In the crazy world we live in, I am glad to be able to grab some coffee and escape to Catherine’s kitchen and see the wonderful meals she makes 👍. Thank you for another yummy and hearty recipe😀❤️
I also add 1/2 cup of red wine to my sauce like my grandmother did. It reduces the acid along with the sugar. I always use ricotta. I like the idea of ravioli instead of noodles.
Catherine totally love Italian & Mexican food. Love Lasagna,Pizza & Burritos!!You & Thomas have great taste in Food . Just love your Recipes 👍🏻💯❤️👍🏻☀️🌺🇨🇦🇨🇦
I'm a cheese girl!!!! I gerw up using cottage cheese!!! I love ricotta cheese too!!! It's just tooo expensive to use!!! This dish looks Absolutely Amazing and Delicious!!! It is Definitely a Keeper!!! Thank you Catherine for sharing it with us!!! God Bless Us All!!!
I thought I didn't like cottage cheese ! As I prepped this, I tasted it & its fine. Def ricotta for lasagna, I added 1/2 cup fresh grated parmesan to cheese mix & abt 1/3 on top. Also added abt 1.5 tbs crushed red pepper to sauce mix. Y'all it came out lip smacking good 😜
I make a dish very similar to this but I put in some baby spinach leaves in each layer . It adds colour and veggies and tastes great !. Im a fan of cottage cheese too .
Hello Catherine, Now that’s some good stuff!!! I love cottage cheese, but I have used both in my lasagna dishes. Thanks for sharing another wonderful recipe 😊
Oooooh delicious,we are fans of the cottage cheese,we both grew up with that.we do like the ricotta, sometimes we use both.this is perfect and we're excited to make it.have a wonderful day everybody.😊😊😊❤❤
I made this tonight. I’m going to cook it and warm it up again tomorrow cause I’ve got people coming over to watch the 49ers football game. I like both ricotta and cottage cheese. Tonight I used cottage cheese and I didn’t have enough so I had to add some sour cream to it and I have to tell you it was delicious. I can’t wait to serve it tomorrow to see if everyone likes it. I’m sure they will. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe.
I love cottage cheese, but prefer ricotta in my lasagnas. Cheese ravioli all the way. Never too much cheese, just like there is no such thing as too much chocolate! I really appreciate you sharing your recipes. I have a friend that you remind me so much of, so I really enjoy watching you.
I've made this with Cheese ravioli and no ricotta. I kept it very simple since the ravioli contained ricotta. I only used beefy sauce, Mozz and Parm in between layers and on top. It was fantastic. It made so much there was enough to freeze for a couple dinners later in the month ❤ As for the Ricotta/Cottage Cheese debate. I love them both, however I tend to only use Ricotta in my homemade lasagna. 😉
I made this today for my dad, mom and brother they loved it. Mom can't do red sauce so she didn't wanna try it so I did the sugar and she ate 2 plates of it. Thank you
I'm a cottage cheese fan too. Just not crazy about the flavor of Ricotta.I'll use the cheese ravioli and try this. Looks so good 👍! Add a side salad and some garlic bread and yum 😋
Wow! Kiss your brain Ms. Catherine this looks amazing, l enjoy your creative in recipes, definitely giving this a try. Thank you, for jazzing up our family dinners. Blessings you and your family.❤
That looks really yummy I've always made lasagna but this really looks good with the ravioli in it I only use cottage cheese also and the mozzarella love your videos😊
I use both cottage cheese and ricotta cheese for my lasagna. I make my own sauce too. Never used ravioli before. I will try it. Thank you so much. We are having spaghetti for dinner tonight. I make my spaghetti sauce in big batches and freeze in individual size for meals for us. I use the sauce for lasagna, spaghetti and pizzas. I make my pizza from scratch too.
When I make this I would use cheese or spinach ravioli since we are adding the meat mixture. Generally, ricotta would be my preference but since the raviolis have that already, I'm going to try the cottage cheese. Thanks Catherine!
