@@daphsmith1248 I agree, but that's because Lewis can get nasty when he's not winning on radio. But I just want to say: While I agree that Lando was rude, I thought that Carlos was still being polite. He was in a highly focused situation and you have to remember that english isn't his first language. Consider that and it's easy to understand why his choice of words were pretty straightfoward, but his tone of voice meant no offence.
@Dre I don’t disagree with that at all :) I was more saying that the other 2 were under more pressure at the time compared to Danny. So it’s not that they were “rude” really. But yeah, Danny is chill.
@grooty there is basically an unspoken rule that engineers should not talk to the drivers during overtakes, and thats what the mclaren engineers did, I can understand why Carlos and Lando were short with them. But I do agree that Lando was quite rude, I’m sure he apologised later.
They are both great personalities but on each end of the "social skills spectrum"... Kimi's style is getting a bit boring in my book tho, it was fun in the beginning but...
True, but the McLaren boys could be getting a lot more chatter in their ears for all we know. They were under pressure and these races can become very dangerous if they get distracted. Being a little irritable is quite understandable.
Norris had to switch to default 03 after EVERY corner. Do you know what that means? I cannot believe they actually asked this from him, it’s multitasking on another level.
Yeah but difference is he was infront and had a big gap infront and behind him whereas lando and carlos were both either overtaking or trying not to be overtaken when they were talking
That was such a poor thing to say by Alex. He expected the sister team to simply make way for him. I hope he still owns up to his drawbacks and revives himself in the remainder of the season, while he still can.
Man deserves it! Racing Point keeps contacting him at the last minute but Hulk still delivers! He didn't even get the chance to run for practice this time around!
Raising up off the couch on Saturday and then driving in an F1 race AND scoring points each time he drove? He deserves it. Williams still 0. If fact Sunday his finish pushed Racing Point from 4th up to 3rd in the Constructor’s Cup....that is a difference of $15 million.
Even though Hulk and Ric was the most highlighted drivers of the day, Grosjean should be getting some honourable mention as well with that injured finger to secure well much deserved points.
Excluding hulkenberg, Grosjean was my driver of the day, beat all the back markers plus sebastian and with a little bit of fortune he got in the points and with a dodgy finger as well and I'm really impressed with Haas they have been probably had the best strategies this season along with alpha tauri
Whenever I hear Daniel talk during difficult situations, his wording is always very careful and positive - Like I remember a few races back he was informed of getting a penalty and he answers with "Okay I'll drive faster then," and that's just neat. It's really something.
I am quite sure he wouldn't have said this about a year ago when he started for RB in Spa. It's just he has reached a level of frustration where nothing seems to be working for him, and he is ending up doing petty mistakes.
@@theimposter2210 but what does bad luck for McLaren 15 years ago have to do with current line-up mood ? The guy was just saying both Norris and Sainz looked more frustrated than usual
@@jazmihamizan4987 yes, indeed. Although I would’ve loved Perez-Vettel lineup, and could have been the strongest of the grid. I also think that the lineup of Perez-Hulk, is one of the more consistent, stronger and more complete on both sides line up. I hope Perez gets the seat at redbull... although people linked him with Haas... I would only like that option if Haas goes for Perez and Hulk... they could possibly get Haas in the fight for P4, as in 2018 Haas was fighting.
Seeing everyone cheering for Danny’s podium finish just warms my soul. He’s honestly the friendliest guy in the whole grid and everyone treats him as part of their team even though he’s a Renault.
Did anyone else notice Hulk's head being violently thrown around when riding onboard? He was having to rest his neck a lot even through the medium speed corners. Just shows you how Formula 1 drivers can't become stagnant... they have to constantly train
its not that hes not training its just hes not been driving f1 cars, training can only help so much, its like any other sport the best practice is the match/race
Yea, but also I think it is because he was in a seat built for Lance and not him so things are made difficult. He also had no time to get used to the seat or the car
Albon: Breaks 50 meters later and locks up, nearly crashes into Gasly but gasly give him enough room so there is no incident. Albon too: "TheY rAcE me sO hArD"
Actually there’s was an incident the FIA gave him a time 10 Second time penalty for causing a collision but it didn’t really matter because he retired pretty much at the dime time.
from that spin i think it's not as clear as his other spin i mean from just doing the trick he did to valterri 2 years ago from now he just lost rear suddenly without doing to much to the car
i just think he really needs a stable rear-end to drive fast, hence why he was quick in V8 era but flopped in 2014 as it has a lot more torque on the rear, having no downforce on the rear doesn't really help him either.
Honestly i expected verstappens pace to be much more faster in the race because it is related to the qualifying delta time in which he was with in hundreds of hamiltons and in the race he was 10 second behind
@@natnaelkassahun2945 well the gap in qualifying was what? like 0.2 sec? add 1.5 seconds of "clean air" they need + 60 times that 0.2 sec deficit and you have quite a gap. The safety car bunched them up as well. Mercedes was simply quicker. Even if Red Bull was slightly faster, you need a certain overspeed to actually overtake as well.
I lost a little bit of respect for Albon for "They race me so hard". Yes, it is difficult to drive for Red Bull next to Verstappen who is one of the best drivers. And yes, he has a lot of pressure, but he cannot expect that the Alpha Tauri let him pass. This might have been a case a few years ago where Toro Rosso was at the back of the field and was comfortable in front of Backmarkers and miles away form the midfield in regards to points, but they are right in the Midfield Battle this season.
