Not exactly that super common that it needs to be addressed- especially on this show. There are reasons as why there are certain types of people being followed more than others...

It has a few times which is nice.

I especially liked how it was spread out through two episodes instead of having it bein the plot of one.

It’s showing it for kids now, which is something that hasn’t really been talked about in the context for younger kids to understand since That’s So Raven did the episode about racism. It’s been done for sitcoms meant for older audiences, but it’s important for kids to know about this so they can understand it, cause it’s a very real thing people of color especially black boys and men, experience in life. Does it suck that we are at the point that we see this as a common trope rather than an alarming and obscure thing? Yes. But we need shows especially for kids to show how wrong it is and what that does to the people who experience this on the daily. Raven’s home is showing black lives and families in a realistic way and this unfortunately is a talk that takes place in a black family household around Bookers age and even younger

@@bellaloves2815 not all sitcoms are made for adults, There are some that are made for all audience. The same old gimmick, something about racism in the world is unfair so on so forth, blah, blah, blah, lesson learned. And they’re even gonna do the stuff in the new proud family reboot, which quite frankly I’m not surprised. Even without shows like this, kids aren’t dumb to know that racism still exist in the world, if they know about MLK, so we don’t need constant reminders. And also racism is not just on Black people.

@@Symphonia30 Schools depending on region like to teach that racism ended in the 1960s after MLK or how we're so much better than the old days. Especially nowadays where racism is now much more in our face again instead of seeming subtle years ago when it's just now more aware and easier to spread the message worldwide. Kid shows always touched on heavy subjects in a kid-friendly way. This isn't the first instance of a kid show touching on racism especially on Disney and won't be the last. Yesterdays kids know about the real world but tomorrow's kids don't yet and this makes it easier on the parents with introducing the subject without them having to face it first hand and forming bad habits from the experience. It's fine to be tired of it, because we all should be tired of seeing racism talked about. But until it gets to the point of being non-existent to everyone it'll always come up. It's better for the kids to know first hand then to face their bubble being popped in the real world and be unprepared for it. If you don't want to see it, you have the choice of shutting it off and looking elsewhere. Also, this is just one instance of racism. Talking about racism on black people doesn't mean other forms of racism are non-existent, it's just the current conversation happening in the moment for black people. For example, you wouldn't go to a Breast Cancer convention and say cancer happens in other places too or go up to someone wearing bands making awareness of a specific cancer and tell them All Cancer should be made aware too. It's just a conversation for another time.
