I just found your channel and have started at the oldest video, binge watching. I really like your artistry/sewing methods and, that yours is not massively using fusible products. Its nice to see what's in your mind's eye show up on your fabric canvas. Thank you for providing your channel to us.
Oh, this tea cozy is gorgeous! I think that added insert really makes the applique "pop". You are an awesome artist, that little stuffed leaf 'handle' is so clever and cute. Thanks for sharing this post with us. ~Diana from Toronto
As a "beginning to bloom" textile remaker and creative, thank you for the encouragement- not to be derivative but trusting my own eye, and feel for a piece. Just thank you, thank you. I trust new horizons will continue to rise for you. Sonia
Love what I have just seen you do - can't wait to give it a go. Your technique of starting with a scrap, and drawing the shape with the stitching makes more sense than cutting a fused shape and fiddling and fussing to attach it neatly. Thank you !
You are an amazing artist. I looked for Rosemary's book and haven't been able to find it but did find another book on this. I ordered it and will keep looking, hopefully it is still in print.
I am so happy I came across your channel , continuesly am watching ur beautiful work. And am learning so much, I started sewing since I was a child just like my mom and I always wanted to do something different.but could not since I don't get much time but now that my daughter's are in another city doing job I have enough time so am so excited to start over again.thank you so much for sharing.i really love all your works.lots of love from India Nagaland 💖
Absolutely Breathtaking workmanship, creativity, and I do luuove your philosophy regarding the potential function of mistakes if we make intentional efforts to learn from them - SUPERB. I've had Eichorn's book for years but never have found the courage to develop my own variation on the theme. Your videos have provided exactly the motivation I need to go for it. THANK YOU :) :) :)
I really enjoyed watching part 1 and 2 of your video. I think I'd like to do some of this. I'm just a beginner in FMQ and I think this is what I really would love to do as well as my piecing and quilting my quilts. I've wanted to do fabric collage and thread painting for some time now, but was afraid as I have no knowledge of it, but after watching your videos, I think I will definitely do this type of quilting. Thank you, I really enjoyed this.
Love love love your technique!! I have only been sewing for over a year, but it comes natural to me. I have made 27 quilts and every one is sold and gone. I'm going going to check out the book.
I so love your technic and teaching videos. I am a visual learner and very seldom seem to follow a pattern the same way. I like how you do stuff in your unique way. Beth, Thank you, so much for sharing your art on You Tube so I can learn from you. I look forward to seeing all your videos. From one of your appreciated viewers.
This is very timely for me to see this now as I get more into applique w/my wall hangings and various works. Your videos have opened up more possibilities and another path for my work to follow. Thank you for posting.
Thanks! I am planning to do a flower wall piece after Christmas that has a rectangular background. I hope you will stay tuned. You are my favorite YT Klingon. (Sorry, I love your username.)
I just discovered you yesterday, and have watched several of your videos including the three on raw edge applique. I am so drawn to this art form, and you are so kind and generous. I look forward to seeing more of your videos, and to begin walking this path. Thank you so much!
I would be hugging it also. you are too critical of yourself. you are NOT STALE. YOUR CREATIONS HAVE MOVEMENT AND THEY ARE FLOWING. NOT STALE IN THE LEAST. so glad you are teaching locally. I agree with mistakes, some of my best oops moments have been my best ideas. I hope you hook up with a good publisher and git your own book. your journey was and is interesting. I wish you great success. I hope one day you are "discovered " for your talents. the fusible binding technique worked out perfectly. it was the best binding I ever did. it was on a queen size barn raising log cabin. LOTS OF OOHS AND AAAHS. after our meeting, older quilters came up to me and asked me how did I do my binding to make it so perfect. lol. kudos for you.! THANKS FOR MAKING US TRY. AND BTW, IF YOU AREN'T MAKING MISTAKES YOU ARE NOT TRYING. LOVE AND HUGS GOD BLESS. I FEEL LIKE YOU ARE AT THE END OF THE DIVING BOARD. JUMP IN ...TO YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE. HOPE YOU MAKE A BIG SPLASH!
