@@gambit5667 they literally said they’re going “as a non-metal fan” but okay, and that was just a genuine question, i meant it with no hate no disrespect just curious!
If you do some research on Swans, you'll realize how absolutely vital they've been to the metal scene over the years. My Dying Bride, Napalm Death, Godflesh, and Neurosis all cite Swans as a major influence, and considering those four bands went on to popularize entire subgenres of metal, that's pretty huge. The term "grindcore" literally stems from a word Napalm Death made up to describe Swans' music. This is not me having a go at you, I'm just explaining the historical importance of this band and why more people should know them.
Yeah 100%, Swans are quite niche and theyre definitely not for everyone. Personally, I love the hell out of them and I just saw them live recently at San Antonio - unsurprisingly, they were incredible.
I can't even imagine preferring to listen to sleep token over swans. It hurts my head to try to fathom. Michael Gira takes no offense, but Joseph probably does 😏
@@turbotreehouse9780 yeah my first thought when I read "they were so loud they took away from sleep token" was f*** em lmao. No hate though, it's just I have no idea who sleep token is and it's not every day you get a band like Swans at a festival like this. It's like everything they're against even if they actually like some of the bands
Yea let’s gatekeep an entire genre because someone dOeSnT LiKe mY FaVoRitE BanD. Juvenile bro lol. Wouldn’t you want your favorite band to be successful by reaching newer audiences?
@@BryceJoel924 listen… im a poser at its finest, but if ur born with bitch ears… stick to that … im sure there would of 10/10 all around at Coachella … and im sure this dude was there for Sleep Token … tbh that was my go to as well… buttttttt im not on tik tok .. just enjoy music.. heavy music .. not even trying to be a gatecreeper 😮💨
I honestly could not be happier imaging Swans being so loud to the point where they overpowered sleep token, I got to see them live in DC and felt my soul transcend for 3 hours but it was indeed very loud. The first and only time i have heard sleep token I wanted to stab my ears but that's just me tho. Also Kristof Hahn is an amazing artist by himself, such a powerful voice and sound, very emotional performance and perfect accompaniment to Swans.
Diablo stage definitely had the craziest energy of the entire festival, but it was unfortunately tucked in the back away from the rest of the festival. Overall, the whole festival was amazing and everyone I saw gave amazing performances.
Swans is one of my favorite bands of all time. Most of the bands listed suck. Core and djent and modern “metal” is utter garbage. For metal, I’m more of a black metal, war metal, death metal, and industrial metal kind of guy.
