I love Franco's line as their about to leave New York, "The first rule of Italian driving- what is behind me is of no importance!"' as he rips off the rear view mirror.
Now THIS was a movie that deserved a sequel! I was hoping to see in this clip the hysterical finish of how Franco lost the race, but still, thank you for this post! Such an underrated and very funny movie full of great actors who seemed to have fun with it. And the cars weren't bad either! The very first film that I watched from home on a rising new cable channel called Home Box Office. If anyone is able to post the whole movie, we Gumball Rally fans would love you lots!
My first exposure to this movie, crazy enough, was as the "warm-up act" on a reissue of ENTER THE DRAGON! Is that wild double-bill, or what? For decades I put up with a "fullscreen" copy I recorded off HBO. But then the other year I got it on widescreen Blu-Ray, and was shocked to be reminded just how much of the picture I'd been missing all those years. I often think the coolest characters in the film are the ones by played by Raul Julia-- and Vaughn Taylor. (He's a dead-ringer for my ex-boss from the 80s.)
I wish to hell it had the scene where he is running the little car all over the woman's naked side and making all the vrrrroommm vrrroooommm sounds! Seems incomplete without that. But I ADORE ANYTHING Franco!!!
And Colleen Camp as the Mercedes driving 'date' with bbbbbbbreasts like ripe melons! A very pretty woman (also was the maid Yvette in 'Clue') with a bodacious body.
