As another option, some of our favorites were Calico Critters! They are super cute, allow for lots of creativity, and avoid the body image issues that lots of these doll toys can foster. They were pricey, but we were the grateful recipients of hand-me-down critters! Maybe ebay or garage sales? We also loved Madeline dolls. They are Barbie-like, but don't look underweight, etc. Not sure if they have much diversity though, which is so important. And my daughter grew up LOVING your great music!! THANK YOU for your beautiful, worshipful, fun music!! :)

I agree the age is too low for those toys, maybe not the Barby, but then again, toddlers do better with larger dolls. Seems like the LOL toy is very influential. I don't care for the smaller pieces because of possible choking hazard... anything down a kid's throat could be hazardous. To much going on with the poly pocket for younger kids, I feel like that confetti and small pieces would be all over the house and you'd find pieces and confetti for days LOL. I sound so negative, but I'm really a positive person LOL. I had a daycare for years and I taught little ones from pre- K to 7th grade and that's where my comments cube from.
