I appreciate your videos, brother. This was the first year I discovered your channel. Keep up the good work. Here's my list: 1. Helloween 2. Antediluvian 3. Auld Ridge (First one) 4. Pharaoh 5. Herzel 6. Clandestine Blaze 7. Stargazer 8. Beverast 9. Mystic Storm 10. Graveland Kiitos!
I do exactly as you suggested in the opening, in that I'm looking for albums that I missed, & will be checking out a few of your picks. No complaints from me as to your top pick. CC knocked it out of the park with that one. 'Kill Grid' is also fantastic, & anyone who loves PowerTrip will probably instantly enjoy what Enforced have to offer.
I've been waiting for that album a few momths. The band members and their promotion person reached out to me about it and the label was supposed to send me a copy, but so far nothing.
Hi Jerry, autumn is the busy season at my job, but I've been catching up on releases these last few weeks, and watching more of your videos that I missed when they were new. I put together my top list, for a forum I'm on, but I'll post it here for you and your viewers to perhaps get some ideas. The December-released Coraxul and Sacrificium Carmen are particularly recommended (same guitar player on both, he also released his second Riivaus solo album this year). I didn't enjoy Valdaudr as much as you did, but I think we agree on Sielunvihollinen (I think the drumming really helps make their sound). This is basically all Black or Pagan, fwiw. Happy New Year! 1. Djevel - Tanker som rir natten 2. Thyrfing - Vanagandr 3. Délétère/Sarkrista - Opus Blasphematum 4. Sielunvihollinen - Teloituskäsky 5. Coraxul - Vihavirsiä aamunkoin 6. Ifernach - Capitulation of All Life 7. Kjeld - Ôfstân 8. Olio Tähtien Takana - Spectral Katharsis 9. Sarkrista - Sworn to Profound Heresy 10. Riivaus - Hehkumaton 11. Sacrificium Carmen - Nekrognosis - Avain varjoihin 12. Morgal - Nightmare Lord 13. Mooncitadel - Onyx Castles and Silver Keys 14. Aethyrick - Apotheosis 15. Spectral Wound - A Diabolic Thirst 16. Ferriterium - Calvaire 17. Caestus - Nordic Luciferian Discipline 18. Sørgelig - Slaves of Tomorrow 19. Urdôl Ur - Seven Portals to the Arcane Realms 20. Caestus - The Undoer’s Key 21. Kôr - The Horns of Ylmir 22. Flagg - Cosmic Chaos Manifest 23. Kirkebrann/Visegard - Kirkegard 24. Whoredome Rife - Winds of Wrath 25. Svrm - Розпад 26. Hautakammio - Pimeyden kosketus 27. Ars Moriendi - Le silence déraisonnable du ciel 28. Doedsvangr - Serpents ov Old 29. Helheim - Woduridar 30. Embryonic Slumber - In Worship Our Blood Is Buried 31. Runespell - Verses in Regicide 32. Ildskær - Paa dækket kalder de døde 45. Taake/Helheim - Henholdsvis 46. Valdaudr - Drapsdalen 47. Sorcier Des Glaces - Ghastly Memories 48. Dauða - Dauða Eldfjall 49. Noen hater oss - Siste stopp skjærsilden 50. Pan-Amerikan Native Front - Little Turtle's War
Great list as always! Of all of these Kill Grid is my favorite. Two death metal releases you might have missed are Celestial Sanctuary and Necrochaos, and for the Bolt Thrower-death: Frozen Soul and Chainsword. Cheers!
I had never made end of year list before but this year, for just a little bit of fun and change maybe, I tried. The new The Ruins of Beverast release The Thule Grimoires is my favorite for 2021 even though there are a lot of strong competitors (Sielunvihollinen, Clandestine Blaze, Djevel etc.) Happy new and even better year Jerry!
Happy New Year, sir. Hope you get more fortune and success in 2022 🍻 And excellent list! Some of my favorite albums this year, that you may have missed, are: Midnight Betrothed’s Dreamless, Sentiero Dei Principi’s Lustmord, and Vampyr’s Hypnagogia.
My favourite releases: The Ruins of Beverast - The Thule Grimoires. Thy Light - Thy Light. Lowen - Unceasing Lamentations. Worm - Foreverglade. Dream Unending - Tide Turns Eternal. 1914 - Where Fear and Weapons Meet. Swallow the Sun - Moonflowers. Wolves in the Throne Room - Primordial Arcana.
Honestly the only albums I've gotten so far are Unleashed-No Signs of Life and Iron Maiden-Senjitsu. I want to pick up the new Lock Up, Lucifer, and Carcass for 2021, but that's it. Although, I really dig Genocide Pact, and I've been considering them. I'm just feeling collector burnout lately. Happy New Years btw!
You should do the honorable mentions at the end of this month because 2022 will already be half over by the time you plan on the those other albums of ‘21 thereby losing the topic’s luster.
Thanks, mate! I knew you'd have Aorlhac in your top list. Didn't know it would be in the top spot tho! Surprised to see Enforced so high there! :) Slainte!
@@RautaMetal lol yeah, I've listened to the Aorlhac album at least 30-35 times by now. Can't buy anything physical though since LADLO don't ship to the UK (Brexit). Enforced was great! Was glad to see it so high on your list. And quietly, I knew CC was going to be #1 ;)
You mentioned funeral mist. As an entire album it's pretty good but hekatomb is ten times as good in my opinion. With the reviews of the new one and the comments all over the internet you would think the opposite. Even maranatha which is very unique in my eyes is better than the new one. BtW before you got into your favorites I said to myself cannibal corpse. I knew you like that one a lot.
S.K , Deiform is a beast. Maranatha is definitely his best work. Give it more spins and it will grow in time. Personally I think it's better than Hekatomb and the best album or 2021 or in top 3 easily. Jerry great list. Most of the records put out are good to very good. Cheers and happy new year.
@@arpagius I've listened to it a few times already. It's not that good unless you listen to it as a whole. Too many reasons to list. Hekatomb is 100 percent better. When that came out I listened to it on repeat. You're in the honey moon phase. For instance I listened to the new one all the way through then right after put on hekatomb and was hit with the reminder of how much better it is.
