Merry Christmas! A fantastic video of my favorite house with some creative, powerhouse fragrances. Might need to get my hands on Overture Woman the way you described it 😏 In my continuous journey, I've come to the realization that Karine Vinchon-Spehner is my favorite perfumer, mainly through her collaborations and creations for Amouage (Memoir, Overture, and Fate). Again, have a Merry Christmas and safe and wonderful New Year's 🤙
Killer presentation as always. And agreed about Blossom Love and Sunshine Man, a couple of personal faves of mine as well. And now I just *know* I am going to get my nose on Oveture Woman. 👌 As always, smelling most fine! Merry Christmas friends! 🙋♂️🎄
Merry Christmas, Eric! Amouage is probably my favorite house. I have a bottle of Myths Man, Memoir Man, Fate Man, Figment Man, Interlude Man, Imitation Man, Portrayal Man, Overture Man, Reflection Man, Enclave, Boundless, Opus VII (Reckless Leather), and Royal Tobacco in my collection. I always get excited when they release a new fragrance.
Yes sir! Merry Christmas! I always look forward to your video uploads! Amouage Jubilation XXV is the fragrance that really made me fall in love with Niche fragrances.
Man what a WICKED good collection , love the list . I need to get my nose on some of the library collection . Merry Christmas Brutha to you & your Family . Cheers 🥂🍺🍻😎
Great review Eric, funny thing is Opus Vi is what I'm wearing today , even before I watched you video. It's my #2..Jubilation 25, is my absolute #1.. Cheers! And Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! Another wonderful video. Surprised to hear Figment Man is your second most complimented Amouage. I own it and it's fascinating, but to be honest I'm reluctant to wear it in public.
Merry Christmas Eric from my family to yours! Love how you referenced the #1 (hot girl you know you can't get but gonna shoot your shot anyway) of course I'm paraphrasing your statement. Love your edits: bonus points for the Sam Kinison clip and BEwitched sound effects! ONE LOVE from Beautiful Pensacola, Florida ❤️ 👊🏽
Recently stumbled upon your channel. Refreshing, no bs, independent take on fragrances. I love that you dont look at the demographic marketing, just the fragrance itself
Great review! Amouage is my all-time favorite House!!! That Opus XIV is ridiculous! Have you tried Silver Out or any of the attars? I just ordered Purpose from the recently released Odyssey line.
YES, Amouage ranking! I must try opus XI, as I love styrax. Poor Myths Woman... I found wearing just one spray and in the heat works best for me. My top 3 might be Portrayal Woman, Memoir Woman, Bracken Man.
Amouage doesn't catch enough slack for their reformulations. They're on some ridiculous Estee Lauder b.s with water down their best sellers and then releasing overpriced extraits.
Oh man, i smelled Overture Woman at Kuala Lumpur and i agree with you. IT IS STUNNING. I smelled the others from their line and that particular one stands out the most for me.
Nice list! My top 10 favourites are : Jubilation XXV Man, Lyric Man , Imitation Man, Journey Man and Interlude Man followed by Bracken Man, Reflection Man, Beloved Man , Memoir Man, and Myths Man . Best "female" release for me is also Overture Woman
In the past I decanted some of my Blossom Love and the juice was a deep pinkish red. Ordered a sample of Blossom Love from Luckyscent and the juice is simply a feint peach color. I've yet to conclude if there was an obvious reformulation but it certainly seems to be watered down. The current Blossom Love is light and airy whereas the older version was very rich. I may not repurchase but if I do I'll have to toss the bottle in a dark closet for at least 6 months.
I never hear anyone talk about rose incense…I own quite a few amouage myself and RI & jub 25 are my top 2. I have samples of RT & will def pick up a bottle as soon as it hits discounters
Great video as always. After seeing your number 2 ranked Amouage, Im curious, have you tried Xerjoff Tony Iommi Monkey Special. Its another AMAZING tobacco. If not, check it out, Im curious to see where you would put it on your tobacco list.
Brother I had to get a sample of overture woman. I received it today and upon sniffing and spraying this piece on my skin iknee that I had to acquire a full bottle. This juice is absolutely mind boggling Sensational. You did a good job bro in your presentation. This juice is something unlike anything in my collection.
Rightfully so Royal tobacco is a real stunner. Overture woman is real great as well but a tad feminine to my nose. Cecile Z knocked it out of the park with RT. Surprised interlude black iris wasn’t on here.
Track - You're Too Young Artist - Black Dragon (Me) Lead Vocals - Me Background Vocals - Me Production - Me Engineering - Me Keyboards - Me Drum Programming - Me 😀
My absolutely favorite is Beach Hut Man (in high temperatures). Royal Tobacco is very pleasing, my wife likes Reflection Man more than I do (ad you said, most of the scents are unisex). I will have to try Sunshine Man (it is sold out everywhere in Berlin). Ordered a small tester and when I am at Doha Airport in July and August: I will rob the Amouage duty free shop - if they have good offers!