+Diana Wright I am tired of making the same things I guess. Also not wanting to set up at a weekly market, even though I am told regularly that I have the nicest booth and items etc., etc. I've been in a creative funk for more than a year, wanting to stretch my wings a little more. I think putting this stuff out there is my way of "burning the bridge" in a constructive way. Thrilled the fusible worked out so well--every now and then I am too lazy to sew the fusible (or forget) and then I think, man, this is SO much harder. Please share my channel/video info with your quilting buds. Many of my tips originating with me trying to make it better, faster, easier with high standards. That series was a lot for me to juggle. I will do the bags alternating between the versions, I think, instead of altogether. Not sure. Your comments are so nice. God bless and take care.
Love how your end of binding, makes it so much nicer. I hope to be able to do this kind of quilting. I'm at the stage of learning free motion but love the go and create as you sew. Something to look forward to, saving my videos for re watch.
I am a beginner and have started watching video tutorials. When I saw a couple of yours, I subscribed immediately. Your work is so artistic, but you finish everything so professionally. I laughed when you said in this video that you were only 4 away from having 700 subscribers! Haha. Today is Aug 2018, and at this time you have 16 Thousand subscribers! Good job. You have inspired so many people. Thank you.
Your work is so so beautiful, thank you , from Scotland, I am desperate to start some raw edge appliqué. I had always thought the raw edges were “not my thing” ( emphasising my need to be neat n tidy), however I am enjoying the design aspect of working in raw edge, thank you so much.
have been watching your videos and you have inspired me to venture into raw edge applique, have always done only needle turn applique. thank you for taking the time to post these videos.
I live between Italy and England, where I learned to quilt and discovered your videos today and I am in awe, I have to thank you so much for your words and your inspiring thinking. I am on a new career path as textile artist after many years in academia and have been asked to make three landscapes quilted wall hangings for a prestigious research centre in very little time. Decided to have a go and need to thank you for you teaching so much. It's a steep learning curve but I will take every mistake as a creative opportunity. Thank you again and wish you a glorious New Year to you and your dear ones.
I am in love with your work. I had never seen it and will be using your techniques. Just got a new Juki with quilt attachments and plan on playing alot. Thank you for making these videos Lisa Hynes
Today is the first time I have viewed your work. I love it! I have been looking for something like this. I love free-motion quilting, have done thread painting, but this looks sooo much better. Can't wait to better understand it and do it.
Wow! You make it seem alot easier than regular applique using wonder under...I'm definitely going to try this. I'm really drawn to landscape quilts and I think this is a great way to make the different elements like trees, flowers, etc. I like the organic look and color combinations you get with your method! Thanks so much for your inspirations!
Inspirational. Yes! I will experiment with this technique. Thanks sew much for sharing your tips. I'm looking for the book now. Looks like good resource. Thanks again! BTW, I think your teaching and presentations are perfect. Hope you will make more videos. 💕
I just recently found your videos. YOU are AWESOME!! Your designs are so beautifully original and your details are so clearly explained.I'm having a great time just trying to create some of your projects. Keep up the good work, it's beautiful.
+ABC Mini Farm You're too kind! So glad you are watching and having fun with it. I really hope to make a difference for people on their journeys with fiber. Would love to know how the projects are going! Happy sewing!
I just stumbled upon your channel and love your work. The tea cozy and mat are so beautiful! I just subscribed and am anxious to watch more of your videos. Thanks so much, Linda Hardesty
Your second video perked up into my suggested watch list and it looked so intriguing that I watched it... that's all she wrote! I found part one and part three, signed up to follow you and your work, and ordered the inspirational book! I appreciate your thorough and thoughtful instruction. Thank you for sharing your time and lovely techniques with us.
Your videos are very inspiring! I also bought Rosemary Eichorns book based on your recommendation. It lives on my night table along with Leni Wieners book "Thread Painting". The books are great when I need some quick inspiration. WHY don't you have a book yet? It would be fabulous to see full size color photographs of your work....
Wow you are a genius could you tell me please what sort of machine you use .I am from the gold coast Australia and i dont know if it would be available here but it would give me an idea what to buy Love your work and i did subscribe ,would appreciate your assistance Sue
Thank you for watching and subscribing all the way from the Gold Cost! I have a semi-industrial Bernina 950, which is not longer being made and is not really right for home sewing. Look for a sturdy mechanical machine (rather than computerized) with feet that change out easily. Be sure you have the capability to drop your feed dogs and buy the best quality you can afford.
