@@juliamichelle6212 yeah. Instrumental can be really nice. I do think vocals are instrument too but sometimes they just overtake the song. Then again, sometimes really good lyric writing can really enhance a song.
I’ve been listening for about 17 years ok... Edit: the irony in this is that it’s actually not very far off anymore.. started listening in 2006 with classics when I was 15. Good god I’m old.
This might be one of the most beautiful music videos of all time. Of course the song is amazing too. But the video, what a pure celebration of human joy, talent, endeavor, life, energy. It fills me with gratitude. Thank you, Ratatat. The first band I ever saw live and many times since. My favorite of all time. Can’t wait for the next album, please never stop producing as a duo. God bless you guys
I agree completely! I've considered this song to be my personal anthem pretty much since it was released. I still feel that way, and it's inspiring even if I've been feeling down lately. I always come back to this positive place.
Love this comment 💕 so much genuine gratitude and love expressed. I wasn’t even watching the video got lost in the comments and you made me realize there’s a fabulous background video to this comments section
I will always remember seeing RATATAT live in New Zealand and there was probably like 100 people in that venue. I danced for about a solid hour right in front of them. It was so pure. Thanks for that guys
It's a typical Ratatat song. However, it's so energic, full of force, stamina. And at the same time, it's beautiful. Beautifully composed, each music phase is perfectly introduced. With quality speakers and a great sound system, it's a bliss. Thanks Ratatat.
The more I listen to this song, the more I think this is my personal favorite off of the album. It's got those sweet riffs you got from Sunblocks, where it hits all emotional-like. But it's all upbeat and happy. Not to mention, it's something excellent to dance to!
The one theme all the imagery in this video has in common: every piece of it represents the complex intricacy of coordination enabled to energy-expending life forms by the laws of nature. Dancers, Olympian gymnasts, body language, the simple design of fireworks, a stunt driver jumping a car, the sprint of a big cat, the spontaneous flight of a flock of birds... guitarists. Highly refined coordination.
Listen to there first 3 albums from early 2000's so much better. Just like all bands albums before. This band started toning down the awesome after that bullshit collab with Kid Cudi.
Ratatat finally came out with their beautiful piece that we've all been waiting impatiently for. Thank you for listening to our pleads. I love this. On repeat for days. Instantly puts me in a good mood. And if you don't like it, good luck. They won't have another album out for years. Because greatness can't be dished out in a matter of months.
I envy the amount of imagination and creativity these guys have. But I’m so proud of them and they deserve to be soo much more recognized. Although, I know they’ll go on making art regardless because that’s who they are.
Brent Bauer Yeah! It makes me wonder tought.. Why someone would play video games while in space? Space is awesome. It's a dream come true. But i guess it is the same with cars. The first drivers never tought people would get bored driving or traveling that way. So common people in space = eventually boring time... If i find some stuff to play that can overcome the fact that we're in space... i could get rich! Every damn space travellers would buy it! Think man, THINK... Something that would be funny, adaptable... guess i could sell them weed
+Paul Mathieu Being in space is like being a cop. Everyone thinks its all car chases and shooting black guys but really its mostly just a ton of paperwork and bs meetings.
+destroface1 is getting us in the next level of understanding. He's breaking our representations of the adlut world. Specially the cops one. You're being hard with us good sir. Thanks RATATAT for bringing these people together.
I taught it was like the superclassic never old and culty sound of ratatat (daft punk too) rappresented by the Nintendo played in a new way that is cutting Edge like a spaceship
To me, Ratatat creates amazingly elaborate tunes without vocals which are hugely profound in their emotional side. I've found myself feeling touched and energetic at the same time again and again while listening to them. Abrasive makes me to think of my friends at school who I adore so much and the sad truth that we won't see each other so often anymore when our school ends this spring.
Literally perfection. this sonorous poetry flows through my ears like a river runs its course. this melody is ethereal, reminiscence of a polar sunset. there's more beauty into this than ones can fathom. thank you for existing, ratatat.
I don’t know if Ratatat will ever see this, but Evan pat my (extremely fluffy) hair during the concert in Niagara Falls in 2015, and it’s still been one of the most awesome experiences I ever had. I absolutely love the passion you two put into everything; thank you so much for making such incredible content!
Oh man, I haven't heard anything like this since that time I heard something like this. And it sounded a lot like this. Actually, it was this. I just had the song/music on repeat. This.
Finally, I've been waiting on something official from yall since you played this song at coachella. I dedicate this song to a childhood friend who was just recently murdered, he lived life with a passion and flare this song possess. RIP my friend til we meet again...
BEAUTIFUL! I DROVE DOWN THE HIGHWAY BLASTING THIS BEFORE MY FIGHT! I DROVE BACK DOWN THE HIGHWAY AFTER WINNING THE FIGHT BLASTING THIS SCREAMING "I WON!" AT ALL THE CARS PASSING ME! thank you my ratatat brothers love, health and happiness to you this song makes me feel good :)
For whatever reason this feels almost like the soundtrack of the twenty first century, at once absurd, joyous, and oddly sad. I suppose that’s every century really ;)
This song is so funky. I heard it on the radio a few weeks ago and I contacted the radio station to find out who it was, they sent me the link to this video. Oh man, this song is amazing.
Found this whilst waiting for a server to load on Gmod. I hate the huge wait when waiting to join the server for the 1st time, but this was different. It had his soundtrack in the background on repeat. Probably the best thing that I've ever heard.
