I am Japanese. I'm not good at English, but I'll write a few comments. I was impressed to hear his sound at Mr. Alessi's recital held in Japan. It shocked me playing Tuba. I don't know when he will comes to Japan next time, but I would definitely like to go there.
Everyone talks about how soft he plays the high notes. Am I the only one realising how in tune every note is? His notes matches the piano ones perfectly. Magnifico!!
Joe, I’ve listened to your perform for over 30 years. Your sound and performance here easily surpasses all previous efforts! Joe Reilly, trombone, 65 years and counting! If she is still in your sphere, say hello to Ginny Allen for me.
This is something I never would think of but holy cow it WORKS. And really well! Your playing is phenomenal! Subscribed and looking forward to more ^_^
Just Wonderful. It sounds like this piece was written for the trombone! That is the power of this arrangement and the virtuosity played here. I wonder if the classical greats only knew what the trombone could do... what compositions would they have written specifically for the trombone? (Or for that matter Tuba etc...)
Even though I hold your trombone playing in the highest regard, I must say I am more jealous of your roll-top desk. Where can I get one, or would you be willing to sell it?
Funny thing, we used to have one back when I lived in the chino area of california. Same style chairs as well, so if this helps you out I would love to know. Might be a big retailer that does delivery or something.
Andrew Luna I want to say there’s a slight difference but honestly it’s hard to really tell unless you hear in person and compare between what he had before and what he has now
For me it's really hard to tell. Probably because he customized his new horn just the same like Edwards (on website they really look similar). BTW he didn't change his Griego-Alessi mouthpiece.
cris chen It has some slight differences, but it is essentially the same horn. Shires and Edwards both make great horns, but I believe I like Shires more
Wow, Wow, Wow! I guess when you have good instruction from the beginning (which he obviously did) so you don't start out with bad habits, and practiced his butt off, this is what you get.
Yes but nobody plays high register in that easy way. I would like to know how Mr. Alessi think the sound in that register, which kind of sound he search
Joseph Alessi pisses me off. I know he's worked for it. I appreciate his musical legacy. I understand the kind of work it takes to maintain this level for this long. But he still pisses me off.