Dido. Before Nurburing i genuinely felt for him, but he's just not in the right headspace. Even Ocon is doing better than him against Riccardo and ocon was out a whole season. I hope he can find his head space. But then again Redbull is ownes by Thai family so idk if Helmut can get rid of him as easily as he did other drivers.
Albon just inserts himself into the backmarkers every race it seems like. Either he scres up his tires, goes off track, touches another car, or starts to fall behind and they bring him in early, but the fact that he is CONSTANTLY racing midfield cars and backmarkers just doesn't make any sense while Verstappen is comfortably out in second with literally no one near him.
he wouldnt have scored alot or any points with a penalty and flat spot, so they probably want to save and spare parts

@@etherealmeme9428 Exactly, they just pulled him in because they knew that he wasn't going to score any points that race. And why ruin the car even more when they can just retire?
It was just the car and weather conditions, Norris was in better shape then Sainz. He was unlucky both in Russian grand prix and in this too. Better luck next time for him.
I think they are already setting up the car for next year to work better with Merc Engine. I think they aren't aiming for p3 in the constructors anymore and just updating the car as much as they can this season so that the Merc engine can fit better.
carlos wasnt happy with the new aero parts on his car because landos car (that still had the old parts) was driving much better all weekend and lando was mad bc his engine wasn't working anymore. not a great weekend for them sadly
Yes Daniel, that is a podium, but believe it or not, exactly 11 months from that first podium with Renault, you will be delivering the first win for McLaren in 9 years. Absolute legend
@Barcelona golden state Gasly has redeemed himself greatly. but I think its only best for him to stay in AT as number 1 for now[a top team will get him soon]. Checo deserves a RB seat.
I love how nobody wanted Nico when he was cut by Renault, yet every time somebody needs an interim driver, he is the one everybody wants. He is a better driver than many currently in Formula 1.
"They race me so hard" Albon mate, you're in F1. If you can't race, leave E: And even if he's referring to the sister team, he shouldn't just be let through for that, he's slower than they are. I think that interpretation is worse, actually, it means AT shouldn't be allowed to compete because in his mind they're *below* him. That's not what F1 should be
The commentators pointed out that he's referring to the sister team specifically so not as bad but still you can't expect them to just let you through easy lol
He did not deserve it maybe, but it was certainly the best choice. Gasly definitely struggles with the huge pressure he was under at RedBull. Same with Albon this year. Gasly really found his confidence back with Alpha Tauri, I dont think he would race the same with the pressure of keeping up with Verstappen.
I really like him but even I have to say it would be better for him to get demoted to alphatauri. his confidence is completely down, he's getting frustrated, makes rookie mistakes and says things like that on the radio. it'd clear he can't deal with the rb pressure just like pierre last year. they need to get checo in that rb seat
@@orio_3 well, the personality (ie how you are and behave) has got a lot to do how you perform, right? He needs to step it up and mature to stay in RB (or F1 racing). That's my opinion anyway, the mental bit - how you see yourself and others - are very important. His personality, how he is, stops him from getting confidence IMO.
Agreed. People forget that he is a talented driver, but its easy to just remember the mistakes and the frustration because of the poor car he has to drive.
it's probably only gonna get worse as the season progresses. the more frustrated he gets, the more mistakes he's gonna make. getting demoted to alphatauri is the better option for him at this point. just look at gasly, he's driving better than ever and regained a huge amount of confidence
@@christinal.7958 this is also due to RB being very max centric. Albon said his car is designed to work for max, and he has to deal with it. He said the car is eratic, which works for max, but for a less aggressive driver its hard to make it work
Christina L. True. As much I would love to see Albon continuing in Red Bull, they will only destroy his career. Hopefully he gets some more support and doesn’t get treated like Gasly, with being humiliated only because of the high pressure. Albon has proven himself to be an aggressive and decent driver. I hope he can stabilize himself and avoid all of those mistakes. Imo Tsunoda will join Alpha Tauri and when Albon doesn’t recover, it will become fatally
@@dannywhite132 true, I think not many drivers could make that car work, because max has such a unique driving style. it's probably also knocking down his confidence even more, seeing max get the absolute maximum out of the car while he just can't manage to make it work
@@v4le69 I think (and hope) that they keep tsunoda in f2 for another year, because I think alex deserves another chance and I believe it is unlikely that he's gonna improve in the rb and no other team would take him after the season he's had, especially when drivers like checo and hulkenberg are available
It's crazy to hear the drivers after the race they have so much respect from me because they know the opportunities they have were given to them and they take everyone for helping them achieve the results they got
I think that Albon could benefit a lot from a sport psychologist. I first noticed it after his promotion to Red Bull. Obviously there's going to be a lot of pressure and expectation from a move like that, but I have never heard him happy about any performance he's given, and not just in the modest way a lot of drivers will talk about their achievements. He's spoken at length about how his mistakes constantly haunt him and get into his head, and he's so unbelievably self critical that he struggles to find any positives from his performance. He's got the talent, but he needs a better support network.
@@desanta7397 I didnt mentiom alpha Romeo....and im guessing you're new to the sport if you don't know that in the past even fighting for possitiom TR let's RB past because they're in faster cars and so there's mot point holding them up.
I genuinely feel bad for him. To dominate F2 in his rookie season and win so many junior championships in his 1st try, only to end up driving a tin can.
Seriously impressed with GR, watching full lap onboards in qualifying, as they've shown a few times, he is so smooth, never fights the car but places it perfectly. Shame the Williams is so lacking. George does not have a chance to show his class against the competition. I hope this changes for him one day.
