Growing up I was always more of a Metallica/Iron Maiden/Megadeth guy. But I have grown to appreciate 80's Glam metal over the years. This song is dope!
Same here. It is because music is at a bad state these days. There is nothing worth listening of current bands and artists. This was the hay day. We have to keep it alive and cherish it.
Fellow thrasher here. Thrash is awesome, but hair metal is awesome for what it is: music to just kick back and chill to while showing off some serious musicianship. Not to mention the glam bands also delved into darker shit like Poison's "Fallen Angel" as an example.
i never liked metallica only because of my brothers used to listen to them, and i hate metallica even more because of how MAINSTREAM they are check out Metallica and miley cyrus lmao
They smoke all hair metal bands. Better songs, lyrics, and their playing is better than the rest. Most hair bands were all flash and no substance or they had a few hits then disappeared. I have no clue who they pissed off but they should be bigger than Motley and Poison. Ratt, Def Leppard, & VH were the best overall rock bands of this era.
I'm an 80s child..I lived in California and the drummer lived up the street from me..he use to practice with his garage door opened and it was loud these guys rock
oh ya drive in movies concerts with 70.000 fans, football games, in my city bars are open till 4am, only bummer live near lake erie our winters suck we get 200 inches a year, kids get lots of days off cause of snow if u live near the lake its like a blizzard, ok i live in buffalo,ny i still like my bills even though we lost 4 superbowls, that blizzard of 1977 gave our city a bad rap, it was bad 1000 of people were stuck downtown for days, schools were closed for 3 weeks
I remember that blizzard(aging myself, lol). I live near the lake myself. We were stuck in the house for days(here on the Canadian side of the border). We got hit bad, but you guys in Buffalo had it worse, that's for sure. You guys get hit from Lake Erie every winter. Wasn't it a couple years ago you got like 5-6 feet of snow in one day? Crazy!
I feel the same and I've been a Bills fan all my life and I ain't so young either I always dreamed of going to a game there but havn't ever been to a pro game
Out on the streets, that's where we'll meet You make the night, I always cross the line Tightened our belts, abused ourselves Get in our way, we'll put you on your shelf Another day, some other way We're gonna go, but then we'll see you again I've had enough, we've had enough Cold in vain, she said I knew right from the beginning That you would end up winning I knew right from the start You'd put an arrow through my heart Round and round With love we'll find a way, just give it time Round and round What comes around goes around I'll tell you why Dig Lookin' at you, lookin' at me The way you move, you know it's easy to see The neon light's on me tonight I've got a way, we're gonna prove it tonight Like Romeo to Juliet Time and time, I'm gonna make you mine I've had enough, we've had enough It's all the same, she said I knew right from the beginning That you would end up winning I knew right from the start You'd put an arrow through my heart Round and round With love we'll find a way, just give it time Round and round What comes around goes around I'll tell you why Yeah Out on the streets, that's where we'll meet You make the night, I always cross the line Tightened our belts, abused ourselves Get in our way, we'll put you on your shelf Round and round With love we'll find a way, just give it time Round and round What comes around goes around I'll tell you why Round and round With love we'll find a way, just give it time Round and round What comes around goes around I'll tell you why, why, why, why Round and round
Ephesians 6:12 King James Version 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
@@angham3829 funktion 1:1 god had nothing to do with solid guitar tones. also, i had to erase hella quotes out of my king james edition just so my young children could read it. dont worry tho, i left the good ones in.
