You should come to Oulu for some great odr. In Oulu we have like 4 or 5 odr "centers" which have like 2 rinks each and open skating area. Zamboni runs the ice like every 2 hours and whe also have warmed locker rooms. Then we also dozens of smaller odr rinks all over the city. Long winters and these types of odr possibilities make a lot of great players like Sebastian Aho and Pekka Rinne :)
@@CoachJeremy If you come up to Thunder Bay, before you get on our ODR, you can sharpen your skates on our Sparx Pro since your video was the reason we bought it LOL. And seriously, the Pro is amazing.
I wish had some sort of place to play :( I don’t have a garage,basement, or flat area to play and no backyard as well as no net even if I found somewhere to play :’(
@@jopp6354 fair fair, maybe bandy is from East Anglia then. In any case I wish we'd get some odrs in England haha, I've seen some cool images of the Thames freezing as well but again that was well before our time
@@21cup theres been outdoor public rinks during winter sometimes made using the type of stuff you’d see in ana nhl winter classic game or something but on a much smaller scale and they usually arent built for hockey

The best outdoor ice is the one your skating on. Here in RI USA - it's not often and getting fewer. Black glass (rare) or frozen slushed over snow (common), cracks that swallow players, bumpy and rough, in the open sky day or night(helmet lights, glow stick outlined goals and LED puck) . It doesn't get any better.

I live in NJ. It doesn’t always get cold enough to have the ponds freeze, which are the only ODR spots we have in my town. We only have a few, so they get full of people. And it rarely ever gets cold enough. I would love to move up to Canada to be part of the hockey culture
Questions for the Canadians don’t you guys ever worry about the lake like dropping you into the frozen water when you skate on it or the lake Caracking
Outdoor hockey rinks are the best, but what's up with the nobody at any of the ri ks, there's not that much snow. I live in Montréal and people still play, they just shovel the snow or the city comes by every few hours to clear the rinks !!
Its so strange to me that there are good open air hockey rinks in Canada with no ice. Canada is one of the hockey est countries in the world and no ice... unimaginable.
Hey Jeremy I was wondering where the rinks were on the lake and I imagine it wouldn’t be too far because I think we live near each other I have seen you at shoot the puck and you would coach me with the other guy at the allindale center
This is sick, how do the rinks get ice? Is it like a government job to go and pour water? And for the lake how do you know the ice is safe? (I'm from southern Europe so no experience with ice lol)
