thats a bit too difficult to work with, maybe with fatigue, but I think that takes too long to be the main win condition. It would be cool if Warglaives were back in standard (other than Ci'Cigi) or some other way to smack your face multiple times in a turn, but even then, its dependent on your opponent's board and I feel like control warrior is probably going to be one of the top decks and they like to just sit back and clear the board the whole time. Using rock duel and letting it hit yourself would be kinda fun, IDK about good though. Could be wrong I just don't think there's enough support for it yet.
Incidius is going to be crazy in Reno paladin, playing multiple of them with the mirage will definitely be a good win condition Ps: king tide on turn 9 potentially allows you to cheat 15 mana
Nah warrior will use it best. You have managerie tutor draw and you can deck yourself easily. Voone copies incindius and a zola sudenly you can play 4 of them in a row doing 10 aoe each time
I think depending on if the DK legendary is an aura or a buff will determine how good it is. If it is an aura its gonna be broken. Suddenly all of the small minions DK can make become fucking menaces.
@@oscarmeldgaard5407 How is this any better than just handbuff DK which generates way more stats much faster. Yeah sure your hero power gets better, and some token summoning, but tokens rarely go face, and hero powering is rarely the best thing to do
@@vgcatharsis9480 because handcuffs have to be in your hand. It is also great with a lot of the stronger do cards like mining accident, any of the unholy plagues, and pretty much anything that summons anything. It buffs zilliax, primus, toysnatching giant, chained guardian, pile of bones, any life steal and reborn cards too
AFK is busted and I don't understand how people don't see that. If she ever gets copied, the game is over on the spot. If you play a bunch of tokens i.e. dragon priest or any paladin deck or treant druid or any shaman deck, AFK pumps those decks up so fast it's not even funny. Even outside of those decks, she's a 5 mama "give every minion you play +2/+2" unless it has rush or charge. Seeing as the new druid ramp spells that cap out your mana to like what, 16? You can do some nutty shit with this. Oh, and it can be played in warrior. So yeah, were going to live in a world where Singleton warrior is going to be able to play their dig reward, AFK, and still have like 3 mana left over to bounce the dig reward or play shield block or Reno hero power or something. This card is from my nightmares. It will break the game and get nerfed to 4 mana +1/+1.
You summed up the lack of interest in this set with Paladin. Why play this, when something seemingly better exists? Paladin still has handbuff/swarm decks, DK will likely stick with Plagues, etc. There are a few exceptions, but I feel like the majority of classes will slot in a card or two from the set.
I wonder how broken afkay is going to be idk why everyone's rating it so low I feel like if it's handbuffed it gets significantly better or played in a board flood deck.
You should've started A. F. Kay off in the A tier. Then later on in the video change your mind and put her in the F tier then even later on in the video change your mind again and create the K tier and put her in there.
@@brandenharder6378 Ourobos is only technically a token. You're never playing Vona for Vona, she's incredibly understatted, a lone 4/4 is not threatening at all. Dealing with Ourobos with a silence or bounce is not hard at all, and can be pretty cheap to do, especially compared with a conditional 6 mana battlecry. Not to mention that he's only really relevant in slower matchups a lot of the time, and slower matchups means Yogg and Reno are a universal presence.
@MinoriGaming You're misunderstanding my point about value trading. If you both spend the same number of cards and mana in the interaction, but afterwards you still have the 4/4 that's going up. Maybe you'd be screwed if your whole deck was built around ourobouros, but like objectively speaking its a lot of stats for the cost and its two bodies for removal. I play something, then you kill it, but it made another thing you also have to kill.
''im kinda over the evolve mechanic'' - i dont play the game anymore since i uninstalled all blizzard games after the blitzchung ban, but evolve shaman is the only thing i miss, probably my favorite arctype out of every cardgame
Ngl I stopped playing Hearthstone a long time ago because it was too expensive to play. I returned a couple years ago and I stopped again half a year ago because... It's too expensive to play
