It’s a reference to a design made a while ago which was a reference made in itself to a trend post-war (?) a long long time ago where women would wear thin layers and drench their clothes and walk out to feel themselves. They called it the pneumonia trend because men went out and said women were DYING (???) because of said pneumonia? Is my comment vague? Yes I am terrible at remembering details, but Haute LeMode did a wonderful job talking about the references Doja made with her look in his met gala 2024 critique video
@@squigglyverm well, they were getting pneumonia and / or tuberculosis because they rocked their wet dressed in any weather or season. Like imagine doing this during autumn in northern regions

Yep. A lot of her ratings piss me off because she rates what she likes more than what is on theme for the event or how it fits the person. The person who chose and wore it clearly weren't thi king of what anyone would like personally so why make that a point of consideration when rating their clothing.

I tried to understand the theme and it was basically everything, garden of time but also subtheme was sea, sand and earth, the poem or story talked about crystal like flowers, then there was also an underlying theme of resurfacing old fashion looks. Like could they maybe decide a bit more narrow, or you know just leave the theme out completely and let ppl wear whatever. Because each time I ask myself, why this outfit, under such a broad collection of themes you can basically explain everything as fitting.
Doja cats outfit actually fits the theme. I don’t get why people are reviewing the MET gala with no regards to the theme of the event. Every celeb looks good. I don’t want that, they have the entire year to dress pretty. I want the dress to have intricate details that connect to the theme.
Doja cat was channeling the cotton flower she said, and that's why she wore a t-shirt dress.. it's a good concept actually, because cotton has stood the test of time in the fabric/fashion industry, no?
I feel like you are being super negative I think this year everyone looked good just because it’s not super crazy and off the wall doesn’t mean it’s not fashion or beautiful you don’t always have to look the look I wouldn’t say they played it safe some years you can get away with getting wild with the outfits..depending on the theme. Idk I love everyone’s style and dress ❤ everyone was versatile yet on point the ones you like the least I liked the most. Sometimes simple is extravagant.
First off with Gwendolyn that was not Halloween, it was giving what it was giving for the theme. Maybe the only thing that was making it more. Halloween costume was maybe her hair but I wouldn’t even knock it. I thought she looked absolutely amazing.❤️❤️
