An exquisite fan edit of the Vampire Armand aka Rashid (Assad Zaman), from AMC's #interviewwiththevampire (2022) by "The Vampire Chronicles | IWTV ⚰️' IG/Twitter: @vampchronicles_
I love that his response to the question about the language he's praying in was 'maybe if I have big, beautiful eyes, Daniel will forget the question.'
Reading the book and the Vampire casting is AMAZING. The changes they made were really well thought out and making Daniel older for a twist is really fun
They were good at hiding him in plain sight. I also missed him taking out his contacts on my first view when Daniel was goading Louis. At first I assumed the unusual phrasing was due to English not being his first language and him wearing gloves wasn't odd since everyone else was too.
Having been a fan of the Vampire Chronivles for 38 years, I saw Rashid’s true identity from the second episode. That said, I liked his portrayal in this. I’m interested to see where this goes.
@@sharcon3891 As the storyline of the show diverges so far from the novels, they can't be relied upon. However, the character of Armand was the only major character from the books not mentioned in the casting list. But even the prominence of Rashid on the IMDB page led me to believe that there was more to this character than met the eye. But it was the mention of Marius, a character that wasn't created at the time of the original novel and a direct connection to Armand, that really convinced me.
I knew he wasn't who he said he was when he mentioned "electronic mailbox." like someone who remembers when the printing press was still a new technology!
@sharcon3891 He mentioned Marius and knew too much of an older history for someone's that's supposed to be in his mid 20s/general 20s. His weird banter with Daniel. Armand's sharp and super elegant in his speech but with Daniel he likes to show his genuine age in an attempt to get Daniel to tame down. With Daniel, Rashid doesn't act like a calm, mild-mannered young man he is as a butler/manservant; with Daniel, Armand acts like a mature man. He's more slow but precise in his speech. At random points there's subtle "heart eyes" towards Daniel from episode 3 when Daniel's saucing turns extra spicy. Armand likes Daniel's bantering enough to humor him without requesting him to calm down or give him respect. Other vamps would've smacked Daniel the second he threw the first shade. Rashid instead plays back with Daniel in his banter. Entertained by it. To me it became confirmation by episode 3 but the Armand being sucked off at the table in front of Daniel really confirmed it. Daniel looked visibly awkward, embarrassed, exposed, uncomfortable and upset. He wanted to be in Louis' place enjoying Armand. That Louis callously revealed Daniel's thoughts to Armand made it clear. Why would Rashid need to know or want to know how Daniel sees him? Is it because Armand wants to be seen as lover/man by Daniel? Would feel happier if there was a small shred of love or desire on his part? Armand did care about that. A lot. So Armand it was.
The reveal of Armand was really great! I definitely find Rashid an interesting character to keep eye one. Getting closer to the end I suspected him to be Armand. I love Assad's portrayl of him and he owns the 2nd season for me
Looking back now that we are in Season 2, it makes me wonder what prominent ancients we've seen so far because these vampires lose their weakness to sunlight as they get older!
I like Rashid from season one, and asking the same questions as Daniel but tourning in Armand was so cool that i ever seen.. So for now he is my favourite character in season 2 too and even more
@@micbln8967It would be fun if they left him as he was actually. It's not an uncommon sight in the gay community to see an older man and a not so older looking young man make a partnership. Let a lone a well-groomed not ugly one with a brain and charisma. It would be refreshing in seeing a more common reality of the gay community that yes, old men get around. Some young men do them. Plus Bogosian is so fun and genuinely adorable in his brattiness as Daniel. Technically Armand's a mummy so he's going to be an ancient sugar daddy to the world's oldest sugar baby. NGL thay sounds like a fun ride to me.
Interview with a vampire Rasheed and Lastemed or as such also the same characters in Queen of the damn with Aliyah. I believe the girl and that guy are the original ls reincarnatiled shom how. But I don't know if the writers will interact the exact identity on the originals or go into depth... But wish they would...
@@quintran1234He's not worse or better. These words have no place in the Vampire Chronicles when they're all monsters, with tragic stories, and many human traits. Each character has its own darkness. Lestat does, and Armand does too. Armand is one of the major and most enigmatic vampires in the chronicles.
Ehhhh, disagree with Sam and Jacob. Assad played Armand beautifully, he embodied him, and he understood the character. Jacob made me like Louis a little more. He is good, and that's it. But Sam version of Lestat is effin terrible! His version of him is far from what Lestat is in the book, which I love, I love Lestat in the books. I still believe Tom Cruise embodied Lestat better.
