For the sponge
1 + ½ cups (180g) all purpose flour (maida)
1 teaspoon (4g) baking powder
1 cup (285g) yogurt
½ teaspoon (3g) baking soda
¾ cup (150g) castor sugar
½ cup (120mL) vegetable oil
1 teaspoon (5mL) Vanilla Extract
For milk mixture
1½ cups milk
½ cup condensed milk
¾ cup heavy cream
½ tsp cardamom
7-8 strands of saffron
For garnish
Whipped cream
Chopped pistachios

Your recipe is as always so amazing, so well explained and a treat to eyes and taste buds. But the production, like can we stop for a second and observe how you payed attention to meticulous details in the decoration. Like rasmalai and tres leches? Yes. Like you and your partner baking this dessert together? Yes yes yes! We’ve taken this Rasmalai Tres Leches Cake recipe from a one-person job to a two-person party, so that you and your sweetie can do a lot less work and have a lot more fun, together. Because when it’s made by two, you get to make the food and some memories, too! Sweeeeet!* Cooking time with your better half: 1 hour Chef 1: Ingredients: For the sponge 1 + ½ cups (180g) all-purpose flour (maida) 1 teaspoon (4g) baking powder 1 cup (285g) yoghurt ½ teaspoon (3g) baking soda ¾ cup (150g) castor sugar ½ cup (120mL) vegetable oil 1 teaspoon (5mL) Vanilla Extract Procedure: Combine the curd and baking soda. Mix well and set aside for 5 minutes. Combine the vegetable oil and the superfine sugar in a large bowl. Using a whisk, mix well to ensure that you incorporate a lot of air for a light and fluffy cake. Add the curd mixture and mix well. Add a splash of vanilla extract to the mix. Sift the All-purpose flour and baking powder into a large bowl. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture to create a smooth batter. Line a baking pan with parchment paper and fill up the mixture. Bake the cake for 30 minutes at 180 C or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. While the cake is baking, don’t forget to check on chef 2 for a helping hand! Chef 2: Ingredients: For milk mixture 1½ cups milk ½ cup condensed milk ¾ cup heavy cream ½ tsp cardamom 7-8 strands of saffron For garnish Whipped cream Chopped pistachios Procedure: Add the warm milk into a large bowl. Mix in the saffron and cardamom powder. Add in the heavy cream and condensed milk and stir the mixture well. Once the cake is baked and ready, take a fork and poke holes across the entire surface of the cake. While the cake is still warm, pour in the milk mixture in batches and allow the cake to absorb it. Place the cake in the fridge for an hour, until the mixture is well absorbed. Maybe while away the time by sharing an extra spoon of leftover condensed milk with chef 1. Garnish the cake with whipped cream and pistachios. Your Rasmalai Tres Leches cake is best enjoyed with your better half. *Disclaimer: This is not a paid activity. @@szshaza we have to use HEAVY CREAM not FRESH CREAM. USE AMUL WHIPPING CREAM. It comes in a white & red carton

Just made this! Turned out excellent 👌🏼 I added a little splash of rose water to the cream and doubled the cardamom and saffron (I like lots of flavour). Thank you for the recipe!!! Will make this again

In your response to that question in place of heavy cream ,the fresh cream can be used ! Is Amul Fresh cream is okay to mix with the milk ? Also As one of your videos suggested that fat content should be 30% in the fresh cream ,so that we get appropriate consistency of the frosting cream ! Which one have you used for the whipped cream ?

It depends on the whipping cream you are using.. taste and see.. some have sugar already added. You can check RU-vid vidoes on whipping creams

i tried this tres leches.. and it turned out to be amazing and perfect...Shivesh's style is great and easy...I had tried doughnts, lemon cake, red Velvet...and Everything turned out perfect... and he gives a perfect description...Really recommend him and loved almost all the recipes...keep it up Shivesh.. you have been really really helpful...guys you can try his recipes blindly..🌸🌸🙌

Hii! I live in Bangalore too, and unfortunately I've not seen heavy cream too in any of the stores. But you can try the fresh cream from this brand called "GO". It can be used a good substitute to heavy cream as the GO cream has a fat content of 37%. Shivesh had mentioned in his earlier videos that Amul fresh cream has a fat content of only 25-ish%. Next time you go into a store do check the fat content for this brand called Milky Mist. The Cream they make is slightly thicker than the Amul one. Hope this helped 😁

Thanks for this wonderful Diwali Special dessert. The moment I saw it I knew I am gonna try this out and yesterday evening I had made it...JAnd i tell u the sponge cake was so soft and tasty and once i added the milk mixture it was smelling divine. But bcoz of time constraints I couldn't finish the garnishing with whipped cream. Want to know whether it will affect the taste of the cake if its left overnight in the fridge?

Made this yesterday for my mom's birthday and it was a huge hit! I ended up having alot of extra of the cream mixture so I let the leftover sit with it overnight and I swear the cake was even more tasty the next day! Such a quick and simple recipe, I changed the milk and used skim milk and added less sugar for some members of my fam.

Unfortunately this recipe didn't work despite following it to the T - the cake barely browned, it wasn't light or spongy and tasted quite oily. The milk soak lacked gravitas, so I switched it out for a real rabri which was the only saving grace. I would also not recommend soaking the cake with the butterpaper under, is a nightmare to remove after it becomes soggy. This is the first time I tried a recipe from this channel and I am a little trepidatious to try more.

1. The heavy cream used by you is warm or straight out of the tetrapack? 2. Can we use the normal amul fresh cream?

Hi. Can I make cake a day before n pour milk cream liquid on the day of serving. Will cake get soaked with milk as it is made day before or need to warm up before pouring milk on it ?
