I learned more from this than from 6 months of hands on in ring training. I like Raven's point, about asking why, what makes this work, and I used to get so frustrated that the answer was always "Because I said so".
@rowds
@rowds Год назад
Most education, or should I say most schooling in this day and age is the same. It's repetition, without any regards as to why. Don't ask questions...just memorize. Regurgitating the curriculum. 100% brainwashing but most people just think it's the way things are supposed to be and never question it.
@ashscott6068
@ashscott6068 Год назад
People who say that, are just protecting their advantage. It's a thing in any job. The person directly above you will tell you the absolute minimum, because once you know as much as them, you're a threat. It's hard to find the good guys who will give away all their knowledge, and a lot of the ones that do, only do it because they like to talk, or haven't really thought about it.

Excellent seminar. Raven's teaching method has a higher information retention rate for his students because it encourages a more personal method of engagement. You notice he creates an argumentative discourse with the students, but he always reaches his intended point without ridiculing anyone. It's effective because the students will remember what Raven was arguing with them about, how the argument ended and what they learned from that; because an argument is more memorable than just having information thrown over you monotonously for hours. Brilliant seminar and you can tell he does quite a few.

Man...great logical breakdown. Not sure many could have said it better...and its true. He's even talking to females....but he's keeping it real. They either gotta deal with it or not. He's the smartest person Any of those kids could asked for. And he's also not afraid to pick apart their egos. Which I can hear some of them aren't willing to humble themselves. I bet zero percent of those idiots have ever been seen anywhere doing anything. Maybe someone can correct me.

I'd listen to Raven's advice over and over. Same with Al Snow. So fucking good. And it makes perfect sense. You can apply this to story arcs in general. Letting the bad guy get ahead so that the good guy can learn more about what to do, and how to combat it.

I wish he’d get ahold of The Young Bucks and teach them a few things about wrestling psychology. Don’t get me wrong, I like them as a tag team, but just because you’re physically capable of doing a bunch of cool moves doesn’t mean that you should if it doesn’t add to the story you’re trying to tell in the ring

I ran into Raven after I was at Backlash 2001 at a Wendy's right after the show. I went all out for that Raven vs/ Rhyno match and wrenched my voice out for a week.I was right behind him in line, marking out over the match to my buddy I went with. I thought he was just another fan turning around and laughing. He got his food, turned back to me and chuckled then walked away. some other dude was like "Dude that was Raven!" I was like... oh f*...."

Raven is one of the smartest minds in the business... I believe the answer he was looking about with the "why does the baby need to shine"... is this. The Babyface needs to shine... So that the HEEL can get heat.... and The HEEL needs to get HEAT... So that the audience has a reason to want the Babyface to make the comeback and get the Finish.

Is it to establish the baby face as the one the crowd subconsciously roots for and the heel the they boo?
@artislife7554
@artislife7554 3 месяца назад
13:00 I've thought this for years!! If a wrestler during an actual match can put his hands on and intimidate a referee at will throughout the match, then the ref has no authority. If the ref has no authority, why is he/she in the ring other than to tell the talent when to wrap it up? If you're going to go through the charade of having a ref, for the appearance of it being an actual sporting event... then you have to bestow the same level of authority to the ref as football and basketball does... if you put hands on a ref, you're out. Not only out of the match but a possible suspension (Which would make sense of a ref having hands put on him during a match, if it was part of a storyline where the heel went rogue, or the face lost his/her cool. Those would be the only outcomes that made sense. Otherwise you may as well just have the two competitors in the ring with no ref, and let them go at it in a no disqualification styled match. 🤷‍♂

I love raven to death. But its so obvious he was drunk or high here. Firstly he kept forgetting what he was saying, then asking the people what he was talking about. Then he kept repeating himself so much and said a lot without acting saying anything. You can see some of the trainees at times chuckling and laughing too when hes not looking. He also argued with them a lot as if they were totally wrong at times they were right. When he asked questions and someone answered he barely said "correct" or agree with them as if them getting it right was bad or even opinion based questions he'd just cross question them again for no reason. Was a bit cringe. Still love Raven though all time great heel for me. Maybe his age now got him like this but i honestly think he was hammered lol.