1984 was also the year of the rat when this song was being played constantly on the radio. Saw them at an outdoor general admission show at Niagara on the river. "Mama's Boy's " opened the show. Twisted Sister was supposed to headline but they were a no show. Ratt kicked ass though. RIP Robin Crosby
Ok, Ratt is playing in the attic and real life rodents are served for the main coarse. A crossed dressed Milton Berle is at dinner having a hard time with the music so loud.Top it off with the guitarist falling through the attic floor, onto the dining room table, and a high society girl transformed into a new wave Molly Cyrus groupie. This must be the 80's I wished never ended! MTV and good music, you will be missed but not forgotten!!!
thaddeus mcgrath This is "cock-rock" but daaamn I miss it so much. :) You won't find rock\HM that just want to have fun with it's songs while you are drinking booze. It's just "rage, rage, rage" now. :/ I really miss the 80s sound, even when it comes to "cock-rock" xD I am huge fan of 80s thrash metal, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy hair metal as well. Sometimes you just wanna have good time and not give a fuck. ;)
njmfff Its the music for people with mullets who like to hang out in the 7-11 parking lot sitting on the hood of their trans am while downing a six pack of pbr :D
My best friend introduced me to Dokken when I was 15. Loved them ever since. I just turned 50 and every time I hear them I think of the old days. RIP Santana. Miss you brother!
Same. I lived through that time but honestly never heard this song before the Geico ad. Apparently it was a big hit but I guess Hair Metal just wasn't on my radar.
When MTV was almost cool. We were rocking. The guitar solos. The thumping metal beats. Long hair was still in. Leather, chains, chrome, hot rods. Car stereos with cassette tapes. A World Of Fantasy.
MTV in starting in the early 80's was our main evening viewing after school and/or work. Morphed into crap...I guess as everything became more accessible on the "world wide webb". Yeah, the old dial up sounds.
In the Geico Commercial, the owners of the house said that 'They had a 'RATT' problem'. If they had a 'RATT' proble, then they should use Poison on them, then they'd have Nothin' But a Good Time.
I'd be honored if some fans of classic 80s rock anthems would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of EYE OF THE TIGER by Survivor and IS THIS LOVE by Whitesnake on my YT channel in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks & keep on rocking.
I was learning to play guitar in the early 80s and that move pointing upstairs was a huge huge deal to us so yes I’m talking about it. Me and my buddies all guitar players thought it was the greatest freaking thing ever. Back in 83 and 84 I raced home every day from school to practice guitar do my homework and watch this shit on TV it was amazing times I weep for those who did not get to experience it
When Warren throws it off to Robbin in the attic with that point up and Robbin makes that face when taking the solo, it's SO fucking COOL! There really is NO other word!
When Warren DeMartini comes crashing through the ceiling at 2:25, that is the single greatest moment in the history of mankind. At least, that's what I thought when I was 12.
David Moadel same thing happened to me bro!..i was just 13 and that moment to me was so cool that it mad me want to play guitar....I'm 46 now and have been playing guitar for 30 years!!!!..all thanks to Warren!!
I know it'll probably never happen, but I'd love to have fun hard rock/metal like this be popular again. Even way back in 1999 when I discovered Ratt, nobody else seemed to like music like this.
When I was around age 11 or 12 they were playing in the garage down the street from me in a upper middle class area. I walked home from elementary school one day and one of them offered me 5 bucks to stand outside the garage and look out for the police it was noise pollution back then LOL.. I heard them bought my first rock n roll cassette yes I'm that old LOL... and the rest is my rock n roll story and I have no regrets ...
I was maybe 10 or so, and dealing with a pretty awful diagnosis. It was the early 80's and "Love will find a way just give it time" meant the world to me. Today I wish that love back to Stephen Pearcy. May love find a way for you now!
MrCzechers I just love how the classical & peaceful music family are having dinner listening too classical & peaceful music for dinner with friends of theirs, then out of no where they hear the band "Ratt" playing. The reason they heard Ratt, the butler of the classical music family, he was actually Ratts butler.
MrCzechers Also I love about this video is that the daughter of the family See's the band before they start playing, then she looks at the butler Jeffrey by asking him "is that them Jeffrey?? can I trust you too?? Then the butler shake his head "yes". as the song is playing she's trying too adapt too the music, Jeffrey keeps on telling her by shaking his head "yes, just trust me" then as she's next too them dancing she's like "hell yeah 👍👍!! thank you Jeffrey"
Indeed his nephew Marshall was their manager. Personally, for a long time I always thought the reason he was featured in the video because he was the Uncle of one of the band members. It was a long time ago, but I may have misheard the Nite Track announcer mentioning that Milton being related to one of the band members, assuming it was one of the musicians.
