Personally I'd just buy an old box and get my arcade button bit on my drill, and then cut and hot snot the rest in place..

@@DavidLindes my latest arcade controller box is being made using an old Ikea coffee table, it's a lot easier than custom crafting everything. But yes, different approach, same result, but I'm better at seeing potential and adapting objects that designing custom parts.

Looks great. If a kit is produced it should include a few rotary knobs too or maybe a ribbon slider.

I'm guessing the number of buttons is limited by the GPIO ports on the Raspberry. Would it be able to add more buttons with a port expander?

is there a controller i can buy, with BUTTONS, which send customizable midi notes programmed to the machine itself, and NOT programmed to an external software? Then i could control old gear which accepts midi in, using BUTTONS. I'm trying to control an old echoplex looper which accepts midinote values to change its various functions. IF such a controller exists (footpedals do, but i need BUTTONS), then i could operate these old and HEAVY loopers, with a small hand-tapping controller.
