Thanks, I really appreciate the feedback. This video took an unexpected large amount of time to film and put together and I really wanted to do it because, like you say, I believe in the product and I really appreciate the work they do. They are not a big company and there was no video out there about the table so I wanted to do my part in supporting their art and work ethic. Right now I sadly don’t have the time to sacrifice to pursue further videos but I’ll never say never :)

Thank you for taking the time to write to write the message. I appreciate it. If you have any questions let me know. I think the new models have more high tech options compared to when I bought it, but I have no regrets. The table is fantastic.

@@boardgamedungeon432 Major credit for such a high quality video. Genuinely both the filming and the high quality of the information given. I mean you answer nearly everything one could ask for. You're right about the new tech (though it's not a make or break thing IMHO) that new solid LED lighting, especially with the option that gives it animations and ranges seems really impressive. I've always thought LED on gaming tables were cool, but I can see starting a gaming session and giving people their own zones their own light colors they want, or using an an animated lighting effect for the game etc. Still not critical, but genuinely above and beyond what I see from anyone else. The only question I could think of that you didn't answer is would you by chance get the measurement of the ledges on both the long and short sides? I can't seem to find this information anywhere and right now in my crazy game table buying decision obsession I created a spreadsheet with a bunch and their various measurements. Especially to compare to the one I already have (a very cheap one, that works fine but has various flaws that Rathskellers tables solve) to get a better idea. There's just something about the Altar table specifically that seems special and luxurious to me. Also an amazing stain choice as well. Your stain choice seems to be the perfect blend of dark enough not to feel dated (like the old honey oak color) but light enough to show off the beautiful gradient of the grain. I guess another question might be about the chairs, if you feel the bottom cushion is supportive enough for heavy people? I don't see the chairs listed on their website so not sure if they still make those, but those really look nice and I think you made a great point that getting it to match the stain of your table is a very nice feature.

@MattKingTuT Hi there, that's extensive feedback, thank you! So the ledges on both the long and short sides are 10cm. As for the chairs, I am a fairly big guy and they are comfortable for me, would say the cushion part is not super thick and these chairs are probably a little tighter around if the waist if one is on the larger side. So when I bought the chair they were never advertised, they just sent me a few choices of chairs to choose from and this one of them, I am sure they have more variety now. Reach out to them, they are extremely helpful and really go out of their way to help find what suits you.

Hi Vexed Hermit, I personally am not bothered much by the width when it come to a small foot print game. I think the only issue is the length when it come to a 4 player game where a player plays on their edge, but this is problematic on any table other than a square table or smaller table. It terms of your question I find that with games like this where there is a small footprint and many players then everyone just chips in in passing what you need. So in summary the Rathskellers table doesn’t pose a bigger challenge than a normal dinner table would. I hope that answers your question, if not, let me know.

@@boardgamedungeon432 Thanks for the astute response, as it has been influential on a rather pressing decision to go with Rathskellers or Wyrmwood. The former's customer service was unbelievably prompt when I reached out, and given their willingness to work with prospective clients on a build has instilled a great deal of confidence. The latter, while friendly purveyors of quality gaming accessories, left me with a rather contrived experience. Ostensibly due to their immense success as a company; options have supplanted customization in most instances. You can almost feel that they don't need your patronage. lol

@@vexedhermit couldn’t agree more :) I really only made the video because Rathskellers as a company I feel are under appreciated when it comes to quality and design. It was a wonderful pleasure working with them to get what I wanted from a gaming table. I wish you the best of luck on your journey, you won’t regret it.

Hi Andrew,, Essen (Essenspiel) is the worlds biggest boardgame convention. it is like gencon in the US or UKGE in the UK. Essen however takes place in Essen, Germany at around the 3rd week of October. A few thousand new games are presented every year at the convention so it is a pretty big deal. Depending on where you are located in the world, Essen could be a bit far for a trip but you would have to way up the discount you get with the price you are willing to spend on a table. It more than likely will be worthwhile all things considered, and you can enjoy a few days playing games at the convention. Unfortunately most conventions are cancelled for this year but have an online format for 2020, this may however prove to be even more beneficial for you, as Rathskellers could possible provide the same discount online during the Essen Spiel period, the only drawback however is that you won’t see their craftsmanship first hand. If you like I can find out for you if they are planning to have the same discount online during the Essen Spiel period. Any more questions let me know! Thanks for watching👍

Andrew Heathcote Hi Andrew, I reached out to them and unfortunately they won't be able to offer such a discount as it usually applies to their demo tables that they have at the fair but If you contact them directly (info@rathskellers.com) it would be possible to pre-order one of these tables prior to the fair that is near you (not only at Essen) and you could then enjoy a 20% discount. I would recommend you reach out to them and see what options are available that fit your budget.