Sunshine Woman anf Blossom Love are two more favorites of my wife (both from Elise Benat, she did also Beach Hut Man). As I am getting more and more into fragrances, I can tell by the perfumer, if I like or not like the fragrances. Jubilation is not for me as well as Roja perfumes. Just by the look of Roja Dove, I can say I am too young and straight for his perfumes…
@@Sahbomnim Yea, I remember that video. I have to go back and watch it. Gotta find out what amber frag you said you would replace Amber Absolute with if she were to ever run outta gas...🤣
Yes!! 😍 That was aaaawesame!! Have a botlle of Ouverture Woman on ny way… It was LOVE at very first sniff!! The animalic note is… eateble.. Would LOVE to smell Blossom Love on a man, actually… Could be interesting..
Don’t listen to these praises people, he owns first formulations with friction (non magnetic) caps, and if you are planning on buying recent formulations of Amouage based on this you will be horribly disappointed as they literally humiliated every single one of them. JPG Ultra Male today kicks Amouage Reflection Man’s ass easily. Sample these faint scents before buying, only a couple Amouages are really good these days. Good luck!
*sigh. There's always one. 😑 How exactly do you "humiliate" an inanimate object? Anyway, for the people reading this..... Magnetic cap Amouage fragrances that fill rooms: Opus XIV Royal Tobacco Overture Man Overture Woman Imitation Man Imitation Woman Blossom Love Myths Man Myths Woman Portrayal Man Portrayal Woman Bracken Woman Beach Hut Woman Interlude 53 Epic Woman Interlude Black Iris Interlude Woman Jubilation 25 Guidance Opus XIII Silver Oud I went ahead and left off Fate Man, Figment Man, and Figment Woman. Those have magnetic caps, and are absolute monsters. The reason I didn't include them on this list, is because they're all EOL-ed. Now I'm wondering what rule it breaks, to have fragrances NOT fill ballrooms. I thought the reason we wear fragrance is to smell good, not to gag maggots. So, I'm sure you can understand my confusion. Are the Amouage fragrances you're talking about bad because they're not beasts, or are they bad because they don't smell good? (Which, again, is what I thought the goal was when you wear fragrance.)
Well, let’s agree with the fact that their first formulations are superior to all recent ones, scents used to be richer, they used to play throughout the day and reveal different facets, they used to last much longer and project much better, so that I don’t need to apply a dozen sprays (of e.g. Jubilation xvv) to at least get noticed (I’m not even talking about “filling the room”) a couple hours after application. I agree with the fact that most of us use frags to smell good, but do we want to get noticed as well? If we don’t - why using a fragrance so that only you can smell it up close to your skin, just shower and use deodorant? If we do - do we not want a fragrance to start an acceptable projection with just one spray and increase depending on one’s preferences? Or do they simply want us to exhaust the bottles sooner and be on a constant hunt for better scents by weakening the juice and introducing overpriced “extrait” versions which give us a hint of the good olden pre-reformulation days? And does Amouage have mass pleasing scents which fill the room currently? Not that I’m aware of. The only available TRUE room fillers are Silver Oud, Interlude 53, Royal Tobacco, which aren’t pleasers by any means, they are very niche scents which one wears for themselves and not to please anybody. However, thankfully there currently are mass pleasing room fillers on the market - Orto Parisi Bergamask for example (similar price territory), even x10 cheaper Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Intense easily outplays every Amouage’s mass pleaser. Out of mentioned magnetic cap room fillers, I can only agree with the following: - Silver Oud (new presentation didn’t ruin the scent thankfully, priced as extrait versions however) - Interlude 53 (they bumped the price, were suppose to bring back the old Interlude formulation, which they did but dang they reformulated 53 already as they changed the packaging (the flat one) and simplified the font on the bottle so 53 today is weaker than upon inception, still good performance though) - Royal Tobacco (no reformulation so far, good from the inception) - Beach Hut Woman (can’t call it “Woman” actually, leaning masculine to my nose) - Guidance - Epic Woman (only if we’re talking 56, regular one is far from being the room filler) I respectfully disagree with the rest of the mentions. Overture Man (black box, no Overture word on the front of the bottle below Amouage word) used to be good, however reasonably weaker than e.g. Royal Tobacco. As they changed the presentation (flat box) and weaken the scent, it became nowhere near the room filler definition. Overture Woman reasonably weaker than Overture Man. Imitation, Myths, Portrayal, Bracken are weaker than regular Interlude which one can’t call room filler since while ago. Interlude Black Iris and regular Interlude are even weaker than their clones (e.g. Lattafa Ethnic Oud and Afnan Supremacy Incense). How in the world can one explain why $20 clones smell so close and project/last better than the originals retailing at $360??? Why does Alexandria Fragrances Leather Intense ($70 for 100ml) lasts the whole week and projects the whole day like it’s the last day? While Amouage literally collapsed in quality? I’m guessing their philosophy is now quantity over quality. Jubilation xvv is such an amazing scent but lasts and projects worse than $20 Davidoff Zino which is in a similar genre (I’m comparing the current formulations). Now, I can’t disagree that Amouage quality is good (far from what it used to be but still). But who cares about the opening which lasts a few minutes? I don’t think people want to spray something to start smelling themselves up close. All I personally care about is the dry down when I’m running errands throughout the day, I want to make sure my scent is detectable 2+ feet around me for hours (not for minutes), I don’t need something that projects a few minutes and goes downhill quickly afterwards, which most current Amouages are, esp. rose-forward (Lyric, Woods Symphony, Rose Incense) and fresh/designer’esque ones (Reflection, Reflection 45, Honour, Search, Material, Crimson Rocks, Boundless, Meander, you name it). Out of Amouages I own 20 men bottles (100ml) and have access to ~10 women ones. My collection is at around 300 bottles total and my comparisons are fair. I own a few clones because they don’t cost anything and if they are smelling worse only the first minute up close and the dry down is almost identical, I can’t comprehend Amouage price/quality/performance policy. Same applies to Xerjoff, ridiculously overpriced house which ruined their cornerstone Alexandria II into oblivion and worsened every older release while upped the prices, while presentation is top notch as if we’re carrying their boxes and bottles and showing them off to strangers while walking down the streets.
