I kind of think that using the same skull log gives it even more character. I'm sure you can find a replacement, but I think it looks really cool using the same one as it rots and ages. Gives it a natural feel of time in the woods. Very cool Tom. Thanks for sharing these trips with us.

Hej Tom, nice to see you two out at Cimbrer camp again. It always looks so cozy 🙂 I was on my spring hike on Saturday. The forest looks like a battlefield. Fallen / broken trees everywhere, and deep tracks from heavy machinery. In 4 weeks we have the medieval festival in Ortenburg again. Ahh! Cimbrer Camp on Sunday morning...perfect. Hello Tom, good to see you and Cornelius out making some repairs to Cimbrer Camp, getting ready for the spring/summer season. Of course the Raven banner has to hang proudly in its place and the rams skull protects the camp entrance. Brilliant meal and special coffee😉just adds to the wonderful day at the camp, looking good. If you strip the bark off the poles it will not rot as fast. The bark holds on moisture which helps to make the pole rot alot faster.

🤔you should make some birch oil from the bark to coat your wood as well as you can use it on your ax and knife blades and handles 😉

Hej Tom.Det var dejligt at komme med ud i din flotte camp. Jeg ville ønske jeg havde en dejlig camp som dig. Men vi bor på en almindelig grund hvor der ikke er plads til en shelter.
