www.baatraining... Dear viewers, this week we are back in the Boeing 737 Full Flight Simulator, where our student Per Ljung will explain you the Raw data ILS situations and also will try to recover from various stall situations. Let’s see how it went! Do not forget - this video is not for training purposes! Enjoy!
BAA Training headquarters is in Lithuania and counts more than 20 years of experience in aviation training, while its heritage reaches 1938 - the establishment of the Lithuanian airlines training department. In addition to training base in headquters it is able to offer training solutions in various Europe, CIS and Asia locations.

Hi there BAA! I suggest you trying similiar stall test however with your TE & LE devices fully retracted. It will be a great opportunity to observe operation of auto-slats on the B737. Cheers.

+AAPilot Auto slats require flaps 1,2 or 5 in a -500 series if I'm not mistaken. It's 10, 15, and 25 for the -800

Awesome! One question, what is that wheel turning randomly beside the throttle levers? is that like a Elevator trim wheel or something?
@jibeneyto91
@jibeneyto91 8 лет назад
+donnyguns1 It's the stabilizer trim wheel. The stabilizer trim is set either by the autopilot or by the pilot using the trim switches on the yoke. Careful not to confuse "stabilizer" with "elevator", the stabilizer is the "whole horizontal taiplane" while the "elevator" is only the control surface that's within the tailplane and can be deflected using the control column. You could argue that there's only ONE stabilizer (just like there's just ONE wing, it structurally crosses through the fuselage) but TWO elevators, one on each half-stabilizer.

Hi my na e is Jordan, I'm twelve years old and I attend a flying school. I have got 1 hour clocked for my PPL. My question to Pranas Drulis is what things do you need to study for you PPL and the RPL? Thanks you heaps.
@nathanchetram287
@nathanchetram287 8 лет назад
Pranas already graduated from the school. I am 14 and nearly done my ground school. There are plenty of study guides and practice guides available online, take one, get a base score, then study the areas you need to improve on. In Canada, we have a PSTAR exam (50 multiple choice questions, 45 questions correct is minimum to pass, I got 45 correct). The PSTAR is what lets you go solo. We also have an RPPAE exam which is what you take for the actual license.

Interesting, but why do they still instruct classic aircrafts?
@Rhinozherous
@Rhinozherous 8 лет назад
I think because the priciples of jet flying will be the same, regardless of the type. And an older simulator is maybe cheaper in maintenance... but I just guessing.
@jibeneyto91
@jibeneyto91 8 лет назад
+X-Plane Aviation Because these aircrafts are still flying and the principles that can be learned with them are basically the same for any other jet airliner. Bear in mind that the 737 NG is in essence a 60's aircraft with a fancy glass cockpit. But it essentially flies just the same way. Also if they have the simulator already, they might as well use it because getting a newer one is not precisely cheap.

+Pilot Jordan Hello Jordan, Study math, physics and english and you will be good to go when you study to become a pilot. But I would also sudgest to buy Flight simulator of some kind, to get familiare with aircrfats in general! Good luck! :)

+Pilot Jordan Hi Jordan, it's great that you're showing interest in aviation. You are still very young so your priority right now is to perform well in school. Make sure you learn your subjects and get great marks! Even if you want to be a professional pilot later on, university education won't do you any bad (it will rather help you)

the electronic altometer is correct and the normal one is 260ft out, which one do you believe?
@Marine8304
@Marine8304 8 лет назад
The correctness of altimeter depends on a point of view. In this case while approaching, baroaltimeter QNH-orientated, showed field elevation height plus your actual altitude. It is reduced to the local sea level (SL). The radioaltimeter showed actual height to the ground (AGL). On the other hand, while cruising at FL360, baroaltimeter is showing 36 000 feet (AMSL), while radioaltimeter is showing nothing. So which instrument is trustworhty then? It all depends on purpose of using altimeter and point of "his" view. Cheers.

+AAPilot thanks for the additional info :))
@jibeneyto91
@jibeneyto91 8 лет назад
+AAPilot Hi, not entirely correct. If you're cruising at FL360 you're not 36.000 feet from the sea. You're 36.000 feet from the altitude (or isobar) at which the pressure is 1013.25 hPa. Now in a standard ISA day that would be exactly sea level, but in a hot day the pressure at sea level is less than standard, the 1013.25 hPa isobar will lie below sea level so FL360 will be lower than 36.000 from the sea. In a cold day it's the opposite and FL360 will be higher than 36.000 feet from sea level.

Hi jibeneyto. Okay, and what would happen with my altitude reading, while my A/C is passing over high- or low-pressure area? What if there are severe winds by our base level which also influent on pressure? This is the idea of creating term as Mean Sea Level. Sea level is then MEANED to an average value, so we can compare AMSL altitude all over the world, no matter of atmoshepric pressure, temperature etc. on reference datum. As it is said in "Altitude" definition, it is height between object and reference datum. If my altimeter setting is STD, I am on some altitude over reference datum, no matter if 10 feet over the real sea level or 5 feet beneath it. Furthermore if every single A/C in my region is also STD orientated, with proper separation, there is no way of vertical colliding. Becouse we all have the same reference datum, the Mean Sea Level. This is the purpose of giving altitude and/or FL refering to the STD setting - 29.92/1013.25/760. Cheers.
@jibeneyto91
@jibeneyto91 8 лет назад
+AAPilot Hi AAPilot! If your plane is flying with altimeter set to standard 1013.25 and you're flying at FL360, you will always be 36.000 feet above the 1013.25 isobar. Now, if this isobar is "ascending" or "descending" with respect to sea level, then the aircraft will also be ascending and descending with respect to sea level as well. The altimeter will always be reading 36.000 but the plane will be "physically" climbing or descending with respect to sea level. That is no problem at all, because as you very well know and say all other aircraft will be doing the same thing. The important thing is that all aircraft are using the same reference, that's the point of using a standard altimeter setting.