My room filler definition examples are (based on the current formulations so if you're reading a few years from now this might not be true anymore): Orto Parisi Terroni Orto Parisi Megamare Orto Parisi Cuoium Orto Parisi Bergamask Amouage Silver Oud Alexandria Fragrances Leather Intense Montale Black Aoud Intense Mancera Aoud Exclusive Mancera Jardin Exclusive A lot of used-to-be-room-fillers aren't anymore. Good examples are Mancera Red Tobacco, Serge Lutens Chergui and a bunch of Amouages of course marching hand in hand with PDM, Creed, Xerjoff. It's the industry trend, it's getting harder to find worthy new bottles these days.
@@g3tr1ghttt Holy $h1t! I'm just now seeing this 7 months later. But, sure....I'll play: "Well, let’s agree with the fact that their first formulations are superior to all recent ones" Let's not. You seem to be forgetting that fragrance is subjective. Boundless, Enclave, Search, Rose Incense, Material, Woods Symphony, Guidance, Purpose, Overture, Crimson Rocks, literally ALL of their "recent" releases are absolute bangers. If you disagree, dine. The fact that all of those mentioned get a ton of positive comments kinda flies in the face of your sentiments, eh? But, no shade. Like I said, fragrance is subjective. "scents used to be richer, they used to play throughout the day and reveal different facets" Ah...So, in order for a fragrance to be good, they have to "play throughout the day"? That's hilarious. The fragrance merely has to smell good. (To ME!) It doesn't need to be a game of Whack-A-Mole. However, if that's YOUR metric, drive on. "they used to last much longer and project much better, so that I don’t need to apply a dozen sprays (of e.g. Jubilation xvv) to at least get noticed (I’m not even talking about “filling the room”) a couple hours after application." If you're seriously telling me that the newer Amouage offerings are 'un-noticeable', I have no words. Maybe people just aren't saying anything. Because I CERTAINLY get noticed. Maybe it's your personality. 🤷 "I agree with the fact that most of us use frags to smell good, but do we want to get noticed as well?" If I get noticed, great. That's simply a plus. If I don't, I'm not gonna cry. *I* know I smell good. Whether, or not anybody else notices, is completely academic. If you're wearing fragrances strictly to get noticed, and/or complimented, you're in for a bumpy (and disappointing) ride. "If we don’t - why using a fragrance so that only you can smell it up close to your skin, just shower and use deodorant?" What? Do you really believe that? Dude, there isn't a single Amouage offering, that is so close to the skin, that only the wearer can smell it. Not one. This is a riot! LOL! "If we do - do we not want a fragrance to start an acceptable projection with just one spray and increase depending on one’s preferences?" Sigh. Wow, man. Seriously, how long have you really been into fragrances? One spray? I mean, what is acceptable projection to you? "Or do they simply want us to exhaust the bottles sooner and be on a constant hunt for better scents by weakening the juice and introducing overpriced “extrait” versions which give us a hint of the good olden pre-reformulation days?" That literally makes no sense. Think about it. If Amouage is intentionally (Which is complete poppycock) weakening fragrances for the purpose of making people piss though them more quickly, wouldn't it stand to reason, that people would abandon the house? If you're "on the hunt for better scents", then haven't you already sworn off Amouage? (or whatever?) "And does Amouage have mass pleasing scents which fill the room currently?" What the hell is a mass pleasing scent? What about pleasing YOU? And why do you NEED to fill the room? Come on, man. That sounds insecure. 😞
My wife is not into fragrances. Mattafak, she couldn't care less about them. If you know me, then you already know that gender doesn't mean a damn thing, where fragrance is concerned. My mantra: "If it smells good, I'm spraying". Who it's marketed to, its color, its design, its shape....All bullshit. Only the fluid inside matters. 😁
What's up brother Merry Christmas. How many fragrances do you have in your collection. I am guessing at 500. I have 435 with my lady and it's only niche fragrances.
Crimson Rocks Sunshine woman Lyric woman Journey womam Overture woman Honor 43 🤍 the most beautiful, sublime and perfect white floral my number one in all my perfums not only in my Amouage
