Ravenscar - 'The town that never was '

In todays video we head to the North Yorkshire coast and walk part of the old Whitby to Scarborough railway .
We explore the old Brickworks and then David walks the disused Tunnel at Ravenscar before we head to the old Railway station to see what is left of the station at the Town that never was .

Cool...love the things you find on your travels...passed Ravenscar along the coastal path many times, but never realised there was so much history around here.

Hi, Walking Lost History. Wow, I like this arched bridge, although, was it restored? I see some different colors of bricks. Those B&W images are appreciated. Hi David and Michelle. Fascinating that! We did a circular walk along part of this route earlier this year, but never knew the tunnel was there. Great to see inside it👍 Aren't there some beautiful bridges along the way, though?👍😁

Hi Des 👋we have walked and cycled around here and never knew it was there either. David had to go in the tunnel on his own, Shell & Annalise could not get down the embankment without ending up falling 😂 . We always like to find the old bridges , they don't make them like that anymore. Have a good week, David & Shell

Those were the kilns where they made the bricks, If you look at some of the bricks from the site they do say Ravenscar on them. We learned alot about this and the railway at school which I was grateful for. I am glad they taught us some local History at school in Whitby x
