Ratemeter LED Modification

If you have a ratemeter with a speaker, it is possible to add a detection-LED without much work. So, with every detection, the LED blinks.
The LED sits in series with a resistor, and the two sit in parallel to the speaker. In my case, I routed it through an existing rotary switch, so I can choose if I want the LED on or the speaker on. However, it is easier to just skip the switch and have the speaker and LED be on at the same time.

Great job! Very informative video. Do you know if it is possible to modify Ludlum to have pulse out so that you can do gamma spectroscopy with it?

Thanks! Yes, I think it is possible, but the method of doing so varies with the model and year. I have attempted this before, but have never really done a good job at it. I want to try it again soon. The legend himself, Carl Willis, was one of the first who did this, I think.
