RATTLE CAN REBUILD! - How to make your crusty engine look brand new on a budget! - HG Build - Part 6 

This takes me back to when I was 11 years old with my old man. He & I went to our local wreckers as he wanted me to build an engine. I thought he was going to buy an A series Mini engine for me to do as my grandfather owned a Mini Van at the time. Stuck in the corner was a 202 red engine that looked as though it hadn't seen daylight for a while. When dad asked how much, the wreckers said that he could take it as they had plenty of them about (which they did). Got it home & stripped it all the way back. Gave it a good clean & we had to buy a few bits & pieces. Surprisingly, the engine was pretty good inside. After all that, it was put back together & it got a good going over with rattle can Holden Red. Dad hooked up the engine like you guys did & it ran like a dream. We sold the engine & made good money for it (at that time). Best thing a father & son could do together! It also gave me my love for Holdens. Both Dad & I were more afraid of mum when we put our grimey oily clothes in the wash basket! Great video as always guys, thanks for bringing back the memories of an 11 year old kid who started his love for cars & bikes!

Good to have you gents back ! I was looking forward to seeing the old girl run again. I had it on an engine frame that i used to fire it up on every now and then but the time between start ups got further and further apart haha

Welcome back. New points, condensor and rotor button and the little six should fire. But your right, that carby could be gummed or blocked up with old fuel. Little bit of cleaning and it will go.