The Eighties was known for heavy metal. Ratt in the summer of 1984 recorded one of the best HM song and videos of all-time. It celebrates its 40th year anniversary this summer of 2024.
Even back in the day this song stood out as one of the best hair-metal anthems, and it is one of the classics of that era now. So damn catchy, still rocks in 2020.
I don't care what any of yall say I will continue to turn this glam metal etc... Up every time I'm in the vehicle or at home... Love my 80's hair bands!!!!! ❤️️
Shit if ratt is a problem I'll leave my door open and let em come in to jamm out all day. Badass guitar solo on this song always air guitar when I hear it!!!!!! 🤘
I love Glam heavy metal. It seemed like such a fun time. I wish I could go back in time and actually be in a rock n roll band as lead guitarist. It sucks that the LA rock scene has died😔
Yeah 👍 listening to this while playing Mario Bros waiting for Mom to tell me night court was on, and wash my hair before bed and nobody made fun of my mallet and my girlfriend was wearing those Madonna gloves 💯
Lyrics: Out on the streets, that's where we'll meet You make the night, I always cross the line Tightened our belts, abuse ourselves Get in our way, we'll put you on your shelf Another day, some other way We're gonna go, but then we'll see you again I've had enough, we've had enough Cold in vain, she said I knew right from the beginning That you would end up winnin' I knew right from the start You'd put an arrow through my heart Round and round With love we'll find a way just give it time Round and round What comes around goes around I'll tell you why Dig Lookin' at you, lookin' at me The way you move, you know it's easy to see The neon light's on me tonight I've got a way, we're gonna prove it tonight Like Romeo to Juliet Time and time, I'm gonna make you mine I've had enough, we've had enough It's all the same, she said I knew right from the beginning That you would end up winnin' I knew right from the start You'd put an arrow through my heart Round and round With love we'll find a way just give it time Round and round What comes around goes around I'll tell you why Yeah Out on the streets, that's where we'll meet You make the night, I always cross the line Tightened our belts, abuse ourselves Get in our way, we'll put you on your shelf Round and round With love we'll find a way just give it time Round and round What comes around goes around I'll tell you why Round and round With love we'll find a way just give it time, time, time, time Round and round What comes around goes around I'll tell you why, why, why, why Round and round
If GEICO sent you here ???Then you've been deprived of good music.....the 80's metal scene was the best by far......bands actually played the instruments....Welcome to Rock 'n Roll at it's best!!!!
I bought the cassette tape "Out Of The Cellar" in 1984 when it came out, my 3 buddies and I were 14 so we rode our bikes to Warehouse Records store and got it. I think we also bought a few 45's of 80's pop music that was out then....the 80's wes the best for music :-)
I remember in middle school I would get up early before school and watch that metal show, and totally 80s, and I remember seeing this music video and totally falling in love with the girl in the tiara. Good memories 👍
I found RATT while flippin through the pages of an old hustler mag when I was a young lad, lead singer was was interviewed. Dude went through some sh%t. Where did all the good musicians go....
Hair metal reached its commercial peak in the late 80s, but for me the greatest year of the genre was 1984, and Ratt's "Out of the Cellar" was a big reason for that... I'd be honored if some fans of 80s rock anthems would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal RU-vid performances of EYE OF THE TIGER by Survivor, SISTER CHRISTIAN by Night Ranger, and IS THIS LOVE by Whitesnake in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Live acoustic with no autotune. Stay safe and keep on rocking in the '020s. Show less

A great song Roud n Round, Ratt one of the emblematic bands of Glam Rock, responsible for the tone of heavy metal of the 80's, I always listen to it.....
