I've heard Volver Volver Volver performed by various artists over the years and have not really enjoyed it. This is the first time I actually listened to the whole entire song without changing the station, channel or skipping to the next song. Bravo Raul!!!
@@krisfanful It's possible. But that doesn't mean nobody else is allowed to sing it. Do you have anything good to say about the Mavericks with Flaco Jimenez? No? I didn't think so.
I love the Mavericks and now to see Raul and Flaco performing together I love it even though I didn't understand a word until I scrolled down in the comments and saw it in English thanks for translating this Aussie understood then what Raul was singing about ❤⚘
WOW!! LOVE IT LOVE IT, REMINDS SO MANY MOONS AGO GREAT OLDIE TO DANCE AWAY ALL THE TIME Y VOLVER VOLVER VOLVER A TUS BRAZOS OTRA VEZ, LLEGARE HASTA DONDE ESTES, YO SER PERDE, MY BEAT, LOVE IT LOVE IT
Looks as though I will have to brush up on my Spanish so's I can appreciate the beauty of this piece. Bravo Raul Malo, excellent. Thanks for posting this beautiful music.
The Mavericks are a fabulous band and Raul is an extremely talented singer with magical pipes, but whatever you do, don't use him to brush up on your Spanish! His pronunciation sometimes sucks, and badly. Although his parents are Cuban, I reckon they must have decided to speak English at home when the kids were growing up, because he mispronounces his Spanish (more like "Spanglish") in this from either a Castilian or Latin American viewpoint. Here he sings " "Volver" instead of (phonetically "Bolber" and the "j" in "dejamos" is unaspirated ( it should sound like your gathering phlegm before spitting it out!) He mangles lots of other words, and singers also have to take liberties with words for musical reasons, It's fun and usually productive to Google the lyrics, translate what you're not sure of , and then as sing it with feeling- you never forget a word that way. That's what I do. My spanish is better than his, but my singing is a million miles away from his, and sadly, not in a good way!
I have learned over these many years that life is full of ups and downs, so I guess that I have learned another of its valuable lessons. These past several years I became aware and interested in how closely songs that pieces that have became popular in one language measure up when they are translated and performed in a different language. An example is an old French piece, I believe the title roughly translates in to English as "IF YOU GO AWAY" and performed by a Mr. Brell, Sorry about the spelling but I have had little training with languages other than my native tongue and I ask forgiveness for any errors I may have made in me attempt to communicate. Anyway an American Poet, Rod Mc euwinn, again I ask forgiveness for errors, wrote verse to the tune meter and melody of the original French song. I had believed these many years the two songs were accurate translations in meaning feeling and evoked the same human feeling as each would individually. Problems with the use of the Spanish language as pointed out by others at this site made me realize that those untrained in other languages though well meaning lack the necessary depth of understanding to make rational decisions. Different people making similar sounds sounds are just that. Meaning comes from the precise understand of the understood noise. I think I have answered my own question. And questioned my own answer. Could this be what life and all that is after is all about? ? ?
These are my firends, Raul Malo and Flaco Jimenez! Love it! The horn section as well. Volver ,Volver is one of my favorite songs when Flaco sings with Nunie Rubio as a duet. He puts as much feelings to it as to his accordion! Love you guys! Thanks,Mr. Millet for sharing this great video!! (Flaco's former Manager ,friend for many years! ) Amie Victoria Castillo
Este amor apasionado, This old love, it keeps on burning anda todo alborotado, keeps me longing, keeps me yearning por volver. to come back Voy camino a la locura Only one thing left to live for, y aunque todo me tortura, All I have, I'd gladly give for se querer. what I lack. Nos dejamos hace tiempo Time has passed, I'm still stuck right where pero me llego el momento All my days are still like nights, they're - de perder. just as black Tu tenías mucha razon, Yes, you've made yourself clear l’hago caso’al corazón But my heart it will not hear y me muero All it wants is por volver. to come back. Y volver, volver, volver To come back, come back, come back a tus brazos otra vez, Any thing you want from me llegaré hasta donde estés I will give it, you will see yo se perder,yo se perder, You will see, I’ll learn the knack, quiero volver, volver, volver If you’ll only say, “Come back.”
