Nice to see all the comments. The best time to visit Odisha is of course winter. However, if you want to visit lord Jagannath Temple, it is open 365 days and devotees get opportunities to have darshan of the deities from a very close distance. Ratha Yatra (Car Festival) is one the finest occasion to visit Puri and have darshan of the Lord on the chariots. However, the deities do not give darshan during the 15 days, prior to the ratha Yatra, when as per the belief they get treated for the fever they suffer after the ceremonial bath on Snana Yatra. Interesting!
Thanks a lot. We went to Puri Lord Jaganath temple on 6th July 2013. . Disappointed very much as the Garbhagraha was closed. The preparations for Rath Yatra were going on. We pray Lord Jaganath to give us another chance to have dhrashan of Lord. We prayed at Goddess Vimaladevi and Mahalakshi. Janakiram.T.K,, Maduai.
