I want to say I think Baltimore ravens show great class in the way they wrapped their arms around Ray with love like every repenting human deserves. He’s still married to the women and she as far as I know is happy and well with him today. Not saying it’s easy but let’s not outcast someone whos made all the right decisions as far as we know in this situation.

Lamar has said in the past that he tried to have a fun day in Baltimore but to get the permit the city basically told him he had to rent the police department for the day.

I agree that burrow, allen, and Lamar should be ranked 2-4 (with Lamar at #2) but we all know that if Lamar had played terrible with a calf injury and then missed half the season (Burrow) or thrown 22 picks (Allen) he would have been outside the top 5 for sure

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????? Because people like you either don't know what you are talking about or you are disingenuous at best or racist ! You just convinently toss out that Gus Edwards 13 rushing Touchdowns with 12 in the red zone... HOW DID THEY GET IN THE RED ZONE BUD? Gus Edwards got to the red zone because of Lamar!. Lamar Jackson was the best player in the NFL last year.

LJ's statement implies a lot of stereotypes that David Simon set forth and he needs a ghost writer because some of it is not college level discourse. MVPs get this scrutiny and his sensitivity is scary. Bobby if you are journalist; it is your job to publicize what he has done off the field, not a fan... Telling fans and others professional writers what they should research... You do it!!! You can not accept a face of the league title and expect to be seen doing things every year and not for kids here... No, one is gonna ask, why? Sit down with that. Yesterday, I made a comment. LJ, you, can take kids who volunteered in the community in BMore, valedictorians, synagogue kids, mosque, kids, make a wish kids, with parents to your fun day in Florida and you also could publicly pay for them to go to academic summer camps or QB camps and make it known... Not having a fun day in BMore is an excuse for a QB who does nothing but unscheduled moves to be a 2time MVP... But, can you think outside the box of helping the community while not seeing things as either or... Lateral thinking is higher skill... Do what you want; honest people will be honest about what you are doing to deserve your success and what is not excusable with your access and wealth...

We ain’t never made excuses for Lamar. Ask any non Raven, even non AFC fan; to name a few receivers not named Hollywood Brown that Lamar had in the GRo era and there will be crickets! Injured Rashod. Check. Demarcus Robinson was the next best. He’s currently WR4 at the Rams. He was often WR2 for us. And about Ray Rice… let he who hath no sin cast the first stone. He was forgiven by his wife. He did a lot of development and theory and work towards bettering himself. He lost his career over what he did. Let’s forgive him. I grew up in an abusive af household and was exposed to domestic violence day in day out.. I forgive my father. Let’s forgive Ray.

The point of it is to help kids that are under privileged. Those kids reside in the inner city. Doing it outside of the city would be pointless as they most likely wouldn’t be able to attend. Where is this criticism for Orioles players???

He said on Instagram last year that the city required him to basically rent the police department for the day to get the permits to do it. Sure he could move it Owings Mills or Pikesville but then his main purpose is defeated. It's to give underprivileged kids a memorable day because they don't get many. Move it to far away from the city and most of them wouldn't get to come. It'd be nice if the Ravens organization partnered with him to something like this in the city.

I don't believe there is a Lamar Jackson Cult that can't view Lamar Jackson with reality... not at all. Most view him as a decent passer with potiental to take steps forward. But his ability to extend plays and be a play maker is what makes him special. That isn't misguided pov Why you get so much push back is because lamar jackson gets the racist dog whistle take downs against him every few months even in the off season. And no matter how much he dispells doubts it doesn't matter the goal posts still move If Lamar Jackson wins the next 5 super bowls and the next 5 MVP's the same ppl will say the samething As one NFL anonymous ext said "lamar Jackson can win 10 MVP's and he will still not be QB1". If Lamar Jackson was a white guy with blond hair he would have a CULT FOLLOWING beyond measure.. he would have won 2 Heismans (yes the voting would have gone differently)... the tone would be positive. The outlook on him would be positive..... He isn't just a guy these same people don't believe in ... the hope and pray he fails because he represents change they don't want to happen.

Unfortunately as a white woman Lamar fan since his Louisville days, I agree with you and I would add his being a vocal Christian as well as an unashamed black man contribute. I laugh at the Lamar cult thing because I could say the same thing about the Mahomes cult, Burrow cult, Allen cult etc. I am proud to be part of the Lamar QB cult since his college years. He has been the most exciting, joyful, kind athlete of his generation that stood up for himself to continue being a QB despite all of the naysayers! I honestly am unsure if we will ever see a dual QB that can even come close to Lamar’s athleticism, skills which convert to entertainment value! Come on negative responses, you will never change my mind!

I fw Lamar but it seems like he making some excuses.. it's just as much BS in Broward County Florida as there is in Baltimore. Maybe not quite as much, but with the right security the event would be great for these kids here.. they need it too. Though i see nothing wrong with what he does in his hometown. Just wish it was also done in the city he makes his hundreds of millions in.

Cities have different rules. His hometown does not require him to rent the police department, he can hire private security. Baltimore City required him to rent BCPD for the day. The cost of that is prohibitive.