Hi Catherine, this looks fun to make! I wouldn't have thought to put cottage cheese in with it, but I'll definitely give this a try. Sadly not tonight because I don't have all the ingredients and we are currently snowed in. And it's supposed to keep snowing for the next several hours. But maybe tomorrow night for dinner! I'm going to make it exactly how you have done this. My husband isn't a big ricotta cheese fan but I'm going to use the cheese ravioli anyway because it'll give this delicious looking dish another depth of flavor.
I like your recipe best. I'm a big fan of cottage cheese. Ricotta is fine but cottage cheese has a more robust flavor and texture. Finally, I figured out why you added water to that top layer of marinara sauce. I noticed that baked last can get a bit dry. That tiny bit of water will keep it moist. Thanks for the tip.
Ricotta yes, mixed with asiago or parmesan (not mozz) with 2 Tbsp of jar or fresh pesto. That would be my choice and topped with whole milk mozzarella at the end.😊
That looks amazing! I will make this for my family, this coming weekend. Only I am going to use beef ravioli, instead of cheese? Not that cheese won't be good? Just different. Thank you Ma'am, have a great week!
I love cottage cheese. I eat it with everything. But being Italian it has no business in lasagna or raviolis. It has to be ricotta. My Italian grandmother would roll in her grave in we put cottage cheese in her recipes. Sorry.😊
I grew up using cottage cheese so that's what I'll continue to use. But you can use what you like the best. That's what's so great about recipes, you don't like something take it out and use a different ingredient.
@@CatherinesPlates Please dont get me wrong Catherine. I absolutely love your channel and all your recipes. Grammy was just a little scary when we tweaked her recipes. My best friend in life has always used cottage cheese and she still does to this day.😊😉
This Italian always uses Ricotta, but I'm sure cottage cheese is great for those who are used to that! No green pepper for me, but a little something hot for the sauce, usually just a bit of crushed red pepper or grated pepperoni 😉
It's that time again. grocery shopping. After watching this video I'm going to purchase those raviolis and put this meal together. But I prefer the ricotta over the cottage cheese. Thanks Catherine for another good and easy recipe.
Oh that looks sooooo yummy!!! I'm a cheese ravi fan. And, I've always used ricotta, but I'd be willing to try cottage cheese. For a healthier option, I'd use either ground turkey or pork (or both!). Nom nom!!
This is just up my alley Catherine!😍 It has all the components that I love!😘 We've always used cottage cheese instead of ricotta cheese! It just seems like cottage cheese has more flavor!😚 Years ago I found a different frozen ravioli at HEB and it had mushrooms in the ravioli! I know you don't care for mushrooms but some of your family does but sadly I've never found it again.😕 It's also kind of sad there are only two flavors of the ravioli, beef or cheese. They're sticking everything into tortellini these days so you'd think they could be more creative for ravioli!😋 But I digress..... I don't see why someone couldn't add mushrooms to this dish!☺️ I could use some of the beef ravioli and some of the cheese ravioli then add sauteed mushrooms to the dish!🤤 Then I could add all the cheesey goodness with the ravioli and the mushrooms for a fantastic meal!🤩 Thanks for sharing another great recipe!🥰
Now that looks absolutely delicious Catherine. I've never had that before. I would like cottage cheese and ricotta cheese in mine .I think I would use meat ravioli.
Cottage cheese fan big time! I take Nacho Cheese flavored Doritos and crumble them fine in to a bowl of Cottage Cheese leaving a few bigger crumbles. Awe Man Good Stuff!
Hi Catherine!!! I never made Lasagna with Ravoli. I never made Ravoil either. My family just never asked for it. Looks really yummy to me. I would give this recipe a try.Good idea instead of lasagna noodles. Thanks for this... I like Ricotta...YUMS!!! Nice Video!!!...🦋
Yes, yes, yes! Just poor in that Italian seasoning. I always like more than some recipes call for. Yours was perfect! Been wanting to try this one for awhile… love to see your video on how to make it.😊
