I am not english native speaker. When I heard original of this song in radio I didn't understand 50% of words, they were mashed together and hard to distinguish. Your cover is sang so clear, I have no problem with understanding almost everything :)

Aside from being a great cover, this song just seems to sound better when sung by women. i.e. guys singing about how this man stole all their girls so they killed him, vs women singing about their awesome, charismatic lover who got killed when the other guys got jealous. It goes from a song sung by jealous aholes, to a song of celebration and mourning by the women he left behind who call out the murderers as cowards and incompetents
