Just so heartening to see all the sanity and decency between these gentlemen even as they set out to justify Mr. Shastri. This openness and the liberty to mind our own business is lacking in today's India. Far from being a tenth as accomplished as Mr. Shastri, people go on to demean & humiliate him. I can quite agree with Mr. Vikram (& every other gentleman) that Mr. Shastri has got tremendous self respect and courage to stand up to such tendencies. Good, sensible and responsible discussion! 😊

@@WakeUpPant People judge! Let them judge. The whole point of discussion is: do not humiliate a person for his habits. He is not coming after anybody's peace! I find it very offensive (and disturbing) to watch so many people chase Mr. Shastri with untoward remarks. Can we at least be civil towards him regardless of our opinion about him?
Agreed with Gautam. Shastri flaunts his drinking habits publically and rather beautifully XD. He looks stoned in many matches and his Sanjay Dutt kinda press conference skills make the speculations stronger
In 1992, me and some of my friends, burnt an effigy of Ravi Shastri in our street, with Ravi shastri hai hai slogans. And we were 7 yrs old. Don't know why we did that. May be he wasn't liked much as a cricketer during the last few years of his career. Current day Memes would have as much an impact on shastri as few 7 year olds insulting him in some remote locality of a small city.
Sorabh u know jishnu balan U.A.E cricketer have habit of touching both pads atleast 4 times in repeating mode before playing any delivery and he do dat on pitch in running match , and bowler and umpire waits for him to complete his habit , it was shocking for me when i watched him playing live 😟😟😟😟
Drinking is not a big thing. I dont know why so much attention is given to a man in his 50's-60's enjoying a drink. He is also a human being. The reason he is getting so much attention is because he is cricketer/coach and we indian have the tendency to treat cricketers as gods. Only because of this mentality other sports are not getting the attention they deserve.
I think issue yeh nahi hai ki oh peeta hai issue yeh hai ki Coach ka repute bewde ka hai. Kal pata chala that Virat is a Drunkard(Hypoteically) and that's why ain't getting runs. Toh kharab lagega na ki captain ka yeh haal hai.

Fact- from 2003 Till June 2021(18 years) India was ranked no.1 for total of 69 months (around 6 years), while NZ was no. 1 only for 2 months (Jan2021-March2021) in 18 years, yet they are WTC champions!
