RATE THE...TRAILERS?! Max & Steve Review Fighting Game Trailers 

DarktheHeroAxel no for real tho, it was doubly crazy hype because this was wayyyy before the Deadpool movie, and Deadpool wasn’t nearly as popular then as he is now. Dante had also not been seen since DMC4 in 2008 so he was really missed too. Then the shootout scene was fucking sublime

Exactly, not only was it this incredibly well done scene that showed off both characters own styles, it was a statement on top of that. Everyone knew that it would be a new MvC the minute we saw Ryu and Wolverine, and we went through some expected characters, Ryu and Wolverine, Iron Man and Morrigan, an RE Rep (in this case Chris) and Hulk, etc. all returning or expected. And then we zoom in on Dante, one of the most popular and requested characters from Capcom, and Deadpool, one of the most popular and requested Marvel characters, getting confirmed right off the bat and in this incredible way that shows why the fans like these characters. It was a perfect storm of hype and really made brought home the entire trailer.

It fucking is, I was a huge DMC3 fan during that time, and that trailer introduced me to Deadpool. I mean cocky, nearly immortal doods in red, with guns and swords? It was a dream MvC mirror match! And Polygon handled that quick scene perfectly~ Especially that goddamn slow mo after the trigger happy MY GOD it drives me rabid everytime

The first time I noticed that I found it funny too, but since then I've kind of curbed how much I poke fun at my own friends for their pronunciation of words. It's already habit for them and we understand each other's meaning.

Soul Calibur 6 still doesn't have arcade mode endings, which annoys me, but at least this time what they DO have are individual story modes and a fucking museum mode

Dafuq did you expect??? It was a game back from the mid 90's. It was all they could do, and as a kid back then in the early 2000's the ps one port got me so hyped for a Marvel Movie that was coming out at the time.

You know I don’t TOTALLY hate the cinematic trailer for Infinite. Don’t get me wrong UMVC3 is miles above it but the cinematic trailer looks better than the actual game for Infinite.

Some say that it had the best hype to length of time ratio in the industry. These fighting games try too hard by doing huge anime or CG animations and often lack the number "4"...

Bilal Khan The gameplay was great, the roster was great if a bit wtf (Zangief and Rufus on a team, really?), and the character designs were lovably goofy. It could have been much better, but the DLC pretty much killed it.

They blew their budget on great trailers and original music and thought they would make the money back on gems

you are totally right comparing popularity it's like if they put like hakan instead of ryu like I don't hate hakan but your average person is like who even is that? especially since this was pre captain marvel in the cinematic universe.

the jump festa for fighterz along with the trailer for cooler is one of the best trailers for fighting games in the last decade, the only thing that is as good is the geese trailer for tekken 7.

I will have to dislike the video just for the lack of Tekken 5. That intro has everything: music, great graphics, shows most characters and most importantly IT BRINGS BACK characters from Tekken 2

SPARKING is probably one of my favorite into songs of all time. Only thing in my personal opinion that comes close as far as songs go, is Hekira no Sora he Izanaedo, the OP/Astral Finish song from Blazblue: Continuum Shift. The breakdown in that (the part that plays for Astrals) is so fucking hype to me.

It feels genuine, characters are usually so focused, but when something like this happens, it gives them depth.
