Orkin rates Chicago as the U.S.'s rattiest city, and rats chewing through car wires and nesting under hoods are common problems. So what can you do? FULL STORY: bit.ly/49tXjid
@@kenW13ISLAM REFUGIÉS PUT MICE 🐁 AND RATS 🐀 at McDonald’s and they are bringing them into all European nations America, Australia, and Canada. They’re called Islam or. HAMAS , it was on a video.
You can manage cat population A LOT easier and rats do MUCH more damage as well.its not a close call at all...just have to have a functioning neighborhood that works together which is disappearing by the day along with local shops being traded out for walmarts and Amazon delivery smh...sad state of affairs we have let ourselves fall to with the comfort of laziness.....
@@kblongespee9225 They are surviving in Chicago somehow. Gets really cold here buddy. They have on fur coats lol. I think they know how to find little dugouts etc. some people have built small shelters outside their home as well. Look for a video for Feral cats and Lincoln Park Chicago.
I had the "same" problem in San Francisco, but not with my car wires. It was with my Comcast Cable wires underground. Rats kept going underground & eating my cable wires because they were coated with Soy. When the Comcast Cable guy came out to fix the problem, it freaked us both out, at how the rats had chewed up the wires.
If you are a chicago resident, please stop dumping whole bags of fast food scraps in the middle of neighborhood streets. Instead drop your trash in a trashcan in an alley. Lets get this under control before it's to late .*cough NYC
It's the a**hole rideshare drivers. If you LIVE there, you're not eating in the car (gross to start with!) Much less dumping cr*p all over! Watch the cameras, you'll see! Never trust anyone so disrespectful to others, which often drives worse than you do!
@@FallingStar1080 It is American dream they should be deported they are eating everything our rats are scared to go out they prefer our cats we need Trump
@FallingStar1080 it actually is. Rats feed off the unprocessed food thats still in the defacted feces. My neighbor has three dogs and shes disgusting. Low maintenance?..try NO maintenance. She never walked her dogs and allowed them to shit on her property which is right next to mine. The rats were feeding off the shit.... Are they the SOLE reason?..ofcourse not..humans are disgusting as it is..but thats why i aint a fan of them being responsible for cleaning up after their pet. They cant even clean up after their self. P s...when you "pick up" dog shit. Youre just picking up the big chunk. There is still shit on the ground..more then enough for rats to feed on. Unless youre pressure washing the cement every time you pick up shit...theres still shit
Nooo, let's review...rideshare dumps cr*p everywhere. You're not doing that if you LIVE there. Restaurants are disgusting to start with, watch that on a million TV shows. You didn't have this during the virus. So, there's your answer.
I'm in NY and rats chewed my car wires. The car dealership told me to buy mint spray made specifically for this cause. This was during the pandemic and I haven't had a problem since then.
The spray is very effective because all the smell of the spray from your through ac vents and when you turn on the ac the smell comes through the ac panels, mainly it causes lungs problem for childrens who are seated in cars, best solution for this is rat mesh installation, from front bumper to engine, and sides fully packed 👍👍👍👍
Drive your car regularly. Don't park in the same exact spot every day. Don't feed pets outside, or at least pick up the food bowl when they are done. Pop the hood from time to time and tidy up the debris. Get your neighbor's 7 year old a cat for her birthday.
This happened to me when my husband bought an old Mercedes out of Chicago. I only discovered there was a rat problem when some candy left in the pocket of the door was eaten through the bag.
i was sleeping and i woke up and there was a big wood rat in my bed by my face, i could not sleep in my bed for about a month. after my kids caught it,
When we went to Honda to check the latest Civic. It was only sitting in the display room for 2 days and 1 night. No nest but the rodent chewed several wires of the o2 sensor and some other wires with exposed insulation that goes under the engine.
Many Chicago residents keep a car only for occasional trips out of the city. So yeah, that car could’ve been sitting there for days or weeks without being driven.
@Danaman117 I seen them in red backwater Southern states too🤣 the ones where the Fentanyl and meth has taken over.. you just can't bring yourself to admit it🤣
I have that same problem in the parking lot of my old building in the Bronx. They chewed up the wires in my dad's car a couple of time. He now uses spray repellant after he parks his car.
Happened in our area in AZ because of the nearby fruit trees. They can get at the wiring from under the car. Expensive repair bill. Decreased after the trees were cut down. They were mice, not rats.
Lol lady, you can't compare mice in Az. to the rat infestation in Chicago. I hope you read your own post out loud and hear how ridiculous it is, Mice are everywhere in this world. If your house is infested, then that's on you
@@lovineveryminuetofit1314 i agree that people who have mice or rats in their homes, it’s their own fault for not keeping their homes clean. The residents will of course never admit to this nor will the media press them on it.
@@sean2015Not all the time go to New York City! You're probably thinking about mice these are rats! A whole different animal and a thousand times worse! A mouse might run from you sometimes but a huge rat will just look at you like what's up and what we are eating tonight!
@@antwandukes I don’t need to go to New York City - I live in Chicago, which is rated as the most rat-infested city in the USA (…and no I’m not talking about our crooked politicians). The building that I live in is 100 years old, but I’ve never had a rat or a cockroach in my apartment. Because I keep my living space obsessively clean. Rats are not AirBNB’ers. They’re not there looking for a place to crash rent-free. They’re attracted to one thing and one thing only, which is *food* . If you keep your place clean and don’t leave food lying around, guess what? You won’t have any rats.
