Ravenloft: Dementlieu- A Waltz for the Grand Masquerade 

Just incredibly beautiful music, my goodness!

I remember a really fun Halloween session I played with my friends where they (a level 5 party Male Paladin, Male Bard, Female Warlock, and Female Rogue) after completing Lost Mines of Phandelver were invited to a masquerade ball by the Zhentarim. Since they were going to a ball they of course didn't bring their weapons and armor and being that they were invited, they rode upon a carriage sent by the Zhentarim, through which they ended up passing through a particularly foggy area. Upon arriving at the ball, they of course saw noone familiar but that didn't surprise them and upon seeing the pianist/organist and head violinist/conductor the bard and warlock tried to rizz them up and succeeded with promises to "have fun later", however they started getting anxious when they realized through a history check that the dancers performing were Vistani. As they started getting more anxious and frantically started to look for anyone they knew, I dropped more creepy events on them such as them noticing that certain guests had no reflections in the mirrors, other guests clothing being covered in shedded magical animal fur, and then upon succeeding an arcana check them realizing that alot of the guests smelled like corpses. All the while I played this track as the background music. The horrifying crescendo of the session came when the masks came off and it was revealed that they had passed through a shadow crossing and ended up in Dementlieu where the Dark Lord Saidra d'Honaire was hosting a ball as a pretext for initiating a truce between several other dark lords who were warring with each other. Saidra herself was the violinist and Strahd was the organist. Other than Saidra and Strahd, other dark lords who were present included but weren't limited to were Viktra Mordenheim, Jacqueline Renier, and Lord Soth. The session ended with Bard and Warlock forced to literally dance with Saidra and Strahd until they died, then reanimated as ghosts to be placed in a bottle where they would be forced to dance with each other for eternity while their bodies were turned into zombies; paladin then gave Rogue all his speed potions then ripped a greatsword off the wall to face the guests and buy time for rogue to run away causing him to die horribly as he was eaten alive, then resurrected so he could be eaten again; with the guests and lords too distracted by the show of Paladin getting eaten alive repeatedly, Rogue managed to escape and is now on the run in Dementlieu.

My party faces the Duchess next session. Purchased, and will be used during the fight!

Sounds kind of like fable. I love it. Very creepy, definitely be using this.

The group I'm in has a roundtable style of DMing, and I go after the next session coming up. Thanks to the help of a friend, I plan on them going to a masquerade ball that will end in a fight against an undead horde and it's Necromancer master! Just gotta figure out her noble title, as the setting is currently in Barovia lol (we're in the Dread Realms, and the base of operations - the building the group always seems to find a way to return to - is a tower, relatively close to the town of Barovia) Can't wait to see how it goes, especially with this perfect music for it!
