I've completely reset my nodes, and now for the 3rd month in a row they didn't earn a single dollar, because within this time period each node only received 200 gigabytes of data. Either there is too many hosting nodes on the network and very little demand from users, or they've changed something in the algorithm so now you need more time to prove that your node is reliable. One way or another, it became harder to join the network.
This is a very nice tutorial for this. One thing that I noticed is that, as of some point after you created this, a change was made that allows the Adguard Home database to be retained even when rebooting.
Hello, Thank you for the video, I have a question pls, everything work fine , from my LAN subnet I can go to the WAN, however when I install and configure AdGuard , (change port to 553) and start AdGuard, DNS doesn't work , I ping google IP address but not the domain name. even from the router I'm not able to ping google.fr. Any idea plz?
Hi Yarislav. Can you tell me which USB3 to Ethernet adapter are you using? which brand and model number? Also in the video you mentioned the adapter is an rtl8153 but you loaded drivers for an rtl8152, is this correct?
HI./ question. My install didn't have this entry in the adguard file. It had mention of WORK DIR and I am not sure where to edit to put the directory we created in the PI. It had config_get WORK_DIR config workdir and also after the /etc/adguardhome.yaml instead of the tmp directory it had "WORK_DIR"
Hello, I followed your steps. Able to follow till ip change, however further not able to connect to internet. I connected Raspi to ISP Fiber Optic router (192.168.1.1) thru' LAN port. Tagged my Raspi as 192.1681.4..however still not able to connect to internet. I am able to SSH raspi, however not able to get thru' it to internet

Hello and thank you for the video. I have used your video as a guide to my OpenWRT with RPi. But mine has a difference: I have another interface for a VLAN (used for Guest WIFI). If I change the DNS port (14:02) to 553, the devices connected to the guest VLAN can't get connected to the internet. I've made Firewall rules allowing that VLAN zone to reach port 53 in the router, but I still can't get those devices connected to the internet. What am I doing wrong?
hi i need to use a usb thethering of my phone instead of a modem, i've installed the drivers for tethering and set up open wrt, but i can't figure out how to set up the router, and in the new build the partition isn't ext4 but unknow and it's impossible to resize.. i've solved but ad guard not block any ad
I'll have to check, might be that they only use squashfs images now. Will update the article shortly if this is a case. Never tried tethering, but the idea sounds interesting, will probably give it a go.

You must be accessing SSH service on the WAN port, which is not allowed by default

Thank you Yaroslav, I will give it a go. Have you tried any WireGuard tests? Also I am thinking about cutting away the AdGuard Home bit and bake in my own Unbound DNS solution to deal with that part of the problem. Everything else seems like a good and viable solution. can you make a video from start to finish please. I am looking for a setup for WAN on my usb enet adapter, and LAN network on the internal and the wireless adapter.
I did everything you did exactly as you did, this works sometimes but somehow ads find a workaround, it blocks some ads that's all, not near as efficient as using the chrome extension, a waste of time imho.
It can only block what's in the DNS database. Extension is much more efficient, I agree, but you can't install the extension on top of the IoT devices unfortunately.
RPi 3 is not a great fit due to USB speed limitations and ethernet speed limitations: it will be nowhere near 1g. On the other hand, if your internet line is slower than that, you might as well give it a go.
@@GatewayITTutorials I got it working on RPi 3 b+ with the help of your instruction in video. I was able to achieve the highest speed of my internet around 60Mbps. However I couldn't reach to the adguardhome UI in browser. Not sure if anything changes? I changed the DNS to 553 and try exactly instructed in video. Any idea what could be issue?
NP mate :) The setup you see in this video worked for the past 6 months with only one issue: SD card goes into read-only mode randomly after a powercut (sometimes it works fine, other times I have to SSH in and fix the issue). But other than that it's been solid. Now thinking about trying a squashfs image, which could solve the problem :)

Usually normal FIFO is enough, if you are using the aftermarket router like OpenWRT, because there is enough RAM to fit the extra packets. If you want to use codel queue, it would really depend on the number of clients and uplink speed. I can't imagine RPi4 doing codel for more than 10-15 clients on 1Gb link. But this is all just speculation, I never actually tried to do it :) Post your findings here, if you end up getting it up and running, so I can let more people know about it ;)
@@GatewayITTutorials thanks for your reply atm I am using the ISP router/modem/AP and the optic fibre is definitely suffering some buffer bloat issues and I am looking for solutions (mikrotik, ASUS, raspberry pi…) I am searching something that could handle one client (Xbox series S) with the best latency possible and then allow wifi for phones/tablets/laptop. ISP connection is 600/600 mb , do you think Raspberry would be recommended? I can bridge the isp router and setup the vlan setup the ap and the one wired client and I am good to go.
