Caitlin Clark, I believe, has never played the game to break records. It's just been an incredible and skillful coincedence!! I think she has a genuine love for basketball that others seem to have forgotten they once had. When you know, deep down, you've found something that you're really good at, don't you want to continue to be better at all aspects surrounding that "something" and work hard to keep it? That is what I believe Clark has done since she was a young girl!! The attention, the stats, the praise and yes, even the millions in endorsements, I will never believe were her main goals going from college to the "W". You just don't get as good as she is with eyes focused on everything away from the game and her desire to win. That attention and those rewards were not of her asking but rather, "thrust" upon her and ANYONE in her shoes would be stupid (which she's not) to pass up those opportunities!! Being the grounded person she is, it appears those things have been given to one mature enough to handle it all. We've all seen that those opportunities were not just for her future but also for the FUTURE of the league!!! She's done that and still remains as humble as one can be, even though she's received little more than the bad, the hate, the jealousy, the racism, with the good!! Many players have shown the world that they are classless and have no real love for the game but rather, for themselves, individually!! Swoopes and Reese are in the top 5 on that list of the ungrateful. And because Swoopes can't accept the "new generation", she chooses to live in HER past and uses the slowly crumbling pedestal she expects to stay on, to shout out her disdain and hatred. And then there's Reese who has shown she's ONLY after the spotlight to be put on her with little effort to be better than just a rebounder. Some of the rest have only shown us their anger, jealousy and childishness when they take cheap shots and literally, assault her on the court. There are many reasons why CC is the MVP. 1) the statistics the media use to determine who is MVP are misleading and do not quantify value. Assist are more than twice the value of rebounds to a teams score and ability to win.. 2.1 points for ever assist is actually low, 1.1 for every rebound is actually high. Steals are an indicator of team hustling. 1.5 points is about right. The formula of FG + FT + (assist x 2.1)+ (rebounds x 1.1) +(steals x1.5) clark 2000 points generated Aja 15000, the MVP is not close statisticaly. I have no idea how the media is able lie the way they do. If clark decided to dish the ball the same as Aja and score she would have 35 points a game.....and the media would think that was dominating but her team would lose...getting players involed is far more valuable than a player scoring gig averages. The media never mentioned Ajas stacked team has lost twice the games as last year nor that clarks team has won more games than the last to years. Aja's game is boring! A'ja is the reason for the Acrs winning and not the reason they lose, CC is a reason the Fever win and a reason why they lose, that is why CC is ROTY and A'ja is the MVP. Plus the fact the Aces won the season series against the Fever with A'ja having dominant performances and would not have won those games without A'ja. Plus the fact A'ja is a much better on ball and off ball defender than CC.