I was utterly disgusted when the car service at the dealership showed me bones under my engine. I lived in Newark NJ at the time. Whole city seems infested
The entire country is disgustingly infested! City, burbs, farm & rural areas have rats/raccoons/opossums everywhere 😫 This needs to be addressed by congress! lbs
No we don't, Ive lived outside Chicago for 57 years and have seen none out here, I'm just outside OHare we don't ever see rats, only mice in the winter come around.
@@amehka5416that's bull. You'd see rats DAILY in Chicago and not ONE mouse in 50 frigging years I lived there. I didn't even know what mouse poo even looked like.
in the early 2000s i went with my cousin to pick up a 70s chevelle he bought from someone. were drivin it back and next thing u kno we start hearin squealin and cryin. he pulls over and theres a rat nest with like 10 babies in it under the passenger seat lmao.
I'm living in a apartment with a nasty ass rat, the rat done scratched up the carpets my couch, bit a hole in my vacuum that I can't use no more and it done shitted EVERYWHERE in the apartment except one room where I & my baby sleep in and I put something under the door so it won't come in .... RAT CAME FROM NEXT DOOR came threw a hole that was by my slide door living room and its been living in the kitchen under the sink, behind my washer and the landlord do NOTHING about it but worried about me paying him rent and charging me late fees for this shit hole I'm living in...IM SICK OF IT AND READY TO FKN MOVE
Dont say our neighborhoods its the Concentration of restaurants in a small area the wealth of the city should be for all neighborhoods but since folks wanted to be selfish so the money only flows to certain neighborhoods enjoy the rats and spending the surplus money on repairs and keep in mind as this builds up your homes will be next
Man listen i moved to jersey & had 3 big rats under my hood and they had babies & chewed up my wiring. Never had this happened when i was living back home in NY
I had a mouse problem. Using a remote motion sensor switch connected to a wet vac, an invitation tube with tasty treats and the motion sensor was irresistible and escape proof. Something similar that could grind them into the sewer might be a good solution for lots of locations managed by the city. All-you-can-eat poisons are not necessarily the trick, those sticky board traps are highly effective. Investing in sticky traps to put under the hood and wherever you see them crawling in and out is more effective than snap traps and the electronic ones don't work at all even though the green light says it's working, 2 years It has stopped nothing, the electronic zapper trap. Sticky traps for cars and motion detector wet vacuum for the house or wherever their pathways are. They become tolerant of all-you-can-eat poison treats.
I believe there's more feral cats than rats in Chicago. Especially down here in the Southwest side. Stray cats here form gangs and they cross at stop signs. Sounds like a joke, but I'm not joking..
Btw crime isn't bad. Violent crime is down double digits. For a big city with millions of people and hundreds of neighborhoods, its safe. Beautiful asl too. Can't beat that turquoise blue Lakefront 😍 80% of the worlds fresh water at my front door step 🙂
@hyemuhyemu8221 You just happen to live in a small area with hardly any brown people. Crime is bad. My coworkers have to take different routes to work now, to avoid being shot at or car jacked
Are you laughing just as much/even more about Detroit, Baltimore, Memphis, Newark, New Orleans, St. Louis, East St. Louis, Cleveland, K.C., D.C., Philadelphia, Little Rock, Milwaukee, Oakland, Gary, Mobile, Jackson, Camden, Birmingham, Flint, Louisville, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Buffalo, etc.? 🤔🤔 I've lived in Chicago for the last 33.5 awesome years. What are your credentials? Do you live in a rural area, or a N.I.M.B.Y. suburb? What state do you live in?
@@thetrainwreck1469nope , the can’t stand the smell of peppermint or eucalyptus oil. Tea tree oil is toxic to them. I haven’t seen one since 2020 and I live in Chicago. Only outside I may see them in the alley. They also don’t like the silver cotton that destroys their teeth when they chew on it. You can fill in any open holes with that around the house. Once they chew, it messes up their teeth and if they don’t have any teeth, they cannot eat and die of starvation
@@thetrainwreck1469no it does a long with eucalyptus oil...I saw an unwanted visitor in my 🏠 last month I invested in Peppermint & Eucalyptus Oil...both $13 each
That is ridiculous! If they really wanna get rid of them they should get cats to do so and they said there concern their Health issues?? Wat?? Well keep them updated on their vaccines and stop immediately of putting traps with poison outside and alleys etc so they would be ok our feline friends.
Well those immigrants will find their job quickly what's the federal minimum wage? Yikes all these immigrants are going to get the good ole American treatment
Rats gone wild: Chicago rodents damage cars, build nests under hoods 0528am 11.11.23 warm and safe... that's a car. maybe she stop eating in her car? then sticking on a cassette of red hot chilli peppers? wow... i would have stuck on ben by mike jackson.

It shows exactly what I've been saying about people from Chicago can't drive. It's obvious you never check.uour engine oil, wster, or put windshield washer fluid in your car.
It happens overnight - the same way it happens in a barn animal manure pile - they create a nest pretty quick. Umm unfortunately kittens will also climb in there for warmth - do you check every morning for kittens?
